  • Patent number: 11910045
Abstract: The quality of stored content may be managed prior to output. A computing device may request and receive content segments for output via the computing device. The content segments may comprise content encoded at a first bit rate selected by the computing device. The first content segments may be stored in a memory of the computing device, such as a buffer, until output at their respective presentation times. If network conditions improve, the computing device may improve the quality of at least one of the first content segments stored in the memory. The quality may be improved by requesting a higher bit rate version of the content segment and replacing, in the memory, the first content segment with the higher bit rate version of the content segment. The quality of the first content segment may be improved by adding data to the first content segment.

  • Patent number: 11910057
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for displaying additional or targeted content to a user are disclosed. An image or data capture device associated with a display device may capture an image of a space associated with the user or capture data related to what is being viewed by the viewer's eyes. Objects in the captured image or objects being viewed may be recognized, including any identifiable image, item, detail, or article and the like. A recognized object may then be compared to a target list to determine a match. If matched, and if there is additional content associated with the target object, the additional content may be presented to the user.

  • Patent number: 11904174
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to providing secure gatekeeping of communication from a remote internet-based website having an Internet-Protocol (IP) address to an implantable biomedical device. A gatekeeping device receives the communication transmitted by the remote internet-based website. The communication received is encoded using a first encoding algorithm. The gatekeeping device decodes the communication received. The gatekeeping device then encodes the communication decoded using a second encoding algorithm. The gatekeeping device wirelessly relays the communication encoded using the second encoding algorithm to the implantable biomedical device.

  • Patent number: 11910053
Abstract: Traditional streaming sequentially downloads content fragments one by one from one CDN. The disclosed streaming method concurrently downloads content fragments from multiple CDNs. It first creates a sequence of bundles of fragments, and then downloads a subsequent bundle by spreading requests to download the fragments within the bundle to multiple CDNs simultaneously with each CDN acting as a channel to download a different fragment. Depending on business needs, various request dispatching strategies can be deployed. When there is a volume based pricing contract with a CDN, a dispatch strategy is to send more requests to the CDN in order to reach contract volume therefore reduce unit cost. Another strategy is to send the request for the earliest fragment to the fastest CDN in order to reduce latency and possibility of buffer underrun. Fault tolerance can be provided by re-routing a request failed at a CDN to another CDN.

  • Patent number: 11905627
Abstract: A system for continuously humidifying a textile electrode during its use by a human is disclosed. The electrode can be part of a garment or textile where the textile electrode is positioned against the skin. A reservoir positioned against the electrode and opposite the user's skin can be made from a material with hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties, such as natural wool or a skincore material. The reservoir receives and retains moisture from the user's skin through the electrode, as well as from a pre-wetting of the exposed user-facing side of the electrode. A seal can surround the reservoir and the electrode, with the seal extending beyond electrode. The seal can be a patch with heat activated adhesive at the edge to flow the textile to form a moisture barrier around the electrode. An electrical contact on the electrode can connect conductive wires from outside the seal to the electrode.
