Abstract: Systems and methods for calibrating and initializing a system comprising a first qubit, a second qubit, and a coupler are provided. A method of initializing the system can include calibrating the system; providing a first idle resonance frequency of the first qubit and a second idle resonance frequency of the second qubit; providing the first bias for the first idle resonance frequency and the second bias for the second idle resonance frequency; determining a value of the third resonance frequency at which a difference between the first degree of coupling and the second degree of coupling is minimized, when the first resonance frequency is the first idle resonance frequency and the second resonance frequency is the second idle resonance frequency; and providing the third bias according to the determined value of the third resonance frequency.

The cooling cartridge including a cooling medium so that the liquid transitions to a second temperature lower than the first temperature as it flows from the first reservoir to the second reservoir.

Abstract: A sound isolation assembly comprising: one or more backing plates; one or more acoustic isolators; and a backing block. The acoustic isolators may be secured between the backing plates and the backing block when the backing plates are fastened to the backing block. When the backing plates are fastened to the backing block, the backing plates are substantially prevented by the acoustic isolators from being in direct contact with the backing block. The acoustic isolators may be fastened to the studs. The sound isolation assembly, when installed in a wall that is supporting a heavy load, raises the Sound Transmission Class rating of that wall.

Abstract: Cards having a hybrid construction including a biodegradable portion and related methods are disclosed. A card can include a card body having a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface, the top and bottom surfaces meeting at a peripheral edge of the card body; and a first portion secured to a second portion such that the top surface of the card body spans both the first and second portions and the bottom surface is formed entirely of the second portion. The card can further include a chip secured to the first portion of the card body; wherein the peripheral edge includes at least an insertion edge of the first portion; wherein the second portion of the card body comprises a biodegradable material; and wherein the first portion and a recyclable portion meet at a frangible junction on the top surface of the card body.

Abstract: A virtualized computing environment includes a plurality of host computers, each host being connected to a physical network and having a hypervisor executing therein. To provision a virtual machine requiring a connection to a virtual network in one of the hosts, a candidate host for hosting the virtual machine, the candidate host having the virtual network configured therein, is selected. A request is then made for a status of the virtual network to the candidate host. The status of the virtual network is then received from the candidate host. If the virtual network is available, then the virtual machine is deployed to the candidate host. If the virtual network is not available, then a second candidate host is selected for hosting the virtual machine.

Abstract: A method for dynamically computing a handrail influence intensity factor includes the steps of identifying a current location of a vehicle, retrieving map data of an area corresponding to the current location of the vehicle, identifying a current road of the vehicle based on the map data and the current location of the vehicle, determining at least one of one or more roads that intersect the current road and one or more roads closest to the current road, retrieving a vehicle heading for the vehicle, determining a set of candidate roads, determining a relative target heading for each candidate road in the set of candidate roads, calculating a handrail influence intensity factor based on a distance between the current location of the vehicle and a closest point on each candidate road and based on a difference between the vehicle heading and the relative target heading for each candidate road.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for verifying physical presence of a mobile device as part of an electronic transaction. Tags may be generated and displayed on one or more display devices. Those tags, which may be time-limited, may be read by a mobile device to verify physical presence of the mobile device as a prerequisite to initiating, continuing with, or completing an electronic transaction, and/or as a decision point in how the electronic transaction is to be conducted.

Abstract: A system for automatically handling components to be assembled onto a product on an assembly line includes a carriage that is movable to and between a first, retracted position spaced from the assembly line, and a second position displaced from the retracted position in a direction toward the assembly line. A manipulator on the carriage supports a component mounting tool configured to receive and support at least one component for assembly to the product. The manipulator may be arranged in a first orientation when the carriage is in the first position, and may be pivoted to a second orientation when the carriage is in the second position, such that a component on the component mounting tool is supported in a pose for processing when the carriage is in the first position, and is supported in a pose for joining to the product when the carriage is in the second position.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for deploying software-implemented resources in a software defined datacenter (SDDC). The method initially receives a hierarchical API command that, in a declarative format, specifies several operation requests for several software-defined (SD) resources at several resource levels of a resource hierarchy in the SDDC. The method parses the API command to identify the SD resources at the plurality of resource levels. Based on the parsed API command, the method deploys the SD resources by using a deployment process that ensures that any first SD resource on which a second SD resource depends is deployed before the second resource. In some embodiments, a second SD resource depends on a first SD resource when the second SD resource is a child of the first SD resource. Alternatively, or conjunctively, a second SD resource can also depend on a first SD resource in some embodiments when the second SD resource has some operational dependency on the first SD resource.

Abstract: An embodiment system and method for dispensing multiple dairy products includes a dispenser which houses two or more dairy product bases with different formulations, which may be combined with or without water to create a multitude of homogenous dairy beverages. The two or more dairy product bases may be mixed together first and then separately mixed with water, mixed together simultaneously with water, or mixed together without adding water. They may be mixed together with or without additional flavoring, ingredients, mineral or nutritional additives. The dispenser includes a pump with a quick-release mechanism to allow for quick and clean maintenance of the system.

Abstract: Herbicidal microcapsules containing a combination of herbicides are described. In particular, the herbicidal microcapsules include a core material comprising an acetamide herbicide and a second herbicide and a shell wall encapsulating the core material. Also described are processes for preparing the microcapsules, various herbicidal compositions containing the microcapsules, and methods of preparing and using the herbicidal compositions.

Abstract: A method includes obtaining training data including a plurality of training audio signals and corresponding transcripts. Each training audio signal is spoken by a target speaker in a first accent/dialect. For each training audio signal of the training data, the method includes generating a training synthesized speech representation spoken by the target speaker in a second accent/dialect different than the first accent/dialect and training a text-to-speech (TTS) system based on the corresponding transcript and the training synthesized speech representation. The method also includes receiving an input text utterance to be synthesized into speech in the second accent/dialect. The method also includes obtaining conditioning inputs that include a speaker embedding and an accent/dialect identifier that identifies the second accent/dialect.
