Abstract: A light inspection system positions an autonomous vehicle (AV) in a field of view of a camera such that the camera captures an image of a light of the AV. The light inspection system instructs a camera to capture an image of the light while the light is switched on. The light inspection system receives the captured image, determines a luminance of the light based on the image, and determines to service the light in response to the luminance of the light being below a threshold luminance.

Abstract: A composite material comprising braided composite yarns that can be embedded within or at the surface of the material. The braided composite yarns can incorporate one or more multicomponent fiber bundles. The braided composite yarns can be the axial yarns in a triaxial braided fabric that has structural yarns as the bias yarns. The composite material can comprise a carbon fiber prepreg. The thickness of each braided composite yarn can be approximately the thickness of a single composite ply. At least one conductive wire can be wrapped around an axial yarn of the braided composite yarn at a location desirable for electrical contact to be made to at least one conductor in the axial yarn. At least some of the conductive wire is preferably soldered to at least one of the conductors. The conductive wire can be twisted with a structural yarn and is stitched across the braided composite yarn. A conductive pad can be soldered to the one conductive wire.
Abstract: An example method includes identifying, using a browser extension, content of a first webpage of a first website being displayed using a browser. The identifying of the content includes determining a product related to the content of the first webpage and determining that the product has been added to an electronic shopping cart. The method further includes determining a merchant that offers the product for sale and determining, based on a user account associated with the browser extension, a customer reward offered by the merchant and available to the user account. The method further includes determining that the browser has navigated away from the first webpage to a second webpage of a second website. The method further includes modifying the browser to display a graphical user interface element including information about the customer reward and a link configured to navigate the browser back to the first website.

Abstract: A system provides intelligent gallery management for biometrics. A first gallery is obtained that includes biometric and/or other information on a population of people. An application is identified. A subset of the population of people is identified based on the application. A second gallery is derived from the first gallery by pulling the information for the subset of the population of people without pulling the information for the population of people not in the subset. Biometric identification (such as facial recognition) for the application may then be performed using the second gallery rather than the first gallery. In this way, the system is improved as less time is required for biometric identification, fewer device resources are used, and so on.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for combating false advertising using crowdsourcing. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a false digital component alert indicating that a digital component presented at a client device includes false information, validating the false digital component alert based on a public key to verify digital signature included in the false digital component alert matching the public key of stored attestation tokens specifying presentation and interaction data for the digital component. In response, adding the false digital component alert to an aggregated report. Based on a false alert ratio, determining that a magnitude of validated false digital component alerts in the aggregated report meets a threshold, and triggering a false digital component mitigation response including providing a false information warning with the false digital component to one or more client devices or digital component provider.
Abstract: The disclosed technology provides solutions for generating accurate virtual representations of real-world environments. A process of the disclosed technology can include steps for: processing image sensor data to identify one or more images of road paint; identifying a geographic location that is associated with the one or more images of road paint; and generating, within a simulated environment corresponding to the geographic location, at least one road paint mesh object that is based on the one or more images of road paint.
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide apparatus, systems and methods for stimulating tissue in the urinary tract to initiate or facilitate urination. One embodiment provides an external urinary sphincter stimulation (EUSS) catheter for stimulating the external urinary sphincter (EUS), where the EUSS catheter includes nerve stimulation electrodes (NSES) for delivering current to nerves within or around the EUS in order to relax the EUS prior to urination. Other embodiments provide a system for stimulating the EUS including the EUSS catheter and a controller operatively coupled to the EUSS catheter, where the controller includes a pulse generator for delivering current to the NSES. Other embodiments provide methods for positioning the EUSS catheter in the patient's body including in the EUS using a urethral approach. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for initiating and/or controlling urination for patients who have lost the ability to voluntarily urinate due to neurogenic bladder dysfunction.
Abstract: A baseball grip training device is provided for use with a baseball bat, comprising a base adapted to contact a bat grip, wherein the base includes one or more shaped surfaces adapted to receive one or more of an index finger and a middle finger of a user; a retaining member extending from the base shaped to surround one or more of the index finger and the middle finger of the user; and a bat contacting surface adapted to contact the bat grip, wherein the bat contacting surface and the shaped surfaces are separated by a predetermined distance to lift the index finger and the middle finger of the user away from the bat grip sufficient to place greater reliance on the remaining fingers to hold the bat grip during a swing of the bat. The device is preferably constructed from a resilient material.

Abstract: A method/system described herein addresses the intrinsic nonlinearity of electrooptic modulators and the restrictions placed on the signals dynamic range in applications such as data communication and sensing. Linear electro-optic modulation utilizing ring resonator electrooptic modulators is produced over a dramatically wider range of the input signal amplitude, which improves the dynamic range and the amount of information that is transmitted via laser light. A distributed and subranging design “folds” the large dynamic range across multiple linear subranges, with each subrange being addressed using a unique optical wavelength, or a unique optical fiber, or a unique free space path. The subrange within the wide dynamic range of the input signal is captured by the linear portion of the transfer function of a single transfer function. This enables the efficient use of optical links for the transmission and processing of analog and multilevel signals, overcoming the limitations that were hindering progress.
Abstract: A system and method for an air purification assembly that creates high volume, sterilized straight-line airflow with a significant reduction in electricity consumption utilizing counter rotation of two propellers mounted in reverse to create linear airflow and thrust that sucks in air through an inlet and blows the air out through an outlet. Air purification assembly may also sterilize the air as it passes through light utilizing a light core system with a ring-shaped assembly that has one or more UV-C LEDs that may kill bio-organisms within proximity to the air purification assembly while dissipating the heat created by the UVC LED lights in the light core system.
Abstract: A device and associated method for centrifuging a physiological fluid includes a syringe including a tip, a base and a barrel extending between the tip and the base to hold a physiological fluid. The syringe includes a plunger positioned within the barrel and the plunger includes a plunger seal in sealing engagement with an inside wall of the barrel. An exoskeleton is provided to support the syringe at least partially within the exoskeleton for use in a centrifuge. The syringe is removably coupled to the exoskeleton using an interference fit. The method includes holding the physiological fluid in the syringe, supporting the syringe at least partially within the exoskeleton, and centrifuging the physiological fluid in the syringe supported by the exoskeleton.

Abstract: Systems and methods for object detection. Object detection may be used to control autonomous vehicle(s). For example, the methods comprise: obtaining, by a computing device, a LiDAR dataset generated by a LiDAR system of the autonomous vehicle; and using, by the computing device. The LiDAR dataset and image(s) are used to detect an object that is in proximity to the autonomous vehicle. The object is detected by: computing a distribution of object detections that each point of the LiDAR dataset is likely to be in; creating a plurality of segments of LiDAR data points using the distribution of object detections; and detecting the object in a point cloud defined by the LiDAR dataset based on the plurality of segments of LiDAR data points. The object detection may be used to facilitate at least one autonomous driving operation.
