Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards caching session state data on a client device, so that services called by the client device and other services can use the session state data without having to recollect such information from a server or servers that maintain the ground truth values for the session state data. The session state data can be divided into payload datasets based on domains or the like, so that only a relevant part of the session state data need be attached to a given communication, and/or updated when a session variable changes in some way. A payload dataset can be encoded or encrypted so that a service can verify the integrity of the payload dataset before using it, such as for service-to-service communication.

Abstract: Examples of an apparatus are disclosed. In some example, an apparatus includes a photodiode configured to generate a charge in response to incident light; a measurement capacitor to store at least a part of the charge to generate a voltage; and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) circuit configured to: in a first measurement period, compare the voltage at the measurement capacitor against a static threshold voltage to generate a first output; in a second measurement period, compare the voltage against a varying threshold voltage to generate a second output, wherein the varying threshold voltage varies with time according to a pre-determined pattern; and generate a final output representing an intensity of the incident light based on either the first output or the second output.

Abstract: Disclosed is a composition including microcapsules, which include: a core composition including at least one hydrophobic active ingredient; and a wall partially or completely surrounding the core, wherein the wall includes at least one wall material that is a reaction product of a wall-forming reaction selected from: (A) a Type A reaction including: (i) reacting an amine moiety containing material with an epoxy and optionally an isocyanate; and (ii) reacting the isocyanate and at least one polyol; (B) a Type B reaction of a hydrolyzed protein with at least one of an epoxy and an organofunctional silane, and optionally an isocyanate; and (C) a Type C reaction of an amine moiety containing material with at least one of an epoxy and an oil soluble dialdehyde, and optionally an isocyanate. A method for preparing the composition is also disclosed.

Abstract: One or more processors of an electronic device detect a communication device electronically in communication with a content presentation companion device operating as a primary display for the electronic device and including a first ultra-wideband component. The one or more processors determine, with a second ultra-wide component carried by the electronic device, a distance between the electronic device and the content presentation companion device using an ultra-wideband ranging process. The one or more processors then dynamically enhance a user interface of the content presentation companion device as a function of the distance between the electronic device and the content presentation companion device. The enhancing adjusts a user interface feature being presented on the content presentation companion device.

Abstract: A translation assembly for a vehicle includes a rail assembly that defines a first channel, a second channel, and a central member that extends between the first and second channels. A carriage assembly couples to the rail assembly. The carriage assembly is movable relative to the rail assembly. The carriage assembly includes a first rail engagement structure that extends into the rail assembly and is received within the first channel; a second rail engagement structure that extends into the rail assembly and is received within the second channel; and a carriage housing that is coupled to the first and second rail engagement structures. The carriage housing extends between the first and second rail engagement structures. The carriages assembly also includes one or more drive assemblies that engage with a top surface of the central member of the rail assembly.

Abstract: An edible decoration is laser kiss cut from an edible decorating sheet by optically sensing at least one printed edible design on the edible decorating sheet relative to a laser cutting tool coordinate system and driving a laser along a circuit of cutting locations defined in the laser cutting tool coordinate system. The laser beam forms a separation channel by laser ablation of at least a portion of the edible decorating sheet at the cutting locations while leaving intact the non-adhesive releasable backing upon which the edible decorating sheet rests.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for multi-cloud authentication of data requests. One method comprises obtaining, by a first authentication entity of a first cloud environment, from a service on the first cloud environment, a request for data stored by a second cloud environment; determining a signature for the service; verifying the determined signature for the service by requesting a signature for the service registered with a second authentication entity of the second cloud environment; requesting the data from the second authentication entity of the second cloud environment in response to the determined signature being verified; and providing the requested data to the service. The requested data from the second cloud environment may be encrypted with an encryption key, and the method may further comprise decrypting the requested data with a decryption key obtained from the second cloud environment. The signature for the service may be registered as part of a deployment of the service.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for searching for video content are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving one or more characters entered into a first query field by a user; determining a predicted search query based on the one or more received characters; determining a plurality of suggested search queries based on the one or more received characters; causing the predicted search query to be presented in the first query field and at least a portion of the plurality of suggested search query to be presented in a second query field, wherein the predicted search query is combined with the one or more received characters in the first query field; searching a database of videos based on the predicted search query; causing a plurality of video content items from the database of videos responsive to the predicted search query to be presented; and causing, without user interaction, a first video content item from the plurality of video content items to be played back.

