Abstract: A sensor system includes a sensor window including a substrate and a plurality of electrodes applied to the substrate, a sensing device movable relative to the sensor window and having a field of view through the sensor window in at least one position, and a computer communicatively coupled to the sensing device and the electrodes. The computer is programmed to activate the electrodes in a sequence that electrostatically moves a droplet on the sensor window, and the sequence is coordinated with movement of the sensing device relative to the sensor window.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for generating a virtual tag for an item in a physical environment. For instance, an image of the physical environment captured by and displayed on a user interface of a computing device may be provided as input to a trained machine learning model configured to identify the item including a first subset of item attributes. The item may be identified and information associated with the item, including a second subset of item attributes, may be received from a data store using the first subset. A spatial location of the item may be identified in the image. An icon may be generated for the item and rendered by the computing device for display on the user interface in association with the spatial location of the item in the image. The icon may be indicative of at least one item attribute from the first or second subset.

Abstract: A fastener shield can include a body defining a seat that is designed to receive at least a portion of a pin fastener in a seated position. The seated position can include the body shielding at least one moveable part of the pin fastener while allowing actuation of the at least one moveable part to transition the pin fastener between a fastening configuration and a releasing configuration. The fastener shield can also include a catch that is designed to engage the pin fastener and hold the at least a portion of the pin fastener in the seat. An apparatus can include the fastener shield. Also, a technique can include securing a pin fastener to a shank of a pin, with a fastener shield shielding at a moveable part of the fastener shield while securing the pin fastener to the shank of the pin.
Abstract: Particular embodiments may remove a condition check in the semantics for checking a high-precision data flag. This simplifies the semantics used in the encoding and decoding process. In this case, even if the high-precision data flag is not set, the value of the weighted prediction syntax element is set by the BitDepth variable. However, even if the BitDepth is not considered high-precision data, such as 8 bits, the range for the weighted prediction syntax element is still the same as the fixed value. For example, the syntax elements luma_offset_l0[i], luma_offset_l1[i], delta_chroma_offset_l0[i][j], and delta_chroma_offset_l1[i][j] use the variable BitDepth as described above whether the flag extended_precision_processing_flag is enabled and not enabled to indicate whether the bit depth is above a threshold.
Abstract: A cable reel of the present disclosure can include two flanges and a central drum being independently rotatable from one another. The drum, which can be configured to receive a cable, can be mounted on an axle. The two flanges can be rotationally mounted on the axle at opposing distal ends of the axle.

Abstract: A wheeled, pushable cart for transporting cargo that when not in use can be stacked or nested in telescoping fashion, and which can be used with carts having a base frame to which the wheels are attached, and various components, which can include one or more baskets, that are attached to the base frame. The manner in which the wheels are attached and arranged, and the orientation of the base frame, provide for increased storage and ease of access to the base frame and bottom shelf from the rear of the cart, and easy nesting (also referred to as stacking) of multiple carts in telescoping fashion when the carts are not in use.

Abstract: One or more examples provide an electric vehicle or a device for use with an electric vehicle, including an electric vehicle charging system and method. In one example, an electric vehicle charging system is disclosed. The system includes a charging bus charging robot.
Abstract: A method for execution by a personal computing device includes detecting an incoming operation. The method further includes transmitting a notice of the incoming operation to a vehicle computing device via a screen-to-screen (STS) communication link. The method further includes receiving an accept message via the STS communication link from the vehicle computing device. The method further includes facilitating the incoming operation via one or more of: one or more inbound STS channels for inbound STS signals and one or more outbound STS channels for outbound STS signals.

Abstract: A system and method for signing data is presented. In one embodiment, the method comprises: generating a data signing key; transforming the data signing key into a first subkey and a second subkey; encrypting the first subkey according to a secret key of an ODSS; generating a signature verification public key; providing the signature verification public key, the encrypted first subkey, and the second subkey for storage in a client device; accepting a request to sign the data, the request having a representation of the data and the encrypted first subkey; generating a partially computed signature of the data according to the representation of the data and the encrypted first subkey; and providing the partially computed signature of the data to the client device.
Abstract: A discrimination system that forms a fluid column and interrogates objects within the fluid column with an excitation source. An optical arrangement collects output electromagnetic radiation emanating from the excited objects disposed within the fluid column and directs the output electromagnetic radiation to a detector. An analyzer reduces the positional dependency of the detected intensity by normalizing the value based on the position of each object.

Abstract: Methods of operating a haptic actuator to apply physical and/or thermal sensations to a user to provide subjective symptom relief to a user are described. In some embodiments, a haptic actuator may be automatically activated when one or more detected user states are compared to one or more predetermined activation parameters to determine the user is experiencing an episode related to a condition of the user. In another embodiment, one or more operating parameters of a haptic actuator may be updated if the haptic actuator did not provided a desired amount of subjective symptom relief to a user during use. In yet another embodiment, a haptic actuator may create an event log based on activation events when the haptic actuator is used to provide symptom relief for a condition of the user.

Abstract: A method of interpreting tabular data includes receiving, at a deep tabular data learning network (TabNet) executing on data processing hardware, a set of features. For each of multiple sequential processing steps, the method also includes: selecting, using a sparse mask of the TabNet, a subset of relevant features of the set of features; processing using a feature transformer of the TabNet, the subset of relevant features to generate a decision step output and information for a next processing step in the multiple sequential processing steps; and providing the information to the next processing step. The method also includes determining a final decision output by aggregating the decision step outputs generated for the multiple sequential processing steps.
