Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for periodic real-time reporting of in-flight turbulence experienced by aircraft using the existing Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) messaging system. The invention includes both broadcast to and reception from other aircraft and ground stations using the ADS-B system. Systems and methods for displaying the received turbulence reports on a cockpit display system are also disclosed. The disclosed systems and methods accomplish the objectives of the invention on a non-interference basis with existing ADS-B system functionality by utilizing currently reserved message types and/or unused data fields for the turbulence reporting. The invention is applicable to both 1090ES and 978 UAT ADS-B systems.

Abstract: A transportation system includes an artificial intelligence (AI) system for processing a sensory input from a wearable device in a self-driving vehicle to determine an emotional state of a rider and optimizing a vehicle operating parameter to improve the rider emotional state. The AI system includes a recurrent neural network to indicate a change in the emotional state of the rider by a recognition of patterns of emotional state indicative wearable sensor data from a set of wearable sensors worn by the rider. The patterns are indicative of a first degree of a favorable emotional state of the rider and/or a second degree of an unfavorable emotional state of the rider. The AI system further includes a radial basis function neural network to optimize, for achieving a target emotional state of the rider, the vehicle operating parameter in response to the indication of the change in the rider emotional state.

Abstract: Polymeric tubing, for use with catheters or other medical devices, where the polymeric tubing can have regions of customized properties including, but not limited to, durometer, torque control, flexibility, axial strength, stiffness, etc. One variation of the device allows for transitions between regions to be configured such that there can be gradual or customized transitions between various regions such that the structural characteristics differential between the regions are selectively designed. Additional variations include outer layers having a plurality of material sections extending in a spiral direction along the axial length to form a continuous wall of the outer layer. In certain variations, the structural characteristic differential is minimized or eliminated as compared to conventional catheters.

Abstract: A pessary providing various structures, parts, and components to enable the pessary to remain deployed in a supportive position so that it may reliably provide the desired supportive capabilities. A ridge structure prevents over-rotation of the supportive members. The pessary can be formed preferably by injection molding where the mold has at least one insert. The geometry of the pessary can enable the pessary to have the required stiffness, flexibility, hinged capability, and softness where needed to achieve a pessary that is superior to prior art pessaries.

Abstract: A pressure bleed-off system. The system includes a fluid bypass line having an inlet and an opposing outlet, wherein the inlet is in fluid communication with a high pressure frac line for a hydraulic fracturing operation. The system also includes a high pressure transducer located proximate the fluid inlet, a first plug valve residing along the fluid bypass line, and a first electric actuator residing on the first plug valve. The actuator is configured to rotate the first plug valve between close and open positions in response to command signals from a controller. The controller, in turn, sends the command signals in response to control signals delivered by an operator, remotely. Preferably, the command signals are wireless signals sent from outside of the red zone. The system may also include a second plug valve along the bypass line.

Abstract: An assembly for covering an agricultural receiving unit is provided. The assembly may include a covering body configured to, in a first position, extend over an opening of the agricultural receiving unit to prevent access to the opening. The assembly may also include an actuation assembly configured to move the covering body from the first position to a second position. In the second position, the covering body is configured to permit access to the opening of the agricultural receiving unit.

Abstract: A central asset registry and associated satellite registries tie Digital Asset Management (DAM) repositories and satellite repositories into a unified enterprise system. The system removes rights and asset relationship tracking from the DAMs and the satellites by gathering asset metadata tags and capturing digital asset rights and relationships between assets to improve speed, scalability, and flexibility in analyzing and traversing networks of rights and relationships of digital assets. The central asset registry and the satellite registries use a pluggable architecture and track and store multi-dimensional relationships as an asset hierarchy. The asset hierarchy and rights model depicts rights and relationship data between the assets and provides a flexible array of asset types and properties for addition of new assets, new asset types, and new rights without re-factoring the other data, nodes, and edges. The system uses asset metadata to create edge relationships between the assets.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer storage media for implementing neural networks in fixed point arithmetic computing systems. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving a request to process a neural network using a processing system that performs neural network computations using fixed point arithmetic; for each node of each layer of the neural network, determining a respective scaling value for the node from the respective set of floating point weight values for the node; and converting each floating point weight value of the node into a corresponding fixed point weight value using the respective scaling value for the node to generate a set of fixed point weight values for the node; and providing the sets of fixed point floating point weight values for the nodes to the processing system for use in processing inputs using the neural network.

Abstract: A gooseneck trailer system with support structures. The trailer system can comprise a gooseneck removably connected to a trailer and a support structure connected to the gooseneck. The support structure can be configured to support the gooseneck when the gooseneck is disconnected from the trailer. In some embodiments, the support structure can comprise at least one support arm connected to a frame of the gooseneck which can be pivoted between a retracted position and at least one deployed position. The present disclosure can also include methods of using the gooseneck trailer system with a tractor such that the support structure abuts against the tractor, safely securing the gooseneck to the tractor.

