  • Patent number: 11832832
Abstract: Described herein are examples of orthopedic drill bits and methods of preparing a bone of a living being for fixation. An example method includes coupling a drive attachment of a drill bit to a mounting attachment of a driver, and placing a guide at a desired location on the bone. The guide has an opening corresponding to an area of bone to be removed. The guide provides proper positioning and alignment for drilling a hole. With the guide in place, the method further includes aligning the drill bit with the opening on the guide and drilling a hole in the bone. Once the hole is drilled, the method includes de-coupling the drill bit from the driver, and bending the drill bit at the drive attachment while the drill bit is still in the bone. In some examples, additional method steps follow preparation of the hole.

  • Patent number: 11838448
Abstract: Methods and systems for audio-based polling during a conference call discussion are provided. During a conference call, a user selection of an element on a client device is detected. The element is designated to initiate audio-based polling of participants of the conference call. In response to the detection of the user selection of the element on the client device, a verbal statement provided by a first participant of the conference call is recorded. A determination is made of whether the recorded verbal statement includes a question that is to be used for audio-based polling of one or more second participants of the conference call. Responsive to a determination that the verbal statement includes the question that is to be used for audio-based polling, audio-based polling of the one or more second participants is initiated.

  • Patent number: 11838949
Abstract: A wireless device receives configuration parameters of a plurality uplink grants of a cell. The wireless device determines, for transmission of a transport block (TB), a first hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process associated with a first uplink grant of the plurality uplink grants. The wireless device determines that a listen before talk (LBT) process for transmission of the TB via the first uplink grant indicates a busy channel. In response to the LBT process indicating the busy channel, the TB is transmitted via a second uplink grant, of the plurality uplink grants of the cell, associated with a second HARQ process.

One of the methods includes receiving data representing a traffic encounter between a vehicle and a pedestrian. A plurality of comfort scale ratings of the encounter assigned by a rater belonging to a first rater pool are received. An input element is generated for a rating transformation model configured to predict how comfort scale ratings assigned by a particular rater pool would have been assigned by a representative rater belonging to a reference rater pool. An inference pass is performed over the rating transformation model using the input element to obtain a plurality of transformed comfort scale ratings for the reference rater pool.

  • Patent number: 11838039
Abstract: A method and apparatus for intermodulation product (IMP) cancellation. In one embodiment, the method comprises: acquiring copies of source signals that create IMPs in a passband of interest; creating copies of the IMPs for use as IMP cancellation signals by either multiplying the source signals together as a series of digital samples such that the multiplied signals create a near real and continuous time copy of the IMPs or creating a sum of the source signals in near real and continuous time and convolving the sum of the source signals with a mathematical model to effectively multiply the signals together to create a copy of the IMPs; adjusting one or both of phase and amplitude of the copies; and using the copies to cancel the IMPs inband of the passband of interest.

  • Patent number: 11839167
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and systems are disclosed for robust scalable topological quantum computing. Quantum dots are fabricated as van der Waals heterostructures, supporting localized topological phases and non-Abelian anyons (quasiparticles). Large bandgaps provide noise immunity. Three-dot structures include an intermediate quantum dot between two computational quantum dots. With the intermediate quantum dot in an OFF state, quasiparticles at the computational quantum dots can be isolated, with long lifetimes. Alternatively, the intermediate quantum dot can be controlled to decrease the quasiparticle tunneling barrier, enabling fast computing operations. A computationally universal suite of operations includes quasiparticle initialization, braiding, fusion, and readout of fused quasiparticle states, with, optionally, transport or tunable interactions—all topologically protected. Robust qubits can be operated without error correction.