Abstract: An exhaust fan unit of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes an outer fluid path of a nozzle assembly of the exhaust fan unit defined by and between an outer wall of the nozzle assembly and an inner wall of the nozzle assembly, an inner fluid path of the nozzle assembly defined by and radially inward from the inner wall, and a plurality of entrainment ports extending from the outer wall to the inner wall and configured to enable environmental air to pass to the inner fluid path, where each entrainment port includes a bottom surface that tapers downwardly from the inner wall to the outer wall.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a storage compartment having a door panel movable between closed and open positions allowing access to the storage compartment, a user input device located within the storage compartment, and a latch assembly for latching the door panel in the closed position. The latch assembly includes a first release stage in the closed position allowing the door panel to move to an intermediate position between the open and closed positions and a second release stage allowing the door panel to move to the open position. The vehicle also includes a vehicle speed sensor sensing vehicle speed and a controller monitoring the sensed vehicle speed and detecting a user input to the user input device and controlling the latch assembly to selectively allow the door panel to move to one of the intermediate and open positions based on the sensed vehicle speed and the detected user input.

Persistent memory management may include replicating a persistent data structure in volatile memory buffers of at least two non-volatile storage devices. Persistent memory management may include preserving a snapshot copy of data in association with completion of a barrier operation for the data. Persistent memory management may include determining which interface of a plurality of supported interfaces is to be used to flush data from a processor complex.

Abstract: A hand-held digital camera has a touch-sensitive display screen (“touch screen”) for image preview and user control of the camera, and a user-selectable panorama mode. Upon entering panorama mode the camera superimposes upon the touch screen a horizontal rectangular bar whose width and/or height are user-adjustable by interaction with the touch screen to select a desired horizontal sweep angle. After the sweep angle is set the camera automatically captures successive horizontally overlapping images during a sweep of the device through the selected sweep angle. Subsequently the camera synthesizes a panoramic image from the successively captured images, the panoramic image having a width corresponding to the selected sweep angle.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable mediums for performing a free-form query are disclosed. According to one exemplary embodiment, a method for performing a free-form query includes receiving free-form information for requesting information about a computing system, converting the free-form information into at least one compatible query for querying at least one data set, querying, using the at least one compatible query, the at least one data set for the information about the computing system, and providing the information about the computing system.

Abstract: A computing system identifies broadcast video data for a game. The computing system generates tracking data for the game from the broadcast video data using computer vision techniques. The tracking data includes coordinates of players during the game. The computing system generates optical character recognition data for the game from the broadcast video data by applying one or more optical character recognition techniques to each frame of the plurality of frames to extract score and time information from a scoreboard displayed in each frame. The computing system detects a plurality of events that occurred in the game by applying one or more machine learning techniques to the tracking data. The computing system receives play-by-play data for the game. The computing system generates enriched tracking data. The generating includes merging the play-by-play data with one or more of the tracking data, the optical character recognition data, and the plurality of events.

Abstract: A method including receiving an input regarding a mattress assembly from an end user, the input including an indication of a desired feel and a plurality of current layers included in the mattress assembly, querying a database using the received input, receiving a list of layers and a layer arrangement from the database in response to the query, determining if the plurality of current layers matches the list of layers, identifying at least one of a specialty layer or a replacement layer when the plurality of current layers do not match the list of layers, determining a recommendation including the list of layers, an indication of a cost of the identified at least one of the specialty layer or the replacement layer when the plurality of current layers does not match the list of layers, and the layer arrangement, and sending the recommendation to the end user.

Abstract: Hydrogels are blended with water to produce a hydrogel solution. Viscosity of the hydrogel solution is controlled by adjusting the ratio of hydrogel to water and/or by adjusting the blending conditions. The hydrogel solutions may be used to modify the rheology of agricultural compositions. The hydrogel may include lactose, which may be provided by a milk permeate waste stream from the dairy or food processing industry.