Abstract: A system and method is provided to lock or unlock a gladhand coupler on a towed asset to prevent connection of a tractor air line to the gladhand is provided. The system prevents the tractor from properly operating the towed asset brakes and therefore prevents the unauthorized movement of the towed asset. The system has a locking mechanism that blocks the surface on the gladhand used for coupling with another gladhand coupler.

Abstract: A forest fire retardant composition contains a retardant compound that includes a phosphate salt. The phosphate salt may include diammonium phosphate, diammonium orthophosphate, monoammonium phosphate, monoammonium orthophosphate, monosodium phosphate, disodium phosphate, disodium phosphate hydrate, sodium ammonium phosphate, sodium ammonium phosphate hydrate, sodium tripolyphosphate, trisodium phosphate, or dipotassium phosphate, and combinations thereof. The forest fire retardant composition may include an ammonium source. The composition may be in the form of a dry concentrate, a liquid concentrate, or a final diluted product. The final diluted product is effective in suppressing, retarding, and controlling forest fires while exhibiting corrosion resistance and low toxicity.

Abstract: An internally-constructed permissions graph database enabling a user to construct and alter the graph database permissions within the graph database. Edge permissions define whether a one node can View, Edit, or Manage another node. A node can view another node if there is at least one edge path connecting the nodes having a “View” permission. Similarly, a node can “Edit” or “Manage” another node if there is at least one edge path connecting the nodes having allowing “Edit” and/or “Manage” permissions, respectively. If a contiguous path of permission edges does not exist from the “caller node” to the “requested node” to be acted upon, then permission to perform the desired action or operation on that node is not granted. Edges have permissions, and Nodes have properties. A “Caller Node” makes Requests upon and “Requested Node,” which are limited by edge permissions.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a digital beamformed phased array feed. The system may include a radome configured to allow electromagnetic waves to propagate; a multi-band software defined antenna array tile; a power and clock management subsystem configured to manage power and time of operation; a thermal management subsystem configured to dissipate heat generated by the multi-band software defined antenna array tile; and an enclosure assembly. The multi-band software defined antenna array tile may include a plurality of coupled dipole array antenna elements; a plurality of frequency converters; and a plurality of digital beamformers.

The common API supports i) any of multiple different training sources and/or prediction sources installed on ii) potentially different sets of customer computing hardware in a plurality of on-premises' environments, where the training sources, prediction sources as well as the set of customer computing hardware may differ amongst the on-premises' environments. The common API via its cooperation with a library of base classes is configured to allow users and third-party developers to interface with the AI-engine modules of the AI engine in an easy and predictable manner through the three or more base classes available from the library. The common API via its cooperation with the library of base classes is configured to be adaptable to the different kinds of training sources, prediction sources, and the different sets of hardware found a particular on-premises environment.

Abstract: A smart locker system with assistance for a visually impaired user is disclosed. Each locker in the smart locker system includes a beacon that emits a signal either before the locker door is released or at the same time as the locker door is released. The beacon is used by a visually impaired user to locate the specified locker before it opens or at the same time as it opens. The beacon may be a haptic device that causes the specified locker to vibrate, which allows the user to find the locker by feel. The beacon may also be an auditory device that causes the specified locker to emit a sound, which allows the user to find the locker by sound.

Abstract: Technology of the disclosure may facilitate user discovery of various voice-based action queries that can be spoken to initiate computer-based actions, such as voice-based action queries that can be provided as spoken input to a computing device to initiate computer-based actions that are particularized to content being viewed or otherwise consumed by the user on the computing device. Some implementations are generally directed to determining, in view of content recently viewed by a user on a computing device, at least one suggested voice-based action query for presentation via the computing device. A time-series of values for a metric associated with an execution of a verification action for a service may be provided. If a metric value in the time-series of values is outside of a control range, further actions may be performed, including: determining a last valid version of the service based on the time-series of values; determining a first invalid version of the service based on the time-series of values; determining changes associated with differences between the last valid version of the service and the first invalid version of the service based on the time-series of values; determining responsible users based on the determined changes; and generating a defect report based on the changes and the metric value that is outside of the control range such that the responsible users are associated with the defect report.

Abstract: An example described herein may involve receiving a temperature measurement associated with an input component, wherein the temperature measurement is received from a temperature sensor, and wherein the temperature measurement indicates a temperature of an input element of the input component; determining that the temperature of the input element satisfies a threshold temperature; and causing an infrared element to emit infrared light in association with a position of the input component. While the infrared element is emitting the infrared light, capture information associated with a user interacting with the input component may be obfuscated.
