Abstract: Methods and systems are described for treating a fluid that includes a particulate fraction and a soluble fraction, such as wastewater fluid including biosolids. The treatment includes biochemically transforming solids in the particulate fraction of the fluid in a biochemical process while simultaneously subjecting the fluid to a vacuum pressure, and evaporating off at least a portion of the soluble fraction of the fluid and thereby thickening a remaining portion of the fluid. A residence time of the particulate fraction can be controlled to be at least 25% greater than a residence time of the soluble fraction, for example. A solids content of the particulate fraction can be controlled to be in a range of from 2% to 99%, for example.

Abstract: The presently disclosed inventive concept(s) relates generally to a rheology-modifier composition comprising 0.05 wt. % to 70.0 wt. % of an acrylamide polymer having a weight average molecular weight of greater than 6 million Daltons, and 30.0 wt. % to 99.95 wt. % of at least one cellulose ether. Further, the presently disclosed inventive concept(s) also relates to a method of making the rheology modifier composition and an aqueous coating composition comprising the same.

Abstract: Systems and methods for protecting privacy-relevant data from unauthorized disclosure in source code of an application. For instance, the present disclosure provides a plurality of technical features including: a privacy-relevant data analyzer that analyzes source code, detects privacy-relevant data in the source code, and generates a report of instances of detected privacy-relevant data. In some examples, the privacy-relevant data analyzer scans through source code to detect annotations that denote if fields, records, or combinations thereof include privacy-relevant data. The privacy-relevant data analyzer further generates and provides a report of detected privacy issues associated with sensitive data included in source code so that the issues can be resolved to ensure that privacy is not breached.

Abstract: A transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) transistor includes a substrate, an n-type two-dimensional (2D) TMD layer, a metal source electrode, a metal drain electrode, and a gate dielectric. The substrate has a top portion that is an insulating layer, and the n-type 2D TMD layer is on the insulating layer. The metal source electrode, the metal drain electrode, and the gate dielectric are on the n-type 2D TMD layer. The metal gate electrode is on top of the gate dielectric and is between the metal source electrode and the metal drain electrode.

Abstract: A seatbelt retractor includes a frame and a spool having a first end and a second end each rotatably supported by the frame. The spool is elongated on an axis from the first end to the second end. The seatbelt retractor includes a plurality of torsion posts fixed to the frame. The seatbelt retractor includes a locking device operatively coupled between the spool and the plurality of torsion posts.

Abstract: A data processing system implements receiving a far-end signal associated with a first computing device participating in an online communication session and receiving a near-end signal associated with a second computing device participating in the online communication session. The near-end signal includes speech of a target speaker, a first interfering speaker, and an echo signal. The system further implements providing the far-end signal, the near-end signal, and an indication of the target speaker as an input to a machine learning model. The machine learning model trained to analyze the far-end signal and the near-end signal to perform personalized noise suppression (PNS) to remove speech from one or more interfering speakers and acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) to remove echoes. The model is trained to output an audio signal comprising speech of the target speaker. The system obtains the audio signal comprising the speech of the target speaker from the model.

Abstract: A chain binder to connect and apply tension to chains, straps, or the like used to secure cargo on any type of platform or vehicle. The chain binder includes a lever body; a first side portion; a second side portion; and gears that effectuate two modes of operation. Namely, a power driven mode of operation or a manual lever mode of operation. Rotations of the gears causes hooks or connectors, via movement of eye-bolts, toward each other to place tension in the chains or strap. Opposite rotations of the gears causes hooks or connectors, via movement of eye-bolts, away from each other to relax the chains or strap. If components are damages during use, they may be replaced on an as-needed basis to reduce operational cost of the chain binder since the entire binder does not need replaced when only one component fails or is damaged.

Abstract: A fiber link system and method for masking signals on a fiber link system. The system includes sending a desired sequence of information in the form of a true optical signal that is typically intended to be transferred between legitimate users at both ends of a link over a center core of a the spatially multiplexing optical fiber that is a multicore fiber. Optical chaff signals, or subterfuge signals, are sent alongside the true signal in at least one, non-center core of the spatially multiplexing optical fiber to mask such true signal in the fiber cable from intruders tapping into the fiber cable. At least one of the chaff signals occupies substantially a same optical frequency range as the true signal. The optical signals may be coupled into the multiplexing optical fiber using a transmit spatial multiplexer.

