The seawater distillation system includes an apparatus having at least a vessel, a separation assembly, and at least one mist eliminator. The vessel may be adapted to hold a volume of seawater comprising a volume of salt, wherein vessel is one of externally heated and internally heated to evaporate the volume of seawater to a volume of steam and to precipitate the volume of salt. The separation assembly may be operably engaged with the vessel, wherein the separation assembly is configured to separate the volume of salt from the volume of seawater inside of the vessel. The at least one mist eliminator may be operably engaged with the vessel and positioned vertically above the separation assembly, wherein the at least one mist eliminator is configured to eliminate water droplets and salt from the volume of steam.
Abstract: The thriving of deep models and generative models provides approaches to model high dimensional distributions. Generative adversarial networks (GANs) can approximate data distributions and generate data samples from the learned data manifolds as well. Presented herein are embodiments to estimate the implicit likelihoods of GAN models. In one or more embodiments, a stable inverse function of the generator is learned with the help of a variance network of the generator. The local variance of the sample distribution may be approximated by the normalized distance in the latent space. Simulation studies and likelihood testing on data sets validate embodiments, which outperformed several baseline methods in these tasks. An embodiment was also applied to anomaly detection. Experiments show that the embodiments herein can achieve state-of-the-art anomaly detection performance.

Abstract: A class-D amplifier with multiple “nested” levels of feedback. The class-D amplifier surrounds an inner feedback loop, which takes the output of a switching amplifier and corrects for errors generated across the switching amplifier, with additional feedback loops that also take the output of the switching amplifier.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided to authenticate a user. The computer-implemented method includes obtaining, at an authentication server, a current location and an associated time from a client device of the user over a communications network; determining, by a hardware processor, a location score based on a correlation between the current location and the associated time and a historical location and a historical time that are associated with the client device of the user; determining, by the hardware processor, a risk assessment score based on the location score; and providing, over the communications network, an authentication verification for the user to perform one or more actions with an online resource based on the risk assessment score.
Abstract: A system for facilitating intensity image capture and time of flight capture. The system includes a single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) array comprising a plurality of SPAD pixels, one or more processors, and one or more hardware storage devices storing instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to configure the system to facilitate intensity image capture and time of flight capture by configuring the system to perform interleaved intensity image capture and time of flight capture operations using the SPAD array.

Abstract: Alignment between closed caption and audio/video content may be improved by determining text associated with a portion of the audio or a portion of the video and comparing the determined text to a portion of closed caption text. Based on the comparison, a delay may be determined and the audio/video content may be buffered based on the determined delay.
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for providing multi-tier quasi-licensed spectrum wireless service via a common wireless access node such as a small-cell. In one embodiment, the quasi-licensed system utilizes multi-sector antennae to create antenna lobes adaptively according to parameters associated with different cell sectors, such as user traffic, random access requests, and/or interference. In one variant, when the user traffic or interference is determined to be very high in a particular sector, the sector is configured and activated based on the availability of low-noise spectrum. In another variant, when a new sector is created, the electrical power resources available for that sector are checked, and based on the amount of power available at that sector, either CBSD Category A or B status is allocated to that sector.
Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to construction of subsurface structural elements that are configured to redirect soil forces. For instance, a form may be used to construct a subsurface structural element such that the subsurface structural element redirects soil forces to vertically displace a foundation rather than have the soil forces crack or otherwise damage the foundation.

Abstract: In various embodiments, an apparatus, a non-transitory computer-readable media, and a method are provided, involving a technique to: receive, from at least one other node in a network, a plurality of segment identifiers, utilizing at least one of a link state protocol, a distance vector protocol, or a path vector protocol, store, in a data structure, the plurality of segment identifiers associated with nodes represented in a topology of at least a portion of a network, select, from the plurality of segment identifiers in the data structure and based on a specified policy, a first sequence of segment identifiers that identify a first sequence of at least one of: one or more nodes, one or more network interfaces, or one or more network regions, at least partially in a first path segment that communicatively couples the transmitting node with a receiving node in the network and that includes at least one particular node which is not predetermined by the first sequence of segment identifiers such that the at leas
Abstract: Cooling arrangement of data center configured for backup operation, the arrangement including an active cooling system having: fluid cooling systems. The arrangement further including an intake louvers assuming a closed position separating interior space of the data center from the exterior environment during normal mode of operation and an open position enabling free flow of outside air into the interior space during backup operation; exhaust louvers assuming a closed position separating interior space of the data center from the exterior environment and an open position enabling free flow of interior air out to the exterior environment; and controller configured to direct the intake louvers and exhaust louvers to assume the open position when electrical power supply to the active cooling system has been interrupted. The arrangement further includes a fluid system which functions as an open loop in the normal mode and a closed loop in the backup mode.
Abstract: In an illustrative embodiment, a heat-not-burn tobacco aerosolization device aerosolizes a high viscosity, wet tobacco product at a very low temperature and reduces harmful and potentially harmful carcinogen (HPHC) emissions by six times or more relative to conventional heat-not-burn products while also providing substantially improved taste and user experience. Embodiments exemplified herein provide a compelling and healthier substitute for cigarette smoking that avoids the HPHC emissions of conventional heat-not-burn products while also avoiding the increased risk of addiction and short-term health effects reported in connection with conventional vaping devices.
Abstract: A deduplicated storage system storing objects receives a search term. Storage includes metadata and segments into which the objects have been split and deduplicated. The metadata includes fingerprint sequences according to which the segments should be assembled. A partial match is found when a prefix of the term is found at an end of a segment or a suffix is found at a beginning of the segment. A fingerprint of the segment having the partial match is recorded. A first sequence of fingerprints associated with a first object is read to check whether any fingerprints in the first sequence have been recorded. When a fingerprint in the sequence has been recorded, a check of a next fingerprint in the sequence is made to see if it has been recorded as having the partial match. If the next fingerprint has been recorded, the first object is reported as having the term.
Abstract: Motor vehicles may be equipped with running board activated powered closure member systems. A powered opening or closing sequence of a closure member may be initiated by activating a running board assembly of the powered closure member system in response to a user input. The user input can be provided by a limb of the user, for example. In some embodiments, the running board assembly may include integrated sensors for receiving the user input. In other embodiments, the running board assembly may be configured to function as a switch for receiving the user input.

Abstract: Various embodiments described herein provide for a terrain-aided location determination using a range/angle radar altimetry. Range/angle radar systems use vertical synthetic aperture radar measurements which do not include any cross-track resolution, such that if a range/Doppler cloud from a single VSAR image is compared to a regular DEM, there can be ambiguity in determining the cross-track position. By modifying the DEM to inherently include additional terrain signature information that could be compared to VSAR measurement, the limitation can be overcome, and a single range/angle radar system can provide an accurate position without the additional complexity of a range/angle/angle radar system.
