Abstract: A seat system for a passenger aircraft. The seat system includes a passenger seat frame having a backrest support assembly including a backrest and a spreader; and a seat bottom support assembly. The seat system further includes a rotary recline lever assembly including an armrest connected to the spreader; an offset rotary actuator positioned within the armrest; and a release cable attached between the rotary actuator and the backrest support assembly. The seat system may further include a seat back tray table attached to the back of the passenger seat frame.

Abstract: Polar silane linkers are provided that attach to resins to form silane-functionalized resins. The functionalized resins can be bound to hydroxyl groups on the surface of silica particles to improve the dispersibility of the silica particles in rubber mixtures. Further disclosed are synthetic routes to provide the silane-functionalized resins, as well as various uses and end products that benefit from the unexpected properties of the silane-functionalized resins. Silane-functionalized resins impart remarkable properties on various rubber compositions, such as tires, belts, hoses, brakes, and the like. Automobile tires incorporating the silane-functionalized resins are shown to possess excellent results in balancing the properties of rolling resistance, tire wear, and wet braking performance.

Abstract: A heuristics-based concurrent edit detector (“ConE”) can notify collaborators about potential conflicts that may be caused by edits made by other collaborators. ConE may compare concurrent edits submitted by collaborators, calculate the extent of overlap between two sets of edits, apply one or more filters to balance recall versus precision, and decide whether to alert the collaborators about candidate potential conflicts. ConE may be light-weight and easily scalable to work in a very large environment with numerous collaborators.

Abstract: Network devices include a memory and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to determine a connection state of one or more first client devices, and in response to the determination that none of the one or more first client devices are connected to the wireless network for a predetermined time period, cause one or more second client devices currently connected to network devices other than a predetermined network device in the wireless network to connect to the predetermined network device. The network devices other than the predetermined network device turn off their wireless access function such that the wireless access function of only the predetermined network device is kept on.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for modifying a downlink configuration of a user device in a cell to mitigate interference. The methods and systems assign, via a first cell site, a first bandwidth to the user device within a serviceable area of the first cell site. The first bandwidth is blanked such that the user device receives data on a second bandwidth that is a smaller bandwidth than the first bandwidth. In addition, the methods and systems determine that the first bandwidth has at least one interference measurement above a threshold. Upon determining that the at least one interference measurement is above the threshold, the methods and systems modify the downlink configuration of the user device to a third bandwidth. The third bandwidth is a smaller bandwidth than the second bandwidth.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for a low-emission nozzle and receptacle coupling for cryogenic fluid. An example nozzle includes a body defining a chamber through which cryogenic fluid is to flow. The body includes an outer shell that includes an outer shell surface. The nozzle includes a locking assembly configured to securely couple the nozzle to a receptacle. The locking assembly includes an inner sleeve fixedly coupled to the outer shell surface and an outer sleeve extending over and rotatably coupled to the inner sleeve. One or more locking teeth are fixedly coupled to the outer sleeve and configured to be slidably received by respective one or more coupling slots of the receptacle. The one or more locking teeth are configured to rotatably slide within the respective one or more coupling slots to couple the nozzle to the receptacle as the outer sleeve rotates relative to the inner sleeve.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention concern the regeneration of chondrocytes and cartilage-type cells. In certain embodiments, one or more genes are employed for the regeneration of chondrocytes and cartilage-type cells. In particular embodiments, one or more gene therapy regimens are employed for the regeneration of chondrocytes and cartilage-type cells. In particular aspects, embodiments concern cartilage repair, such as articular cartilage repair. More particularly, embodiments for the disclosure concern using gene therapy for the attraction, generation and/or regeneration of chondrocytes or other cartilage-type cells and/or the generation and/or repair of cartilage tissue. In specific embodiments of the disclosure, gene therapy is provided that is capable of attracting and/or generating desired cells in vivo.

Abstract: The described implementations relate to an access control framework for a database system. One implementation can receive, from a user, a request for data that identifies a resource, such as a view that obtains data from a database. The implementation can check the identity of the user to identify user roles associated with the user. The implementation can identify an access policy that is associated with the resource, and a rule that is associated with the access policy and applies to the user roles associated with the user. The rule can be applied to the request for data using attributes of the access policy. For example, if the request for data is a query on a view, the query can be rewritten to apply the rule.

A system may comprise a microwave emitter, an extraction chamber, and a cooling chamber. Microwave radiation emitted by the microwave emitter may dielectrically heat a microwave absorbing agent, which may heat the plant oil of the plant material. Plant oil of the plant material may be volatized in the extraction chamber and may be directed into the cooling chamber to be condensed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to incorporate saturation effects into marketing mix models are disclosed. An example apparatus includes means for converting adstock data associated with an advertising campaign into effective reached realized (ERR) data based on a first saturation curve, the adstock data corresponding to adstocked gross rating points generated from marketing mix input data. The apparatus further including means for performing regression analysis to: identify the first saturation curve from among a plurality of plausible curves based on a fit of different ones of the plurality of plausible curves to the marketing mix input data, the first saturation curve to define a relationship indicative of saturation effects of the advertising campaign on a target audience of the advertising campaign; and determine an impact of the advertising campaign on sales during a period of interest based on a regression analysis of the ERR data relative to sales data.

The metallic component can contain both porous metal and substantially-solid metal. The polymeric material can contain particles of an osseointegrative material. The metallic component can be more protruding toward bone than the polymeric component while having a smaller dimension of roughness than the polymeric component. In embodiments, the pin may press-fit against substantially solid metal. The porous metal may surround solid metal which in turn may surround the pin. The pin may have a press-fit with metal and a looser fit with polymeric component, if the metal components and polymeric components are trapped. A pin may connect superior and inferior metal components by a press-fit. The central opening may be exposed to porous metal and also to substantially-solid metal and to polymer. Specific geometries of implants are disclosed.

Abstract: According to implementations of the subject matter described herein, there is provided a solution for text recognition in an image. In this solution, a target text line area, which is expected to include a text to be recognized, is determined from an image. Probability distribution information of a character model element(s) present in the target text line area is determined using a single character model. The single character model is trained based on training text line areas and respective ground-truth texts in the training text line areas. Texts in the training text line areas are arranged in different orientations, and/or the ground-truth texts comprise texts are related to various languages (e.g., texts related to a Latin and an Eastern languages). The text in the target text line area can be determined based on the determined probability distribution information. The single character model enables more efficient and convenient text recognition.
