  • Patent number: 11900697
Abstract: The technology relates to approaches for determining appropriate stopping locations at intersections for vehicles operating in a self-driving mode. While many intersections have stop lines painted on the roadway, many others have no such lines. Even if a stop line is present, the physical location may not match what is in store map data, which may be out of date due to construction or line repainting. Aspects of the technology employ a neural network that utilizes input training data and detected sensor data to perform classification, localization and uncertain estimation processes. Based on these processes, the system is able to evaluate distribution information for possible stop locations. The vehicle uses such information to determine an optimal stop point, which may or may not correspond to a stop line in the map data. This information is also used to update the existing map data, which can be shared with other vehicles.

  • Patent number: 11901007
Abstract: Technology for applying a positive temperature coefficient (Tco) voltage to a control terminal of a dummy select transistor. The dummy select transistor resides on a NAND string having non-volatile memory cells and a regular select transistor. The dummy select transistor is typically ON (or conductive) during memory operations such as selected string program, read, and verify. In an aspect, the positive Tco voltage is applied to the control terminal of a dummy select transistor during a program operation. Applying the positive Tco voltage during program operations reduces or eliminates program disturb to the dummy select transistor. In some aspects, the dummy select transistor is used to generate a gate induced drain leakage (GIDL) current during an erase operation. In some aspects, the dummy select transistor is a depletion mode transistor.

  • Patent number: 11901013
Abstract: Method and apparatus for managing data in a non-volatile memory (NVM) of a storage device, such as a solid-state drive (SSD). Data are stored to and retrieved from a group of memory cells in the NVM using a controller circuit. The data are retrieved using a first set of read voltages which are applied to the respective memory cells. The first set of read voltages are accumulated into a history distribution, which is evaluated to arrive at a second set of read voltages based upon characteristics of the history distribution. A calibration operation is performed on the memory cells using the second set of read voltages as a starting point. A final, third set of read voltages is obtained during the calibration operation to provide error rate performance at an acceptable level. The third set of read voltages are thereafter used for subsequent read operations.
