  • Patent number: 12260964
Abstract: A detection apparatus includes a resonant electrical circuit supported within an interior of a nuclear fuel rod generates a response pulse in response to an excitation pure and transmits the response pulse through a cladding of the fuel rod to another location within a reactor in which the fuel rod is housed and without any breach in the cladding. A characteristic of the response pulse is indicative of a condition of the fuel rod. The detection apparatus also includes a transmitter positioned outside the cladding, in the reactor, in the vicinity of the fuel rod and configured to generate the excitation pulse and transmit the excitation pulse through the cladding to the resonant electrical circuit. A receiver is supported within the reactor outside of the cladding and, in response to the response pulse, communicates a signal to an electronic processing apparatus outside of the reactor.

  • Patent number: 12260338
Abstract: A transformer-based neural network includes at least one mask attention network (MAN). The MAN computes an original attention data structure that expresses influence between pairs of data items in a sequence of data items. The MAN then modifies the original data structure by mask values in a mask data structure, to produce a modified attention data structure. Compared to the original attention data structure, the modified attention data structure better accounts for the influence of neighboring data items in the sequence of data items, given a particular data item under consideration. The mask data structure used by the MAN can have static and/or machine-trained mask values. In one implementation, the transformer-based neural network includes at least one MAN in combination with at least one other attention network that does not use a mask data structure, and at least one feed-forward neural network.

  • Patent number: 12258749
Abstract: A hanger for attaching a structural beam to a building substructure has a first panel spaced from a second panel with a web extending therebetween. The web includes a bias member or compression member for biasing a beam upward. The web may include an opening through the bias member for receipt of a fastener driven from underneath the web into a beam received by the web, whereby driving of the fastener into the beam pulls the beam downward against the bias of the compression member. Additional versions exist with different leveraging surfaces to assist the fastener in pulling the beam downward. The hanger may also include one or more openings in the side panels, each opening associating with an opening in a rear panel to receive a fastener driven obliquely through a side panel opening into a beam and a building support member to attach the beam.

  • Patent number: 12260028
Abstract: A data input system is described for inputting text items to an electronic device. The data input system has a store holding a vocabulary of embeddings of text items, each embedding being a numerical encoding of a text item. The data input system receives user input comprising a sequence of one or more context text items and a new text item, the new text item being a text item with an embedding to be computed and added to the vocabulary or with an embedding already in the vocabulary and to be updated. A neural network predictor predicts a next text item in the sequence given the context text items and the vocabulary. An online training module updates the vocabulary by using either a direction associated with the predicted next item, or, by comparing the new text item and the predicted next text item.

  • Patent number: 12256656
Abstract: An agricultural trench depth sensing system and method includes a light source (2002), a receiver (2003) and a sensor (2004). The light source directs light downwardly toward a trench previously opened in a soil surface. The receiver is disposed at an angle relative to the light source to receive reflected light. A sensor connected to the receiver senses a pattern of the reflected light. A monitoring system in communication with the sensor, generates a data frame containing triangulated line coordinates and intensity values of the reflected light indicative of a measured depth of the trench. The generated data frame may be associated with GPS coordinates for generating spatial maps and may be used to control operating parameters. The generated data frames may also identify relative soil moisture versus trench depth, or presence of dry topsoil or residue in the trench, or to identify seeds, seed spacing and seed depth.
