Patent number: 11860629Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods that apply neural networks such as, for example, convolutional neural networks, to sparse imagery in an improved manner. For example, the systems and methods of the present disclosure can be included in or otherwise leveraged by an autonomous vehicle. In one example, a computing system can extract one or more relevant portions from imagery, where the relevant portions are less than an entirety of the imagery. The computing system can provide the relevant portions of the imagery to a machine-learned convolutional neural network and receive at least one prediction from the machine-learned convolutional neural network based at least in part on the one or more relevant portions of the imagery. Thus, the computing system can skip performing convolutions over regions of the imagery where the imagery is sparse and/or regions of the imagery that are not relevant to the prediction being sought.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2021Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: UATC, LLCInventors: Raquel Urtasun, Mengye Ren, Andrei Pokrovsky, Bin Yang

Patent number: 11861082Abstract: An e-pen includes e-pen sensor electrodes (including a first and a second e-pen sensor electrode) and drive-sense circuits (DSCs) (including a first DSC and a second DSC. The first DSC drives a first e-pen signal having a first frequency via a first single line coupling to the first e-pen sensor electrode and simultaneously senses, via the first single line, the first e-pen signal. Based on e-pen/touch sensor device interaction, the first e-pen signal is coupled into at least one touch sensor electrode of the touch sensor device. The first DSC process the first e-pen signal to generate a first digital signal representative of a first electrical characteristic of the first e-pen sensor electrode. Similarly, the second DSC drives a second e-pen signal having a second frequency via a second single line coupling to the second e-pen sensor electrode and simultaneously senses, via the second single line, the second e-pen signal.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2022Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: SIGMASENSE, LLC.Inventors: Patrick Troy Gray, Gerald Dale Morrison, Daniel Keith Van Ostrand, Richard Stuart Seger, Jr., Michael Shawn Gray, Kevin Joseph Derichs

Patent number: 11859135Abstract: Production of fuels from low carbon electricity and from carbon dioxide by the use of a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) and Fischer-Tropsch is shown. Fischer-Tropsch is an exothermic reaction that can be used to produce steam. Steam produced from the Liquid Fuel Production (LFP) reactor system, where the Fischer-Tropsch reaction occurs, is used as feed to the SOEC. The higher temperature steam improves the efficiency of the overall electrolysis system. The integration of the LFP steam improves the efficiency of the electrolysis because the heat of vaporization for the liquid water does not have to be supplied by the electrolyzer.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2023Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: Infinium Technology, LLCInventors: Robert Schuetzle, Dennis Schuetzle, Anja Rumplecker Galloway, James Bucher

Patent number: 11859989Abstract: The technology involves pullover maneuvers for vehicles operating in an autonomous driving mode. A vehicle operating in an autonomous driving mode is able to identify parking locations that may be occluded or otherwise not readily visible. A best case estimation for any potential parking locations, including partially or fully occluded areas, is compared against predictions for identified visible parking locations. This can include calculating a cost for each potential parking location and comparing that cost to a baseline cost. Upon determining that an occluded location would provide a more viable option than any visible parking locations, the vehicle is able to initiate a driving adjustment (e.g., slow down) prior to arriving at the occluded location. This enables the vehicle to minimize passenger discomfort while also providing notice to other road users of an intent to pull over.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2021Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: Waymo LLCInventors: Xu Dong, Jonathan Lee Pedersen, Jakob Robert Zwiener

Patent number: 11860725Abstract: A failure recommendation system for a command line interface (CLI) uses machine learning to predict the most likely command to correct an unsuccessful or failed attempt to perform an intended operation using the CLI. The failure recommendation system is based on a conditional probability model trained on failure-success pairs of commands from CLI telemetry data to learn the most likely command to remediate a failure. The conditional probability model predicts the most likely command based on a failure type and the failed command. The failure type is identified through a failure type classifier and is used to select the most likely command to remediate a failure from the different events that may lead to a failure.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2020Date of Patent: January 2, 2024Assignee: MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLC.Inventors: Christopher O'Toole, Roshanak Zilouchian Moghaddam
