Abstract: Hot surface igniter assemblies used in cooktops are shown and described. The hot surface igniters include a silicon nitride ceramic body with an embedded, resistive, heat-generating circuit. The igniters are less than 0.04 inches thick, and when energized, they reach surface temperatures in excess of 2000° F. in under 4 seconds to ignite combustible gas such as propane, butane, or natural gas. Examples of cook top burner systems are also provided which allow the igniter to remain on after ignition at a power level that is lower than during ignition but high enough to ignite the cooking gas should a flame out occur. Examples are also provided of burners that ignite on a low flow setting (e.g., simmer) as opposed the high flow settings that are common in cook top industry.

Abstract: An autonomous vehicle (AV) includes a conveyor system arranged within its main cabin. The conveyor system includes attachment points for attaching transport bags to the conveyor system, and a motor to move the transport bags to different positions along the conveyor system. The AV includes a door that can open and close to provide access to the transport bags. The AV further includes a conveyor system controller that identifies a transport bag associated with a user and issues an instruction to the motor to move the transport bags along the conveyor system.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for modifying temporal dispersion in an optical signal. The system makes use of a segmented array including a plurality of independently controllable, reflective optical elements. The optical elements are configured to segment a received input optical signal into a plurality of beamlets, and to reflect and steer selected ones of the plurality of beamlets in predetermined angular orientations therefrom. A variable optical dispersion subsystem is used which has a plurality of optical components configured to receive and impart different predetermined time delays to different ones of the received beamlets, and to output the plurality of beamlets therefrom.

Abstract: For a non-volatile memory system with a multi-plane memory die having a large block size, to be able to more readily accommodate zone-based host data using zones that are of a smaller size that the block size on the memory, the memory system assigns data from different zones to different subsets of the planes of a common memory die. The memory system is configured to accumulate the data from the different zones into different write queues and then assemble the data from the different write zones into pages or partial pages of data that can be simultaneously programmed into memory cells connected to different word lines that are in different sub-blocks of different blocks in the corresponding assigned planes of the die.

Abstract: A rotary engine, parts thereof, and methods associated therewith is provided. The engine is modular and adjustable to accommodate a variety of requirements and preferences. The system includes a combustion assembly having a housing and a power rotor positioned therein. The power rotor rotates in a first direction from the beginning of each combustion process through the end of each exhaust process. The system also includes a compression assembly linked to the combustion assembly such that the compression rotor rotates in the first direction from the beginning of each intake process through the end of each compression process. A tank assembly in fluid communication with the compression assembly and the combustion assembly provides stability to the system while eliminating or otherwise reducing transitional loses.
Abstract: A system and method for content selection and presentation is disclosed. A plurality of content elements configured for presentation in at least one content container is received and one of the plurality of content elements is selected for presentation in the at least one content container. The one of the plurality of content elements is selected by a trained selection model configured to select one of an individual context or a global context. An interface including the selected one of the plurality of content elements is generated.
Abstract: At least one aspect is directed to determining an estimate of an intersection of user identifiers in a first set of user identifiers and a second set of user identifiers. The first and second sets of user identifiers can be populated with user identifiers that have interacted with the same content item or content item campaign. Estimates of intersections of the first and the second sets can be determined based on a binomial vector approach, a vector of counts approach, or a hybrid approach. The binomial vector approach generates vectors based on k hashes of each user identifier in the first set and summing the vectors to generate a first vector. The intersection can be determined based on a dot product of the first vector and a second vector similarly generated from the second set of user identifiers.

Abstract: A packet-filtering device may receive packet-filtering rules configured to cause the packet-filtering device to identify packets corresponding to network-threat indicators. The packet-filtering device may receive packets and, for each packet, may determine that the packet corresponds to criteria specified by a packet-filtering rule. The criteria may correspond to one or more of the network-threat indicators. The packet-filtering device may apply an operator specified by the packet-filtering rule. The operator may be configured to cause the packet-filtering device to either prevent the packet from continuing toward its destination or allow the packet to continue toward its destination.

Abstract: An illumination system can include a dual junction light-emitting diode (LED) array including first and second junctions that extend in a plane. The first junction can emit first light from a plurality of first light-emitting areas that are separated by first boundaries. The second junction can be disposed on the first junction such that the first light passes through the second junction. The second junction can emit second light from a plurality of second light-emitting areas. The second light-emitting areas can be separated by second boundaries that correspond in a one-to-one correspondence to the first boundaries. The second boundaries can be offset in the plane from the corresponding first boundaries. The offset can help reduce or eliminate dark bands in the combined first and second light, which could be present if the second boundaries were not offset from the first boundaries.
