Abstract: A threshing and separating system for a combine harvester includes a threshing cage and a plurality of movable vanes mounted to the threshing cage. The threshing cage partially surrounds a threshing rotor. The plurality of movable vanes are moveable between a first position in which all of the vanes of the plurality of movable vanes are substantially parallel with one another and a second position in which an acute angle is defined between each pair of adjacent vanes of the plurality of movable vanes. The acute angles progressively increase in the rearward direction of the threshing cage such that the acute angle between adjacent vanes at a forward end of the threshing cage is less than the acute angle between adjacent vanes at a rearward end of the threshing cage.

Abstract: Safety devices and methods of using a safety device are described. An example safety device includes a storage member and a retention device. The storage member has a first portion, a second portion, and defines a first chamber. The second portion is moveable between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration the second portion is releasably attached to the first portion such that the first portion and the second portion cooperatively define the chamber. In the second configuration the second portion is free of attachment to the first portion. The retention device is disposed within the chamber and has a retaining arm.

Abstract: Methods for aligning an extended reality (XR) environment with a physical environment such that a physical position and movement of a physical entity within the physical environment is identically aligned and identically mirrored by a corresponding XR position and corresponding movement of an XR entity within the XR environment. The alignment process assigns a position to the XR environment with respect to the physical environment such that certain elements of one environment are defined as being co-planar with certain surfaces of the other environment. Next, two planes or two lines in one environment intersect to define a first intersection. A second intersection in the other environment is located at the intersection of the first environment to align the two environments.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for enhancing the function of and reducing environmental impact of a disposable camera. The method may include assembling an apparatus, which may comprise an enclosure, a printed circuit board containing a light sensor, one or more reusable components, and a disposable camera. The apparatus may then be transferred to a user. After use, the apparatus may then be received and a film may be extracted from it, which may be developed into one or more photos. The apparatus may then be separated into component parts, with each part identified as reusable or unusable. The unusable components may then be disposed of via a disposal step, while the reusable components may be assembled again for future use. The developed photos may then be transferred to the user, and the unusable components may be transferred to a waste facility for proper disposal.

Abstract: A heat exchanger for a nuclear reactor is provided. The heat exchanger comprises a first layer for flowing a first process fluid and a second layer for flowing a second process fluid. The first layer is comprised of a first material and the second layer is comprised of a second material differing in composition from the first material. The first layer and the second layer are stacked on each other in a core of the heat exchanger and the first layer and the second layer are bonded to each other. A heat exchanger for a nuclear reactor and a method for producing a heat exchanger are also provided.

Abstract: This document describes systems and techniques that enable continuous personalization of face authentication. In aspects, an authentication system associated with a network includes an authentication manager. The authentication manager receives an embedding representing image data associated with a user's face. The authentication manager generates a confidence score based on the embedding. Further, the authentication manager updates previously enrolled embeddings with the embedding based on the confidence score, the embedding meeting a clustering confidence threshold. Through such a technique, the authentication manager can alter the previously enrolled embeddings by which a future embedding is used to authenticate the user's face. By so doing, the techniques may provide more-accurate and successful user authentication over time.

The base station receives at least one first radio resource control (RRC) message comprising: a first information element indicating, to the base station, that an RRC connection of the wireless device is for the RLOS, and a second information element comprising an attach request message indicating, to a mobility management entity (MME) configured with an RLOS access point name, that an attach request of the wireless device is for the RLOS. The base station sends, to the wireless device, a second RRC message comprising an attach accept message indicating acceptance of the RLOS by the MME.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are implantable and non-implantable devices coated with an anti-TRAP agent. A system is also disclosed comprising an implantable device or a non-implantable device and a tissue-injectable/infusible liquid, oil or gel comprising an anti-TRAP agent. A system incorporating a drug-injecting pen is described. Medical biomaterials that inhibit TRAPs are discussed, as well as air pouch models for analyzing products and materials. Corresponding methods also are described.

A blood circulation assist system includes a VAD, a controller, and a remote accelerometer. The VAD includes an impeller. The remote accelerometer is configured to generate a remote accelerometer output indicative of accelerations measured by the remote accelerometer. The implanted controller controls a rotation speed of the impeller based on the remote accelerometer output.

Abstract: A technique produces a reduced-size language model using explanation tuning. Explanation tuning composes a prompt that includes two parts: a system instruction and a client instruction. The client instruction expresses a query. The system instruction requests a language model to formulate responses to queries that describe final results and processes of producing the final results. The language model responds to the prompt by providing a language-model response that describes a final result and a process of producing the final result, e.g., by providing a step-by-step explanation of how the final result is derivable. In some implementations, the technique uses a teacher-student approach to producing the reduced-size language model. In some examples, the technique performs training in two stages using two respective teacher language models, the first-stage model being less versatile and accurate compared to the second-stage model.

The rotor includes magnets attached to the exterior surface and a rotor shaft support structure disposed within the interior region of the hollow cylindrical member and attached to the interior wall of the hollow cylindrical member. A rotor shaft is attached to the rotor shaft support structure. The electric machine further comprises bearings to locate and support the rotor shaft relative to the housing.

Abstract: Example embodiments of a product authentication method may include triggering a first authentication process in response to sensing a conductive ink in proximity to a computing device having a set of sensors and performing a second authentication process. The first authentication process may include initiating an application on the computing device when the set of sensors senses the conductive ink. And the second authentication process may be performed by the application on the computing device and may include sending a code to a remote server and receiving a validity determination from the remote server.
