Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding and/or decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry that can decode coded information of a transform block (TB) from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicates a region of the TB on which a secondary transform is applied. The region includes a first sub-region having transform coefficients calculated by the secondary transform and a second sub-region that is a zero-out region. In response to a determination that a neighboring transform coefficient is in the second sub-region and a current transform coefficient in the TB is not in the second sub-region, the processing circuitry determines the current transform coefficient according to a default value for the neighboring transform coefficient. The processing circuitry reconstructs a sample in the TB based on the transform coefficient for the sample.

Abstract: Video decoding innovations for multithreading implementations and graphics processor unit (“GPU”) implementations are described. For example, for multithreaded decoding, a decoder uses innovations in the areas of layered data structures, picture extent discovery, a picture command queue, and/or task scheduling for multithreading. Or, for a GPU implementation, a decoder uses innovations in the areas of inverse transforms, inverse quantization, fractional interpolation, intra prediction using waves, loop filtering using waves, memory usage and/or performance-adaptive loop filtering. Innovations are also described in the areas of error handling and recovery, determination of neighbor availability for operations such as context modeling and intra prediction, CABAC decoding, computation of collocated information for direct mode macroblocks in B slices, reduction of memory consumption, implementation of trick play modes, and picture dropping for quality adjustment.

Abstract: Catalyst compositions are prepared by contacting a palladium source and 1,3,5,7-tetramethyl-6-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-2,4,8-trioxa-6-phosphaadamantane and a methoxyocta-diene compound, in a primary aliphatic alcohol, under suitable conditions including a ratio of equivalents of palladium to equivalents of 1,3,5,7-tetramethyl-6-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-2,4,8-trioxa-6-phosphaadamantane ranging from greater than 1:1 to 1:1.3. The result is a complex of palladium, a 1,3,5,7-tetramethyl-6-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-2,4,8-trioxa-6-phosphaada-mantane ligand, and a ligand selected from a methoxyoctadiene ligand, an octadienyl ligand, or a protonated octadienyl. Such complexes may, in solution, exhibit surprising solubility and storage stability and are useful in the telomerization of butadiene, which is a step in the production of 1-octene.

Abstract: A multi-functional hand-held apparatus comprising a housing and a brush to be used jointly for bathing a person, wherein the housing comprising a chamber or a container capable of holding and squirting water or a fluid through tubes or one or more pores toward a person's hair with a directional orientation toward a back of a person's head and away from a person's face. The multi-functional hand-held apparatus comprising a series of combs or the one or more bristles for rinsing hair and pulling water or the fluid and shampoo or bubbles through the person's hair. Further provided are methods for squirting fluid, such as water, with a directional orientation onto a person's head and removing soap, foam, bubbles or excess water with a brush including one or more bristles that may be curved to conform with a person's head.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides floating gastroretentive compositions comprising a multilayer core comprising 1) a pull layer containing liothyronine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, an acid, and a gas-generating agent; and 2) a push layer. Each of the pull layer and the push layer comprises a swellable water-soluble hydrophilic polymer. The composition further comprises a permeable elastic membrane covering at least a portion of the multilayer core and containing at least one orifice facing the pull layer. The permeable elastic membrane comprises a copolymer of ethyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, and trimethylammonioethyl methacrylate chloride. The composition provides sustained release of liothyronine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

During operation, the computer network device may receive, associated with a second computer network device, a request to establish a connection, where the request includes an instance of a first type of certificate associated with a first certificate authority for a first layer in a hierarchy in the network, and/or an instance of a second type of certificate associated with a second certificate authority for a second layer in the hierarchy, where the first layer is lower in the hierarchy than the second layer. Then, the computer network device may selectively establish a connection in the network with the second computer network device based at least in part on the instance of the first type of certificate and/or the instance of the second type of certificate.

