Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to generating an engagement model to predict actions that may have a high probability of maintaining user engagement in-application or causing a user to reengage with the application. To generate the engagement model, an approach has been developed which incorporates features analysis of the application and application users. Users may be grouped based on similar features that are used to generate machine learning engagement models. The output of an engagement model may be a prediction on whether a user will continue to engage with an application. The prediction may be provided to a reengagement model which may output prompts to help increase user engagement with the application. The prompts may be based on an understanding of application users and their preferences.

Abstract: A device, system, or method for estimating a person’s food consumption comprises two types of wearable sensors. A first type of sensor collects data to detect when the person consumes food. A second type of sensor is activated when data from the first type of sensor indicates that the person is consuming food. Data from these sensors are analyzed to estimate the types and amounts of food consumed by the person. This device, system, or method then provides feedback and/or coaching to the person to improve their eating habits.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, identifying a flow of data packets between first and second network addresses of a network, with each packet including respective header and payload portions. The identified flow of data packets is monitored over a number of sample periods to obtain a number of monitored results. A data-flow activity record is generated, having a number of symbols corresponding to the number of monitored results, the symbols including an active symbol value indicative of a presence of an exchange of data and an idle symbol value indicative of an absence of an exchange of data. A suitability of the identified data flow is inferred for estimating a throughput of the network according to the data-flow activity record without interpreting contents of each respective packet payload portion. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Processing circuitry performs, based on an input image and a guideline image resulting of an image based computer vision task on the input image, an online training of a compression domain computer vision task framework (CDCVTF). The CDCVTF includes an encoding portion and a decoding portion. The encoding portion compresses the input image into a compression domain, and the decoding portion performs the image based computer vision task in the compression domain. The online training determines at least an update to a neural network in the decoding portion that reduces a loss between a result of the image based computer vision task in the compression domain and the guideline image. The processing circuitry encodes the input image into an encoded image, and forms a bitstream that carries the encoded image and additional bits. The additional bits are indicative of the update to the neural network in the decoding portion.

The merge candidates include available merge candidates including one or more of spatial motion vector predictors (MVP(s)), temporal MVP(s), non-adjacent MVP(s), history-based MVP(s), and pairwise average MVP(s). Whether the merge candidate list includes all available SMVP, TMVP, NA-MVP, HMVP, and PAMVP, and no merge candidate in the merge candidate list has a zero motion vector (zero MV) are determined. If the merge candidate list includes all available SMVP, TMVP, NA-MVP, HMVP, and PAMVP, and no merge candidate in the merge candidate list has the zero MV, the merge candidate having the zero MV is added to the merge candidate list. Merge candidates in the merge candidate list including the merge candidate having the zero MV are reordered using template matching.
