Abstract: A system and method of split rendering for lightfield or immersive media by using an edge-cloud and peer-to-peer based architecture. The system and method include the use of a combination of cloud-based devices and edge-devices to provide distributed processing in connection with the streaming of media, and in particular lightfield or immersive media, to an end user device. The system and method further include the use of multiple cloud and edge devices to provide parallel streaming of a given media package to an end user device.

Abstract: A thermal retention apparatus includes a tank and a phase change thermal energy storage unit contained within the tank that, in turn, includes a phase change material and a heat exchanger assembly. Abstract: An atom trap integrated platform (ATIP) comprises a substrate, a membrane, and a suspended waveguide. The substrate has an opening formed therein. The membrane extends across a portion of the substrate opening. The suspended waveguide is formed on the membrane such that the suspended waveguide extends from a first edge of the substrate to a second edge. A magneto-optical trap (MOT) is formed around the suspended waveguide by emitting a plurality of cooling beams and a repump through the substrate opening. Evanescent fields are established above the suspended waveguide by coupling two trapping beams through the suspended waveguide, which trapping beams are red-detuned and blue-detuned with respect to the resonant optical transition of the atoms. By forming the MOT within the evanescent fields, an evanescent field optical trap (EFOT) is formed.

Abstract: Described herein is a system and method for validating media integrity using asymmetric key cryptography utilizing a public/private cryptographic key pair. The private key is kept secret and is known to an originator and/or publisher of a media file. The public key is added to the media file and is used to validate integrity of the media file, that is, that content of the media file (e.g., portion(s), frame(s)) has not been altered since publication of the media file. By validating integrity of the media file, strong proof that the media file came from an owner of the keypair (e.g., had possession of the private key) can be obtained, for example, resolving issues of trust and/or authenticity common in altered content. In some embodiments, information regarding an origin of the content can further be determined.

Abstract: A device maintains proper downspout conductor pipe spacing and alignment. This stationary device attaches directly to the foundation of a home in any location utilizing different embodiments for straight walls, inside corners and outside corner conditions. The device provides fixtures or mounts to position the downspout accurately and reliably relative to the foundation and other components of the house or building. The device may be turned vertically in conjunction with a specifically formed soil and gravel guard to run downspout conductor pipes along the outside of a foundation before it is backfilled. By installing this system before backfilling, the installer is able to chalk line a path with consistent fall to ensure proper water flow through the pipe.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, or computer-readable medium may include estimating local motion of an input video frame of an input video by computing a local motion vector corresponding to a respective candidate pixel patch from among one or more candidate pixel patches within the input video frame. Global motion may be estimated by computing a global motion vector. One or more subject motion vectors may be computed based on a corresponding local motion vector and the global motion vector. A number of static frames of the video may be identified. The input video may be determined to be a static video if a ratio of the number of static frames to a number of the video frames in the input video meets a static frame threshold and determining that the input video is a motion video if the ratio fails to meet the static frame threshold.
Abstract: Techniques for evaluating software systems are provided, including measurement of performance ratings of features of an app-under-test are described. The evaluation may include analysis of a video recording of the user interface of the app-under-test, where the video analysis may include comparing the changes over time of co-located pixel in the video to produce a performance rating, for example a speed index. The results of multiple such tests can be compared by comparing the performance rating produced during execution of different tests.

The apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to generate an initial feature representation from an input image to be encoded and perform an iterative update of values of a plurality of elements in the initial feature representation. The iterative update includes generate a coded representation corresponding to a final feature representation based on the final feature representation that has been updated from the initial feature representation by a number of iterations of the iterative update. A reconstructed image corresponding to the final feature representation is generated based on the coded representation. An encoded image corresponding to the final feature representation having updated values of the plurality of elements is generated. One of (i) a rate-distortion loss corresponding to the final feature representation or (ii) the number of iterations of the iterative update satisfies a pre-determined condition.
