Abstract: A device includes a molten metal pump and a metal-transfer conduit. A clamp may be used to attach the metal-transfer conduit to the pump. The pump has a pump base including an indentation configured to receive the metal-transfer conduit and align the pump outlet with the transfer inlet. The pump outlet may be formed in the indentation and preferably near the center of the indentation in order to better align with the transfer inlet. As the pump operates it moves molten metal through a pump outlet that is in communication with a transfer inlet in the metal-transfer conduit. The molten metal enters the transfer inlet, moves upwards in a passage in the metal-transfer conduit, and out of a transfer outlet.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are configures to measure an eye without contacting the eye with a patient interface, and these measurements are used to determine alignment and placement of the incisions when the patient interface contacts the eye. The pre-contact locations of one or more structures of the eye can be used to determine corresponding post-contact locations of the one or more optical structures of the eye when the patient interface has contacted the eye, such that the laser incisions are placed at locations that promote normal vision of the eye. The incisions are positioned in relation to the pre-contact optical structures of the eye, such as an astigmatic treatment axis, nodal points of the eye, and visual axis of the eye.

Abstract: A method to print indicia on a substrate comprises attaching a portable printer to an automated arm. The method includes detecting the substrate using a sensor. The method comprises printing indicia on a first face of the substrate using the portable printer. The method includes the steps of causing the automated arm to move the portable printer and printing indicia on a second face of the substrate using the portable printer.
Abstract: An inverter is electrically connected between a traction battery and a switch bank. The inverter includes a plurality of pairs of series connected power semiconductor devices. Each of the pairs is electrically connected in parallel with the traction battery to define a phase leg, and each of the power semiconductor devices has a body diode in parallel therewith. The inverter also includes a plurality of diodes connected in parallel with the power semiconductor devices such that only one of the power semiconductor devices of each of the pairs has one of the diodes connected in parallel therewith.
Abstract: Various embodiments can implement a multi-system or node architecture that can be deployed on-demand and augment existing systems with pre-configured nodes that can be installed within existing architecture. The multi-node architecture is flexible for integration into many systems and can also stand alone to provide data validation and assurance. Various embodiments of the multi-node architecture enable private and public distributed ledgers (e.g., blockchains) that enhance security, enhance confidentiality, and eliminate the need to trust the provider/hosts of the data validation information and/or the hosts of the confidential information.

Abstract: To reduce spikes in the current used by a NAND memory die during a write operation using smart verify, different amounts of delay are introduced into the loops of the programing algorithm. Depending on the number of verify levels following a programming pulse, differing amounts of wait time are used before biasing a selected word line to the verify levels or levels. For example, if only a single verify level is used, a shorter delay is used than if two verify levels are used.

Abstract: An overhead grid assembly for a suspended ceiling system and a bracket member thereof. The overhead grid assembly may include first and second support members having first and second longitudinal axes that are arranged in an intersecting manner to form a grid. The bracket member may include a first part having a first channel and a second part having a second channel. The bracket member is arranged to maintain the first and second support members in a desirable orientation relative to each other. Thus, a portion of the first support member may nest within the first channel and a portion of the second support member may nest within the second channel. The first and second parts of the bracket assembly may be rotatable relative to one another to ensure that the bracket assembly can be coupled to the first and second support members regardless of their relative orientation.
Abstract: An implant includes a housing; a blade having a retracted position in the housing and an extended position where the blade extends outwardly from the housing; and a blade actuating component comprising a driven shaft portion and a blade engaging portion. The blade actuating component can move the blade between the retracted position and the extended position. In addition, the blade engaging portion of the blade actuating component has a substantially U-shaped configuration defined at least in part by a superior surface and an inferior surface. Also, when the blade is in the extended position, the superior surface of the blade engaging portion of the blade actuating component is substantially flush with a superior surface of the housing, and the inferior surface of the blade engaging portion of the blade actuating component is substantially flush with an inferior surface of the housing.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for synthesizing computer-readable code based on the receipt of input and output examples. A computing system in accordance with the disclosure can be configured to receive a given input and output, access and library of operations, and perform a search of a library of operations (e.g., transpose, slice, norm, etc.) that can be applied to the input. By applying the operations to the input and tracking the results, the computing system may identify an expression comprising one or a combination of operations that when applied to the input generates the output. In this manner, implementations of the disclosure may be used to identify one or more solutions that a user having access to the library of operations may use to generate the output from the input.

Abstract: An optical system performs a method for measuring an acoustic signal in a wellbore. The optical system includes a light source, an optical fiber and a detector. The light source generates a light pulse. The optical fiber has a first end for receiving the light pulse from the light source and a plurality of enhancement scatterers spaced along a length of the optical fiber for reflecting the light pulse. A longitudinal density of the enhancement scatterers increases with a distance from the first end to increase a signal enhancement generated by the enhancement scatterers distal from the first end. The detector is at the first end of the optical fiber and measures a reflection of the light pulse at the enhancement scatterers to determine the acoustic signal.
Abstract: A computer implemented method includes receiving information streams on a meeting server from a set of multiple distributed devices included in a meeting, receiving audio signals representative of speech by at least two users in at least two of the information streams, receiving at least one video signal of at least one user in the information streams, associating a specific user with speech in the received audio signals as a function of the received audio and video signals, and generating a transcript of the meeting with an indication of the specific user associated with the speech.
