  • Patent number: 10536720
Abstract: A method of decoding or encoding that includes generating a new multi-transform data structure by embedding one or more non-recursive transforms into a larger recursive transform. The method may further include receiving information regarding a target data block and determining whether to use a recursive transform or a non-recursive transform. When the determination is to use the recursive transform, the method may include generating the recursive transform using a multi-transform data structure and causing the target data block to be encoded or decoded using the generated recursive transform. If not, the method may include causing the target data block to be encoded or decoded using one of the one or more the non-recursive transforms embedded in the multi-transform data structure.

  • Patent number: 10532420
Abstract: A method of joining together adjacent overlapping copper workpieces by way of resistance spot welding involves providing a workpiece stack-up that includes a first copper workpiece and a second copper workpiece that lies adjacent to the first copper workpiece. The faying surface of the first copper workpiece includes a projection that ascends beyond a surrounding base surface of the faying surface and makes contact, either directly or indirectly, with an opposed faying surface of the second copper workpiece. Once provided, a compressive force is applied against the first and second copper workpieces and an electric current is passed momentarily through the first and second copper workpieces. The electric current initially flows through the projection to generate and concentrate heat within the projection prior to the projection collapsing. This concentrated heat surge allows a metallurgical joint to be established between the first and second copper workpieces.

  • Patent number: 10534449
Abstract: The structure and devices described herein provide an improved digital eraser for a stylus. A stylus may have an eraser end that transmits an erase signal from an eraser antenna. A cover houses the eraser antenna and can be configured with varying geometry to selectively position the eraser antenna closer to, or further away from, a digitizer screen of a computing device when the cover is in contact with the digitizer screen. The computing device can detect the signal strength of the erase signal and/or the contact area between the cover and the digitizer screen and vary one or more of the width, area, or opacity of the erase function. The computing device can further, based upon the strength of the signal and/or the contact area between the cover and the digitizer screen, determine the tilt and/or the rotation of the stylus.
