    Abstract: Techniques for using a network to decompose an HRTF data set to generate approximation data and to render an audio signal using the approximation data are disclosed herein. An input HRTF data set is fed into the network, which then generates approximation data that includes mixing channel gains, FIR filter coefficients, and basis filter shapes. This approximation data controls various components in the network. When the input HRTF data set is fed as input into the network, then the output of the network is an output approximated HRTF data set. The network iteratively fine tunes the approximation data until the output approximated HRTF data set sufficiently matches the input HRTF data set. After the approximation data is sufficiently tuned, the approximation data is later used by the network to render an audio signal.

A signal quality is determined by listening to an acoustic response of the loudspeaker to the first probe signal. A second audio pattern is determined by modifying the first audio pattern based on the signal quality. A second probe signal for audio playback having the second audio pattern is transmitted by the loudspeaker. An audio delay compensation is then determined for the loudspeaker based on a measure of an audio delay between the transmitted second probe signal and an acoustic response of the loudspeaker in response to the second probe signal.

The device can also segment large uplink IP packets and reassemble large downlink IP packets. In a LoRaWAN network, the join server facilitates arriving at a common compression/decompression protocol and assigns an IP address to the device to enable IP communication with an IP application client.
