Patent number: 11669998Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for learning a neural network and to determine a pose of a vehicle in an environment. A first processor performs a first feature extraction on sensor-based image data to provide a first feature map. The first processor also performs a second feature extraction on the aerial image data to provide a second feature map. Both feature maps are correlated to provide a correlation result. The first processor learns a neural network using the correlation result and ground-truth data, wherein each of the first feature extraction and the second feature is learned to extract a portion of features from the respective image data. A geo-tagged second feature map can then be retrieved by an on-board processor of the vehicle which, along with on-board processed sensor-based data by the network trained by the first processor, determines the pose of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2021Date of Patent: June 6, 2023Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Han UL Lee, Brent N. Patent number: 11669731Abstract: Described is a system for controlling a mobile platform. A neural network that runs on the mobile platform is trained based on a current state of the mobile platform. A Satisfiability Modulo Theories (SMT) solver capable of reasoning over non-linear activation functions is periodically queried to obtain examples of states satisfying specified constraints of the mobile platform. The neural network is then trained on the examples of states. Following training on the examples of states, the neural network selects an action to be performed by the mobile platform in its environment. Finally, the system causes the mobile platform to perform the selected action in its environment.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2019Date of Patent: June 6, 2023Assignee: HRL LABORATORIES, LLCInventors: Michael A. Patent number: 11666233Abstract: A system and method for monitoring the blood pressure of a patient that allows for a device sensor to be recalibrated according to atmospheric pressure without removing the device sensor from inside the patient. This permits quickly monitoring the blood pressure of a patient if a re-zero is needed. The invention has a blood pressure monitor (BPM) that obtains an atmospheric pressure observation. The atmospheric pressure observation is adjusted and stored to memory as a zero value. The zero value is retrieved to recalibrate the system and method if a device sensor has been disconnected from and reconnected to the same or a different BPM, the patient has been moved such that the surroundings have been altered to make it necessary to recalibrate according to atmospheric pressure, and/or the device sensor has been connected to a different patient care monitor.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2020Date of Patent: June 6, 2023Assignee: Endophys Holdings, LLCInventor: Phillip D.