Abstract: A method and system determine a profile of a website. A record of visits by a group of profiled users to a web site is generated. Each of the profiled users has associated user demographic information. The profile for the website is calculated using the associated user demographic information and the record of visits. The profile consists of demographic characteristics of the web site. A website forecast is determined for a defined time period. The website forecast characterizes a target audience that consists of members of demographic subgroups with percentages in the website forecast that are greater than a predetermined threshold. A data or service is provided based on the calculated profile and website forecast.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for automatically determining an intent of a user based on an intent model to attach a file to a document, prompting the user to confirm the intent using a predetermined character in an inline nudge, generating and displaying an inline menu with an interactive list of ranked files as a suggestion for attachment. The disclosed technology uses the intent for specifying a scope of the inline search. The intent model for attaching content maintained by third-party applications uses a combination of an embeddings model and an N-gram model with limited seed queries and determines the intent based on intent scores associated with respective third-party applications. The present disclosure ranks respective candidate content based on a degree of relevance to the intent. The user selects one or more content from the list for attaching to the document.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to generating an engagement model to predict actions that may have a high probability of maintaining user engagement in-application or causing a user to reengage with the application. To generate the engagement model, an approach has been developed which incorporates features analysis of the application and application users. Users may be grouped based on similar features that are used to generate machine learning engagement models. The output of an engagement model may be a prediction on whether a user will continue to engage with an application. The prediction may be provided to a reengagement model which may output prompts to help increase user engagement with the application. The prompts may be based on an understanding of application users and their preferences.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for endoscopically shaping and standardizing the size of a sleeved stomach for use in gastric reduction surgery. The device and method standardize and streamline gastric reduction surgery, specifically vertical sleeve gastrectomy, providing a guide for creating the stomach reduction and also shaping a stomach which will maintain an appropriate structure post-surgery.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for determining a channel at and/or a maximum transmit power level in which the requesting General Authorized Access (GAA) citizens broadband radio service device (CBSD) can transmit prior to the next to be executed coordinated periodic activities among spectrum access systems while diminishing co-channel interference between the requesting GAA CBSD and other GAA CBSD(s) in a neighborhood centered around the requesting GAA CBSD.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing cloud-based access to consumer financial information. A cloud-based platform may receive a notification from a server, the notification comprising a request to access consumer data associated with a financial services account. After confirming authorization by both the associated financial services account provider and the consumer, the platform may configure a software object identifying the server and at least a portion of the consumer data that the server is authorized to access. After presentation of the configured software object by the third party server, the platform may verify the configured software object, and provide to the server access to the authorized consumer data. The server may then utilize the provided consumer data to perform a mobile service for the consumer.

The method includes receiving, from a user, a request to access a data exchange, retrieving a user profile for the user, wherein the user profile provides a credential for the user, and receiving a search string. The method includes determining a first search input for searching the data exchange based on the search string and the credential, performing, a first comparison of a first search input portion to respective first set of attributes for the plurality of asset types, and performing a second comparison of a second search input portion to respective second set of attributes for the plurality of asset types. The method includes generating for display a search result for the search string based on the first comparison and the second comparison.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a system includes an applicator pad, an application device (e.g., a grip), and a reservoir. The grip can be releasably couplable to the applicator pad and configured to dispose the applicator pad against a wound of a subject such that pressure can be transferred to the wound via the applicator pad to enhance hemostasis. The reservoir can be configured to contain medication to be released to the wound via the applicator pad.

Abstract: Systems and methods for assisting visually impaired passengers, e.g., blind passengers, using rideshare services is provided. The system may identify a visually impaired passenger from image data captured by one or more exterior cameras of a rideshare vehicle, e.g., by detection of use of a cane by the passenger. The system may then generate audible instructions that may be emitted via exterior and interior speakers of the vehicle or via a wirelessly paired headset worn by the passenger, to guide the passenger to the vehicle entrance and to an available passenger seat within the vehicle. The system further may detect obstacles or features in the path of the passenger, and emit audible alerts to guide the passenger around the obstacle or feature.

Abstract: A battery system for providing standby power to an elevator system is disclosed. The battery system includes a lithium battery cell, a lithium battery module comprising electrically connected cells, a control unit, and a networking unit. The battery system is electrically and communicatively connected to the elevator system and adapted to drive the elevator system when a main power supply is interrupted. Various battery system metrics are reported to the elevator system and, optionally, to a central monitoring station.

Abstract: A computer-controlled motorized pump system is provided. A generator is mechanically connected to a power takeoff. A first controller receives AC power from the generator and converts the AC power to DC power and provides DC power to a computing system that has one or more processors and one or more computer-readable hardware storage media and a user interface. A second controller is directly coupled to the first controller and provides AC power to a motor. The motor is mechanically connected to a pump, and the motor is in communication with, or controlled by, the computing system.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an encapsulated, pressurized, sublingual nano mist vapor delivery device, which may deliver a formula, including a micellized liquid nicotine formula. The device comprises a protective receptacle or housing, which preferably houses at least one canister, and a receptacle cap. The device may also comprise a custom actuator in communication with a metered valve for delivering a precise, known volume of at least one micellized liquid nicotine formula. Methods of manufacture and use are also disclosed herein.
