Abstract: A covering for reinforcing a base layer of a nuclear fuel cladding is provided. The covering comprises a first layer configured to cover a first portion of the outer surface of the base layer of the nuclear fuel cladding, a second layer surrounding the first layer and the base layer and a third layer surrounding the second layer. The first layer comprises a fiber based material, the second layer comprises an interfacing material and the third layer comprises Chromium. A reinforced cladding for nuclear fuel and a method for producing a reinforced nuclear fuel cladding are also provided.

Abstract: A method may include placing a bottom facer on a conveyor, placing a core layer on the bottom facer placing a top facer on the core layer, and pressing the bottom facer, the core layer, and the top facer in a hot press to form a panel, wherein the hot press causes the bottom facer to shrink relative to the top facer, introducing a warp into the panel such that, when installed, the warp compensates for an installation warp and the panel is flat upon installation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing a layer of sediment which has settled on the bottom of a large water body includes using a structural frame configured to contain a bottom water flow and for containing liquid and suspended particles dispersed during removal of bottom sediment in a suctioning area that is at least about 3 square feet, up to and including 8 square feet, that has support elements and/or silt containing elements, with a plurality of supporting wheels. A sediment removing vacuum unit is operably associated with the structural frame to conduct suctioned bottom water flow through suction lines to a filtering station outside of the water body, such that the water can then be returned to the large water body.

Abstract: An archery assembly and method are disclosed herein. The archery assembly, in an embodiment, includes a mount portion, a support portion, and an arrow holder. The mount portion includes a face surface and a first dovetail structure. The face surface is configured to at least partially contact a rear surface of a bow riser when the mount portion is mounted to the bow riser. The support portion includes a second dovetail structure. The arrow holder is supported by the support portion.

Abstract: An element to be used as an anode in a lithium-ion battery comprising a lithiated single crystal porous-silicon layer made on the surface of a p-doped single crystal Si of thickness 25-1000 mm and resistivity of less than 0.01-ohm cm. Successful lithiation is achieved either electrochemically or by direct alloying of lithium metal with the porous-Si with a wide range of porosities. The lithiated silicon anode allows a high cathode loading in a lithium-ion battery resulting in record current densities without the formation of lithium dendrites.

Abstract: A system for monitoring bearing wear in a circular clarifier drive is provided. The system includes a drive motor comprising at least one gear operatively coupled to at least a bridge platform, skimmer, and header of the circular clarifier drive. The at least one gear is rotatable within a housing of the circular clarifier drive on a plurality of bearings positioned therebetween. The system further includes at least one sensor constructed and arranged to measure a gap between at least one stop block of the housing and the at least one gear and determine if the measured gap is within a predetermined range. Methods of retrofitting a circular clarifier drive including a drive motor operatively coupled to at least one gear disposed within a housing and a plurality of bearings positioned between the at least one gear and the housing are also provided.

Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of systems, apparatuses, and methods that include an improved packer bypass assembly. The packer bypass assembly includes a first end and a second end, where a primary bore extends between the first and second end. The packer bypass assembly further includes a bypass bore through which flow may travel separate from that in the primary bore. The bypass bore may include a check valve that only permits flow in one direction. By providing two flow bores that support flow in opposite directions in the same packer bypass assembly, gas injected into an annulus between the casing and the packer bypass assembly can “bypass” the packer assembly and travel to an injection valve situated in the well below the packer.

The computing device may receive adult consumer identity information corresponding to the adult consumer from the adult consumer, receive the UID of the RRD, transmit the adult consumer identity information and the UID of the RRD to the identity verification server to perform identity verification of the adult consumer, receive results of the performed identity verification from the identity verification server, receive an encrypted key corresponding to the RRD based on the results of the performed identity verification of the adult consumer, and transmit the encrypted key to the RRD. The RRD may change the state of the RRD to an operable state based on the encrypted key.

Abstract: Systems and methods for conducting a videoconference including receiving multimedia streams of a plurality of participants in a multimedia conference, the multimedia streams including audio components and video components and displaying video tiles of the participants on a display screen. The audio components and/or the video components of the multimedia streams are analyzed to detect characteristics indicative of a first participant and a second participant having a first conversation with each other. Camera positions on the computing devices of the participants are identified. In response to identifying that the first participant and the second participant are having the first conversation with each other, a video tile for the first participant and a video tile for the second participant are moved to edges of the respective display screens toward the camera positions.
