Abstract: The present invention provides writing compositions that are capable of being erased or changed in color chemically. The present invention also provides erasing media for erasing or changing the color of marks produced with the writing compositions, as well as writing systems and incorporating the erasing media and the writing compositions. The present invention further provides writing instruments produced using the writing compositions.

Abstract: A tile-setting lippage control system and method for tiles set with mortar as floors or walls on prepared surfaces, providing tab-and-wedge pairs with a footed tab having a footplate, a wedge slot having a membrane, a multi-tapered descending portion having a thicker center, tapering base, and tapering sides, and a ridged upper portion having a reinforced upper edge, and with a tensioning wedge having a leading end, wedge bottom, tapered top edge, and wedge teeth. In use, the wedge bottom and the footplate apply a constant compressive force to two adjacent pieces of tile. The size, shape, and location of the wedge slot with the tapered top edge of the tensioning wedge accommodate a range of tile thicknesses by insertion of the tensioning wedge to different depths. Optionally, flap cuts in the ridged upper portion provide for formation of a top flap and side flaps which lock in engagement with the wedge teeth of the tensioning wedge.

Abstract: In order to lower the peak and average current through the channel (thereby lowering peak and average power consumption) during program-verify, which exhibits a word line dependency, the inventors propose to program dummy memory cells connected to a dummy word line before programming data memory cells connected to a data word line. The additional resistance in the NAND string introduced by the preprogrammed dummy memory cells will cause the peak current, and power consumption, to be lower. To address the word line dependency, the dummy memory cells connected to the dummy word line can be programmed to different threshold voltages based on which data word line is to be programmed. Thus, prior to programming data non-volatile memory cells connected to a particular data word line, the dummy memory cells are programmed to a threshold voltage that is chosen based on the position of the particular data word line.

One example includes a method or technique that can be performed on a computing device. The method or technique can include obtaining a battery charge level of a battery of a battery-powered user device and accessing user data for a user of the battery-powered user device. The user data can reflect previous usage sessions of the user with the battery-powered user device. The method or technique can also include predicting a future usage session of the user with the battery-powered user device based on the user data. The method or technique can also include estimating confidence that the battery will last through the future usage session based on the battery charge level and the predicted future usage session. The method or technique can also include triggering a charging notification prior to the future usage session based on the estimated confidence.

The system reads the physical tracking tag to determine the physical identifier and assigns different, unique virtual identifiers for different uses of the object. The system may store each virtual identifier with information describing the corresponding use of the object. The system may generate a running cycle count for the object, where the system may use the cycle count to determine when to stop re-using the object. The object may be a refurbishable labware consumable, such as a physically barcoded microplate, where the system assigns virtual identifiers and cycle count to the consumable and cleans the consumable to enable multiple re-uses of the consumable with (i) each use being assigned a unique virtual identifier and (ii) the consumable having the same physical barcode.

A data structure linking the real-time data obtained with unique location identifiers is generated, and demographic information is accessed for the respective locations using the location identifiers. An artificial neural network generates a financial prediction indicating an expected financial performance of the car wash if constructed at the geographic location based on the data structure. A determination can be made whether to construct the new wash at the geographic location based on whether an expected financial performance of the car wash at the geographic location satisfies a minimum performance threshold.
