  • Patent number: 11666541
Abstract: Systems and methods provide sugar alcohol to heat stressed ruminants to improve performance. During periods of high temperature or humidity, heat stressed ruminants may exhibit decreased dry matter intake, and in response, an effective amount of sugar alcohol such as sorbitol may be provided in the ruminant diet to cause performance to increase, which may include increased milk yield, improved feed efficiency or both compared to heat stressed dairy cattle without sugar alcohol in the diet.

  • Patent number: 11669101
Abstract: A light detection and ranging (LIDAR) device scans through a scanning zone while emitting light pulses and receives reflected signals corresponding to the light pulses. The LIDAR device scans the emitted light pulses through the scanning zone by reflecting the light pulses from an array of oscillating mirrors. The mirrors are operated by a set of electromagnets arranged to apply torque on the mirrors, and an orientation feedback system senses the orientations of the mirrors. Driving parameters for each mirror are determined based on information from the orientation feedback system. The driving parameters can be used to drive the mirrors in phase at an operating frequency despite variations in moments of inertia and resonant frequencies among the mirrors.

  • Patent number: 11670036
Abstract: An automatic threat recognition system and method is disclosed for scanning the x-ray CT image of an article to identify the objects of interest (OOIs) contained within the article, which are otherwise not always quickly apparent or discernable to an individual. The system uses a computer to receive information from two-dimensional (2D) image slices from a reconstructed computed tomography (CT) scan image and to produce a plurality of voxels for each slice of the 2D image. The computer analyzes the voxels to create a likelihood map (LM) representing likelihoods that voxels making up the CT image are associated with a material of interest (MOI). The computer further analyzes the LM to construct neighborhoods of voxels within the LM, and classifies each voxel neighborhood based on its features, thereby decluttering the LM to facilitate the process of connecting voxels of a like MOI together to form segments.

  • Patent number: 11669402
Abstract: Embodiments for a method of storing documents using a document data protection process. Documents are first compressed and stored in a container along with selected metadata. An Document Record is created for each document. A Container Record is created for each newly created container, and a Backup Record is created for each container for each backup. Once the required records are created, the process facilitates the execution of backup operations, such as full or incremental backups of the stored documents. Data tiering is supported so that low cost object storage in the public cloud is used instead of expensive processing methods like deduplication. A user interface receives a user setting dictating a storage media storing the container based on a relative availability of the storage media versus cost of storage.

  • Patent number: 11672070
Abstract: A luminaire which provides illumination (in some cases, in a coordinated manner with other nodes of a lighting network) in an industrial environment is further configured to serve as a node of a wireless process control or industrial network, which may be a mesh and/or time-synchronized wireless network. Upon detecting a loss of mains power and/or other triggering condition, the luminaire node allocates an amount of available battery power to maintain the routing of process control messages, and allocates at least some of a remaining amount of available battery power (if any) for performing lighting activities such as driving illumination and/or lighting-related communications. The allocations for (e.g., the relative priorities of) support for process control and support for lighting activities may be based on an allocation configuration and/or based on instructions received from other components of the process control network and/or the lighting network, which may include user interface devices.

  • Patent number: 11671293
Abstract: A device for implementing an antenna Ping function includes a primary module and a secondary module. The secondary module includes a secondary controller, a multiplexer, a first On-Off Keying (OOK) modem, a second OOK modem connected to the secondary controller and a corresponding multiplexer, and a plurality of antenna radio frequency (RF) ports. The multiplexer is connected to the plurality of antenna RF ports. The primary module is connected to the secondary controller through the first OOK modem. The primary module receives a Ping command transmitted by a base station, generates a Ping message, and transmits the Ping message to the secondary controller through the first OOK modem. The secondary controller transmits the received Ping message to the second OOK modem. The second OOK modem transmits the Ping message to a corresponding antenna RF port through the multiplexer. The antenna RF port feeds back a signal to the base station.
