Abstract: A neutron flux detector comprising a source material and a solid state radiation detector is disclosed. The source material is configured to produce gamma photons greater than or equal to 6.8 MeV during neutron capture. The solid state radiation detector comprises a Schottky diode and an emitter layer comprising a Compton and photoelectron source material. The emitter layer is configured to receive the gamma photons produced by the source material. The emitter layer is spaced apart from the Schottky diode a distance such that a gap is defined between the emitter layer and the Schottky diode. The distance is selected such that only electrons produced by the emitter layer as a result of the emitter layer absorbing the gamma photons will contribute to a measured output signal of the Schottky diode.

Abstract: A vehicle accessory mount system is provided that includes a ball-and-socket joint. The socket portion includes a non-metallic material, and the ball portion includes a metallic material whereby the non-metallic material exhibits elasticity to allow a surface of the socket portion to temporarily deform in order to conform to imperfections in the surface of the ball portion as the ball portion inserts into the socket portion under pressure. As the ball portion is caused to rotate within the socket portion under pressure, the elasticity of the socket portion allows a surface of the socket portion to adapt and conform to the changing locations of the imperfections of the ball portion in relation to the socket portion.

Abstract: An Airsoft shotgun firing mechanism has been developed that fires the spherical projectiles of each shot sequentially in rapid succession. The shotgun firing mechanism directs the airflow sequentially against each spherical projectile in the shot, thus pushing each spherical projectile out of the barrel of the Airsoft shotgun. The flow rates of the air are balanced for all the spherical projectiles so all of the spherical projectiles are accelerating when the last spherical projectile is fired. By balancing the airflows, the spherical projectiles have essentially the same energy. The relative acceleration of the spherical projectiles out of the shotgun barrel is determined or selected by balancing the size and configuration of a bypass channel versus the number or stack of spherical projectiles to be fired.

Abstract: Various arrangements for performing wireless device-to-device communication are presented. An audio output device, such as an earbud or pair of earbuds, can establish a connection with an audio source via a first Bluetooth interface that communicates using a Bluetooth communication protocol on a 2.4 GHz Bluetooth frequency band. The audio output device can negotiate that Bluetooth frequency-shifted communication, such as on a 5 or 6 GHz frequency band, is available for use with the audio source. The audio output device may then perform Bluetooth frequency-shifted communication with the audio source such that the audio output device receives an audio stream from the audio source using Bluetooth frequency-shifted communication and the Bluetooth communication protocol.
