Abstract: An element for an aerosol-generating system, a cartridge for an aerosol-generating system, and an aerosol-generating system, wherein the element, the cartridge and the aerosol-generating system each include a storage portion for storing an aerosol-forming substrate and a manually operated disabling mechanism for rendering the element, the cartridge, or the aerosol-generating system irreversibly inoperable. The element, the cartridge, and the aerosol-generating system may include an aerosol generator and one or more air passages. The disabling mechanism may be configured to render at least one of the storage portion, the aerosol generator, and the one or more air passages irreversibly inoperable.

Abstract: A load control device for controlling the power delivered from an AC power source to an electrical load includes a thyristor, a gate coupling circuit for conducting a gate current through a gate of the thyristor, and a control circuit for controlling the gate coupling circuit to conduct the gate current through a first current path to render the thyristor conductive at a firing time during a half cycle. The gate coupling circuit is able to conduct the gate current through the first current path again after the firing time, but the gate current is not able to be conducted through the gate from a transition time before the end of the half-cycle until approximately the end of the half-cycle. The load current is able to be conducted through a second current path to the electrical load after the transition time until approximately the end of the half-cycle.

Abstract: In an example, sets of event information associated with events may be identified. The events may include intentional click events, accidental click events and/or skip events. Accidental click probabilities associated with the accidental click events and/or the skip events may be determined. Machine learning model training may be performed, using the sets of event information associated with the events and labels associated with the events, to generate a first machine learning model. The labels may include second labels associated with the intentional click events and/or third labels associated with the accidental click events and/or the skip events. The second labels may correspond to an intentional click classification. The third labels may be based upon the accidental click probabilities. Click probabilities associated with content items may be determined using the first machine learning model. A content item may be selected for presentation via a client device based upon the click probabilities.

Abstract: A method includes defining a plurality of data storage policies, each of the plurality of data storage policies providing rules for storing data among a plurality of data storage locations, each of the plurality of data storage locations having a data storage cost and a data retrieval cost associated therewith; determining a baseline policy distribution among the plurality of data storage policies for an entity; receiving new data items corresponding to the entity; storing the new data items in the plurality of data storage locations using the plurality of data storage policies based on the baseline policy distribution; and determining, using the artificial intelligence engine, a selected one of the plurality of data storage policies to use in storing the new data items corresponding to the entity based on the data storage cost for each of the plurality of data storage locations, and the data retrieval cost for each of the plurality of storage locations.

Abstract: Optical systems for performing gaze tracking and imaging an external scene are disclosed. An example optical system may include light sources for emitting visible and non-visible light. The optical system may include a waveguide that is operatively coupled to the light sources. A volume holographic light coupling element may be disposed between the surfaces of the waveguide. The volume holographic light coupling element may include a grating medium and a first volume holographic grating structure within the grating medium. In some examples, the first volume holographic grating structure may be configured to reflect non-visible light of a first wavelength about a first reflective axis offset from a surface normal of the grating medium at a first incidence angle. The optical system may also include an optical filter. Another example optical system may include an imaging device that is configured to receive the light external to the optical system.

Abstract: Interference-based augmented reality hosting platforms are presented. Hosting platforms can include networking nodes capable of analyzing a digital representation of scene to derive interference among elements of the scene. The hosting platform utilizes the interference to adjust the presence of augmented reality objects within an augmented reality experience. Elements of a scene can constructively interfere, enhancing presence of augmented reality objects; or destructively interfere, suppressing presence of augmented reality objects.

Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring a communication network using machine-learning techniques are disclosed. In some implementations, a forecasted amount of traffic for a communication network is determined using one or more network traffic forecasting models being configured to generate the forecasted amount of traffic based on data indicating one or more previous amounts of traffic for the communication network. A measure of network health is generated based on a measured amount of traffic and the forecasted amount of traffic. Data indicating one or more characteristics of the communication network is processed using one or more machine learning models to generate a predicted measure of network health for a future time period. An indication of the predicted measure of network health for the future time period is provided.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for ranking search results and generating a presentation. In some implementations, a search system generates a presentation based on a search query. In some implementations, a search system ranks search results based on data stored in a knowledge graph. In some implementations, a search system identifies a modifying concept such as a superlative in a received search query, and determines ranking properties based on the modifying concept.

The controller includes a circuit board supported by the body and a microcontroller mounted to the circuit board, the microcontroller programmed to actuate the memory wires according to a compression protocol stored in a memory associated with the microcontroller. Each memory wire has a first end fixedly connected to the circuit board and a second end fixed relative to the body.

Abstract: An energy efficient process for NGL recovery and production of compressed natural gas (CNG) in which natural gas is fed to a first gas separation membrane-based separation stage where it is separated into a permeate and a retentate. The high C3+ concentration first stage permeate is chilled and separated to provide liquid phase NGL and a gaseous phase. The first stage retentate is separated at a second gas membrane-based separation stage to produce a retentate meeting pipeline specifications for CNG (including hydrocarbon dewpoint) and a permeate that is recycled to the first stage. The gaseous phase, constituting a low BTU fuel, may be used in on-site power generation equipment and/or in internal combustion engines. The second stage permeate (and optionally the third stage retentate) is (are) recycled back to the first stage to enhance the production of NGL and CNG.

The battery within the cart is configured to operate any electrical componentry on the cart, so that the cart can be independently operable away from any electrical wall outlets. These carts can be customized with any number of options or accessories to meet particular demands and be temporarily deployed to areas where demand, or crowd size, is highest.
