Abstract: An object-detection system for an automated vehicle includes an object-detector, a receiver, and a controller. The object-detector detects detectable-objects proximate to a host-vehicle. The receiver receives an indication of an object-presence from other-transmitters proximate to the host-vehicle. The controller is in communication with the object-detector and the receiver. The controller is configured to operate the host-vehicle to avoid interference with a hidden-object when the hidden-object is not detected by the object-detector and the object-presence is indicated by at least two instances of the other-transmitters.
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented herein for providing a reinforcement structure to reduce a Head Impact Criteria value associated with an object impacting a hood assembly that comprises the reinforcement structure. The reinforcement structure is arranged between an outer hood structure and an inner hood structure. The reinforcements structure comprises a main reinforcement and a reinforcement extension configured to extend laterally away from the main reinforcement. The reinforcement extension comprises a rib structure configured to accommodate an upper profile of a rigid front fascia feature and a rear flange configured to extend rearward over the rigid front fascia feature. The reinforcement extension is structured to be stiff enough to deform in a manner that reduces the amount of time an impacting structure reaches a peak acceleration value while also reducing the achievable peak acceleration value.

Abstract: Sealers, construction products, and methods of sealing construction products are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a sealer includes a first part and a second part, the first part includes an epoxy resin having an epoxy resin molecular weight of about 5,000 Daltons or greater, and also includes an epoxy functional diluent having a diluent molecular weight of about 2,000 Daltons or less. The second part includes a crosslinking agent that is a polyamine. The sealer further includes a particulate with a specific gravity of from about 1 to about 5 grams per cubic centimeter.

Exemplary systems may include a wireless communication-based tag reader that polls for a wireless transmission-based tag and reads information associated with the wireless transmission-based tag and a processor that executes instructions to identify a product/service associated with the wireless transmission-based tag, identify a plurality of products/services stored in a product/service database identified as related to the product/service associated with the wireless transmission-based tag based on a trend related to prior purchases to identify a related product/service, and generate a voice-based utterance based on the identified set of one or more related products/services.
Abstract: A histologic tissue sample support device includes a tissue cassette a frame, and a lid. The tissue cassette has a recess including a body with at least one side wall and a bottom wall and is formed of material that can be successfully sectioned in a microtome and is resistant to degradation from solvents and chemicals used to fix, process and stain tissue. The tissue cassette is movably coupled to the frame. The lid is separably coupled to a peripheral portion of the frame. When the lid is separated from the peripheral portion, the lid and the tissue cassette are capable of moving from a first position to a second position with respect to the frame, and in the second position the bottom wall and at least a portion of the side wall extend beyond a bottom edge of the frame for sectioning in the microtome.
Abstract: Techniques of deferred container deployment are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, at a computing device, a container image corresponding to the container. The container image includes a first set of files identified by symbolic links individually directed to a file in the host filesystem on the computing device and a second set of files identified by hard links. The method also includes in response to receiving the container image, at the computing device, storing the received container image in a folder of the host filesystem on the computing device without resolving the symbolic links of the first set of the files until runtime of the requested container.

After a transmission interval period of time from when the command message was transmitted elapses and based on a subsequent user interaction, the remote control device may transmit another command message, which may include a command for the lighting device to adjust to another intensity level over the fade period. The fade period may be longer than the transmission interval.

Abstract: A two-phase immersion cooling system for cooling electronics. The electronics are immersed in immersion tank filled with dielectric liquid. As liquid evaporates due to heat generated by the electronics, it enters a vapor passageway that leads the vapor to a condenser situated remotely from the immersion tank. Upon condensing at the condenser, the condensed liquid is directed to a resupply tank, wherein the condensed liquid cools. When the level of the dielectric liquid in the immersion tank drops below a set threshold, a pump is activated to deliver the condensed liquid from the resupply tank to the immersion tank. The immersion tank, vapor passageway and condenser are position inside a containment passageway. The containment passageway captures any vapor not entering the vapor passageway and direct such vapor to the condenser. The resupply tank may also be positioned within the containment passageway.
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described herein for multiple single level security (MSLS) domains including, but not limited to, a secure kernel hypervisor (SKH). The SKH configures a single multi-tenant cloud to host the MSLS domains. A cloud orchestration system (COS) configures the single multi-tenant cloud to set up a plurality of separate virtual work packages (VWPs) for the MSLS domains. A key management system (KMS) is configured to manage security objects associated with the MSLS domains.
Abstract: A non-nicotine e-vaping device includes a heater, a power control circuit, and a memory module. The heater element is configured to heat a non-nicotine pre-vapor formulation, the non-nicotine pre-vapor formulation being devoid of nicotine and including at least one non-nicotine compound. The power control circuit is coupled to the heater element through a wire. The power control circuit is configured to apply a pulse width modulated power signal to the heater element through the wire, and to receive information over the wire. The memory module is configured to detect a plurality of pulses in the pulse width modulated power signal, record information based on the detected plurality of pulses, and output the recorded information to the power control circuit via the wire.

In response to the DNS query being successful, the apparatus receives an IP address of the AFTR server from the DNS server, and establishes the DS-lite tunnel between the apparatus and the AFTR server using the IP address of the AFTR server.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium that provides an enhanced synchronization framework. One of the methods includes a primary and a second device that receive configuration information which identifies one or more actions to be performed by the secondary device when it receives specified pulses of a sequence of pulses from the primary device. Abstract: A membrane pulling device includes an elongate frame and a lever coupled with the elongate frame at a fixed position joint. The fixed position joint is positioned within a middle section of the elongate frame. A plurality of step plates are attached to the elongate frame, including a back step plate and one or more front step plates. A forward fairlead is coupled with the elongate frame and includes two pulley wheels. Side arms may pivot out from the elongate frame to assist in use of the membrane pulling device when pulling a membrane at an angle to the orientation of the device, such as adjacent to a parapet wall.
Abstract: Techniques are provided for generating a driving trajectory for a vehicle while the vehicle is blocked (e.g., the sensor of the vehicle have detected an object results in the vehicle being unable to move) by an object (e.g., another vehicle, bicycle, or a pedestrian) and executing the driving trajectory when the vehicle becomes unblocked. In addition, techniques are provided for updating a portion of a driving trajectory of a vehicle based on a determination that an object will cross a segment of the current driving trajectory at a later point, without recalculating the whole trajectory.
Abstract: Immunogenic compositions for inducing a universal immune response to influenza, and particularly influenza A, by eliciting anti-neuraminidase antibodies which provide protection against heterologous influenza infection. Compositions comprising recombinant baculovirus expression vectors expressing neuraminidase in cultured insect cells dispersed in a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier comprising insect cell culture media, and optional adjuvant. Methods of inducing immune responses against influenza, and particularly influenza A, by eliciting anti-neuraminidase antibodies in a host animal susceptible to infection.
Abstract: A method includes, in one non-limiting embodiment, sending a request from a mass memory storage device to a host device, the request being one to allocate memory in the host device; writing data from the mass memory storage device to allocated memory of the host device; and subsequently reading the data from the allocated memory to the mass memory storage device. The memory may be embodied as flash memory, and the data may be related to a file system stored in the flash memory. The method enables the mass memory storage device to extend its internal volatile RAM to include RAM of the host device, enabling the internal RAM to be powered off while preserving data and context stored in the internal RAM.
