Patent number: 11780431Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a first vehicle autonomously are disclosed. For instance, one or more processors may plan to maneuver the first vehicle to complete an action and predict that a second vehicle will take a particular responsive action. The first vehicle is then maneuvered towards completing the action in a way that would allow the first vehicle to cancel completing the action without causing a collision between the first vehicle and the second vehicle, and in order to indicate to the second vehicle or a driver of the second vehicle that the first vehicle is attempting to complete the action. Thereafter, when the first vehicle is determined to be able to take the action, the action is completed by controlling the first vehicle autonomously according to whether the second vehicle begins to take the particular responsive action.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2022Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: Waymo LLCInventors: Nathaniel Fairfield, Vadim Furman

Patent number: 11783198Abstract: The thriving of deep models and generative models provides approaches to model high dimensional distributions. Generative adversarial networks (GANs) can approximate data distributions and generate data samples from the learned data manifolds as well. Presented herein are embodiments to estimate the implicit likelihoods of GAN models. In one or more embodiments, a stable inverse function of the generator is learned with the help of a variance network of the generator. The local variance of the sample distribution may be approximated by the normalized distance in the latent space. Simulation studies and likelihood testing on data sets validate embodiments, which outperformed several baseline methods in these tasks. An embodiment was also applied to anomaly detection. Experiments show that the embodiments herein can achieve state-of-the-art anomaly detection performance.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2020Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: Baidu USA LLCInventors: Dingcheng Li, Shaogang Ren, Zhixin Zhou, Ping Li

Patent number: 11783895Abstract: In a memory array with a cross-point structure, at each cross-point junction a programmable resistive memory element, such as an MRAM memory cell, is connected in series with a threshold switching selector, such as an ovonic threshold switch. The threshold switching selector switches to a conducting state when a voltage above a threshold voltage is applied. When powered down for extended periods, the threshold voltage can drift upward. If the drift is excessive, this can make the memory cell difficult to access and can disturb stored data values when accessed. Techniques are presented to determine whether excessive voltage threshold drift may have occurred, including a read based test and a time based test.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2022Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: SanDisk Technologies LLCInventors: Neil Robertson, Michael Grobis, Ward Parkinson

Patent number: 11782874Abstract: Providing cache updates in a multi-node system through a service component between a lower level component and a next higher level component by maintaining a ledger storing an incrementing number indicating a present state of the datasets in a cache of the lower level component. The service component receives a data request to the lower level component from the higher level component including an appended last entry number accessed by the higher level component. It determines if the appended last entry number matches a current entry number in the ledger for any requested dataset. No match indicates that some data in the higher level component cache is stale. It then sends updated information for the stale data to the higher level component. The higher level component invalidates its cache entries and updates the appended last entry number to match a current entry number in the ledger.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2021Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Sirisha Kaipa, Madhura Srinivasa Raghavan, Neha R. Patent number: 11785641Abstract: Wireless devices may perform modified carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) techniques in order to increase reliability while maintaining a reasonable latency for communications. The wireless devices may perform listen-before-talk (LBT) techniques using an adaptive transmission threshold (e.g., an adaptive CSMA threshold). The transmission threshold may be compared to a measured signal strength magnitude to determine whether the frequency channel is quiet enough for transmission of a packet. The transmission threshold may be initially set to equal a minimum value. The wireless device may increase the transmission threshold after each instance of LBT failure to allow the wireless device to get progressively more likely to transmit the packet each time LBT fails.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2021Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: Lutron Technology Company LLCInventors: Ankit Bhutani, Richard S. Patent number: 11779196Abstract: Disclosed herein are intestine pleating attachable structures for use with endoscopes and methods for using said structures. The intestine pleating attachable structures may act in conjunction with a gastrointestinal endoscope and, optionally, a balloon to improve visualization during endoscopic procedures. The intestine pleating attachable structures are coupled to the endoscope shaft, and include at least one flexible appendage to enhance contact between the structure and the intestinal wall. When the endoscope is retracted, the flexible appendage assists in moving the intestinal wall relative to the imaging system. This movement causes the intestine to pleat. Pleating reduces looping, improves efficiency, and results in a less painful endoscopic procedure for the patient. The attachable structures may be used in conjunction with a dome-shaped balloon that is inflated at the distal, imaging end of the endoscope.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2019Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: VISUALIZATION BALLOONS, LLCInventor: Boris Reydel
