  • Patent number: 12095824
Abstract: In some embodiments, a computing system may monitor authentication input and modify authentication requirements based on detection of user-specific input errors. The computing system may use machine learning or other techniques to detect whether an incorrect authentication input corresponds to a common input mistake of a user. If the incorrect authentication input does correspond to a common input mistake of the user, a computing system may modify one or more authentication requirements to make the authentication process easier for the user.

  • Patent number: 12092625
Abstract: Subject soils are classified using a sensing tool. By profiling each of a number of first locations that have a ground truth classification, using a deployed sensing tool, digital soil properties of new locations without ground truth classifications can be obtained to determine corresponding classifications for the new locations. This allows information related to classifications to be utilized for optimal use of the new locations.

  • Patent number: 12095610
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein provision inter-DC WAN capacity based on network failure statistics and bandwidth demands of a cloud-hosted application. Network capacity is provisioned based on an assumption of runtime cooperation between the application and the network. For example, if the network detects that a link has failed, the application may cooperate with the network to pause a deferrable transfer, reserving bandwidth for non-deferrable transfers. With knowledge that deferrable transfers will be dynamically paused when a primary link fails, backup links may be provisioned with less capacity than the primary link. The ability to dynamically defer transfers also enables a greater degree of bandwidth smoothing, e.g. reducing peak demand by scheduling deferrable transfers for off-peak hours. This allows network links to be provisioned with less capacity than if all transfers were performed immediately.

  • Patent number: 12093255
Abstract: Methods of machine learning for system deployments without performance regressions are performed by systems and devices. A performance safeguard system is used to design pre-production experiments for determining the production readiness of learned models based on a pre-production budget by leveraging big data processing infrastructure and deploying a large set of learned or optimized models for its query optimizer. A pipeline for learning and training differentiates the impact of query plans with and without the learned or optimized models, selects plan differences that are likely to lead to most dramatic performance difference, runs a constrained set of pre-production experiments to empirically observe the runtime performance, and finally picks the models that are expected to lead to consistently improved performance for deployment. The performance safeguard system enables safe deployment not just for learned or optimized models but also for additional of other ML-for-Systems features.

  • Patent number: 12092151
Abstract: A multi-pivot timing chain comprises first timing links in a first timing chain layer coupled together via meshing gear teeth, and second timing links in a second timing chain layer coupled together via meshing gear teeth. Pins rotatably couple the first timing links to the second timing links. Each of the timing links comprises opposing first and second gear portions comprising gear teeth, and first and second flexures connecting the two gear portions. The flexures are in tension and configured to cause a pair of meshing gear teeth in an adjacent timing chain layer to be in compression, thereby creating resistance to rotation of the timing links that comprise the meshing gear teeth.

  • Patent number: 12094173
Abstract: A method for direct write printing of an electrical or optical element based upon a generated master actual position map and a master expected position map is disclosed. The generated master actual position map is generated by efficiently stitching together a number of images using a hierarchical stitching process. Once the desired location of the electrical or optical element is determined by comparing the master actual position map with the master expected position map, a corresponding toolpath for a direct write printer is generated. The direct write printer then direct write prints the electrical or optical element using the generated toolpath. By using different types of inks, the electrical element may be a trace, a resistor, an inductor, a transformer, a capacitor, or some combination thereof. In like manner, the optical element may be a waveguide, a beam-splitter, a phase shifter, an optical attenuator, an interferometer, or some combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 12095529
Abstract: A receiver receives a multicarrier signal from a wireless communication network and determines subcarrier values of the multicarrier signal. A decoder decodes the subcarrier values to produce a set of data symbols. The multicarrier signal is characterized by a set of modulated pulse waveforms, which results from a sum of the subcarriers. Each of the modulated pulse waveforms has a different time offset. The decoder employs a set of codes for decoding the baseband signal, wherein each code comprises a different linearly increasing phase. Each of the linearly increasing phases corresponds to one of the different time offsets.

  • Patent number: 12093134
Abstract: Techniques manage tracking records in an application system which includes an active dump file and an inactive dump file. A set of tracking records indicating a state of the application system is received. The set of tracking records is added to the active dump file. A storage signal for storing the active dump file into a backup device associated with the application system is generated according to a determination that a size of the active dump file meets a predetermined size threshold and according to a determination that a state of the inactive dump file is a ready state. The ready state indicates that the inactive dump file is available for storing another set of tracking records to be received in the future. Accordingly, two dump files may alternately store tracking records, and copies of the dump files may be continuously stored into a backup device to improve reliability.

  • Patent number: 12096145
Abstract: A system for structured light depth computation using single photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) is configurable to, over a frame capture time period, selectively activate the illuminator to perform interleaved structured light illumination operations. The interleaved structured light illumination operations comprise alternately emitting at least a first structured light pattern from the illuminator and emitting at least a second structured light pattern from the illuminator. The system is also configurable to, over the frame capture time period, perform a plurality of sequential shutter operations to configure each SPAD pixel of the SPAD array to enable photon detection. The plurality of sequential shutter operations generates, for each SPAD pixel of the SPAD array, a plurality of binary counts indicating whether a photon was detected during each of the plurality of sequential shutter operations.

  • Patent number: 12093219
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable users to receive visits from other users in a desktop environment and initiate communication sessions using a drag and drop gesture input to move virtual representations or avatars of other users. For instance, by dragging and dropping an avatar into a file, the user can select the file for sharing and the system can automatically grant appropriate permissions to various users who are invited by the gesture input. The user can additionally grant other users' permission to edit the shared file which is reflected in an update to each user's permission data. In this way, users can communicate and collaborate directly form the social space of a desktop without opening a communication application. Other features include suggestions for files to share based on the context of a conversation, presenting contextual information alongside each user's avatar and suggesting other shared spaces to explore.