The system may receive a transfer request that includes a resource allocation request, generate a first blockchain function request for a list of contributor identifiers and condition sets, receive the list of contributor identifiers and condition sets, determine a subset of the list of contributor identifiers and condition sets, generate a second blockchain function request, and transmit the second operation request to a blockchain node.

Abstract: A system and method for providing on-demand edge compute. The system may include an orchestrator that provides a UI and that controls an abstraction layer for implementing a workflow for providing on-demand edge compute. The abstraction layer may include a server configuration orchestration (SCO) system (e.g., a Metal-as-a-Service (MaaS) system) and API that may provide an interface between the orchestrator and the SCO. The API may enable the orchestrator to communicate with the SCO for receiving requests that enable the SCO to integrate with existing compute resources to perform various compute provisioning tasks (e.g., to build and provision a server instance). The various tasks, when executed, may provide on-demand edge compute service to users. The SCO API may further enable the ECS orchestrator to receive information from the SCO (e.g., compute resource information, status messages).

Abstract: Presented are hybrid fixture assemblies with integrated additive manufactured features, methods for making/using such fixtures, and manufacturing systems equipped with such fixtures. A manufacturing fixture assembly includes a fixture support frame formed, at least in part, from a first material, and a fixture support shell formed, at least in part, from a second material distinct from the first material. The support frame, which seats on/mounts to a work surface, includes a skeletal substructure with multiple male connectors projecting therefrom. The skeletal substructure contains multiple first frame walls that are removably intermeshed with multiple second frame walls in a collapsible format. The support shell includes a support surface that holds a workpiece, an interface surface that abuts the skeletal substructure, and multiple female connectors that project from the interface surface.

The electronic vaporizer includes a controller configured to sense an operating temperature of the heating element. The heating circuit is encapsulated within the heating element base and has a first terminal and a second terminal. The first electronic lead is connected to the first terminal of the heating circuit. The second electronic lead is connected to the second terminal of the heating circuit. The first thermocouple wire is coupled to the first electronic lead. The second thermocouple wire is coupled to the second electronic lead. The first and second thermocouple wires are composed from different materials and configured to be connected to respective inputs of the controller.

A producer computer associated with a blockchain may receive production information indicating an amount of a resource produced, a batch identifier for the resource produced, and a plurality of wallet identifiers for a corresponding plurality of resource recipients. The produce computer may determine a number of blocks for the blockchain to generate for representing a unit of the resource produced of the amount of resource produced. The producer computer may generate a plurality of blocks on the blockchain according to the number of blocks and using the production information. The plurality of blocks may include a plurality of sets of blocks for a corresponding resource recipient of the plurality of resource recipients. Each block in the set of blocks for the corresponding resource recipient including a wallet identifier for the resource recipient.

Abstract: A video encoder is configured to encode a bitstream to be decoded by a compliant decoder receiving the bistream. The bitstream including a first coded picture having a first resolution and a second coded picture having a second resolution, wherein the first coded picture is an intra-coded picture, parameters defining a cropping window. The decoder decodes the first coded picture and stores the first picture as a reference picture, determines a scaling factor from at least one parameter in the bitstream defining the first cropping window, determines a predictor for the second picture from the reference picture and the scaling factor, decodes the second coded picture using the predictor, and outputs for display the first picture as cropped in accordance with the parameters defining the cropping window.

Abstract: A method for video encoding includes determining a filter shape of a cross-component filter applied to a chroma coding block (CB), generating a first intermediate CB by applying a loop filter to the chroma CB, and generating a second intermediate CB by applying, to a corresponding luma CB, the cross-component filter applied to the chroma CB and having the determined filter shape. The method further includes determining a filtered chroma CB based on the first intermediate CB and the second intermediate CB by combining the loop filtered chroma CB with the cross-component filtered luma CB, and generating coded information of the chroma CB in a coded video bitstream. Determining the filter shape includes determining the filter shape of the cross-component filter based on the number of the filter coefficients and based on at least one of (i) the chroma subsampling format or (ii) the chroma sample type.
