Abstract: A method for inter-coding video is provided in which transmission bandwidth requirements associated with second motion vectors for bi-directional temporal prediction is reduced. In the method motion vector information for only one of the two motion vectors for bi-directional temporal prediction can be transmitted together with information on how to derive or construct the second motion vector. Thus, rather than sending express information regarding two motion vectors, express information related to only one motion vector along with information related to reconstruction/derivation of the second motion vector is transmitted, thus reducing bandwidth requirements and increasing coding efficiency.

Abstract: A retaining wall block having a false joint and a system of retaining wall blocks. The retaining wall block includes a body having a first textured surface and a second textured surface and a false joint dividing the first and second textured surface. The false joint can have a depth divided by the width greater than two inches. The false joint can have an interior angle of less than ten degrees. The system includes a plurality of retaining wall blocks and a first course of retaining wall blocks engaged with a second course of retaining wall blocks below. Each block in the system comprising a front face having a first textured surface and a second textured surface and a false joint dividing the first and second textured surface. The false joint can extend a predetermined depth of a third surface.

Abstract: A system and method are presented for creating document pages containing video and data inserted from multiple sources. In one embodiment, a document template uses slots to identify locations for content data. Users select content from a remote server. An identifier for the selected content is used to determine whether a modified version of the content is available. If so, the modified version is inserted into the slot. Otherwise, the remote server content is downloaded and inserted. In other embodiments, an improved user interface allows the selection of events based on groupings of data elements defined for the events. Local files are identified based on a selected event. In yet another embodiment, a video placeholder is used in a document in place of a remote video. The remote video is downloaded temporarily when the document is prepared for presentation.

Abstract: Biosensing measurements (e.g., heart rate, pupil size, cognitive load, stress level, etc.) are communicated in the context of events that occurred concurrently with the biosensing measurements. The biosensing measurements and the contextual events can be presented in real-time or as historical summaries. Such presentations allow users to easily gain useful insights into which specific events triggered which specific physiological responses in users. Therefore, the present concepts more effectively communicate insights that can be used to change user behavior, modify workflow, design improved products or services, enhance user satisfaction and wellbeing, increase productivity and revenue, and eliminate negative impacts on user's emotions and mental state.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to video coding and particularly to methods and systems for determining context for coding and decoding various syntax elements of a video stream in inter prediction modes. Various example implementations are disclosed for limiting numbers of possible coding contexts for syntax elements related to the inter prediction mode, and for selecting coding contexts for a current block based on coding information of spatially neighboring blocks and temporal motion prediction information.

In an exemplary embodiment, a coating composition includes a crosslinking agent, an acrylic resin, a catalyst, and a catalyst blocker that blocks the catalyst. The crosslinking agent includes an alkylated melamine, and the acrylic resin has a hydroxyl value of from about 5 to about 110 milligrams potassium hydroxide per gram of acrylic resin. The catalyst includes a sulfonic acid, and the catalyst blocker includes an amine with a boiling point of about 300 degrees Celsius or higher.

Abstract: A method and system provide the ability to deliver media content. A packager receives an original encrypted transport stream, and segments the stream into multiple fixed-duration transport stream files (chunks). The packager further generates a manifest file that describes the chunks and is consistent with a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) live streaming (HLS) protocol. The manifest file and chunks are delivered to a content delivery network (CDN). An enhanced HLS client is embed in an integrated receiver decoder (IRD). The enhanced HLS client retrieves the manifest file and the chunks from the CDN, and reconstructs the original encrypted transport stream for use by a service provider network.
