  • Patent number: 11667568
Abstract: Described are stabilized materials and methods and systems for providing said stabilized materials. The system includes a first unit for mixing a first combination that includes a quantity of drill cuttings and a drying agent. The system may include a second unit for mixing the first combination with at least a binder and/or a surface acting agent and providing a second combination. The second combination is formed when the first combination is caused to have a reduced moisture content, transitioning from a first state to a second state. The reduced moisture content in the second state is at least 20% less than the moisture content of the drill cuttings. The first combination in a second state is a stabilized material. The first combination in a second state may be a dried material. The binder and/or a surface acting agent with or without additional additives are not introduced until the first combination is in the second state.

  • Patent number: 11668259
Abstract: Methods and systems for optimizing fuel economy and maintaining particulate emissions below a threshold of an engine system in a vehicle. An engine system has port fuel injection, direct injection, variable compression ratio, and independent compression/expansion. A processor predicts settings for the four systems that optimize for a fuel economy that is maximized. A particulate rate of the engine system is computed based on the settings. A determination is made of whether the particulate rate is below a threshold. When the particulate rate is below the threshold, command signals are delivered to actuators of the systems to move to the settings. When the threshold is exceeded, the settings are revised to maintain the particulate below the threshold while optimizing for fuel economy.

  • Patent number: 11668595
Abstract: A fluid level and conductivity sensor having a sensing probe with four electrodes disposed therein particularly suited for high temperature applications. A distal end of the second and third electrodes are positioned a distance from the sensing end that is greater than distal ends of the first and fourth electrodes. The sensor includes an electronics system having a signal relay system for receiving signals from each of the electrodes and switching between different measurement modes by determining a resistance between selected pairs of electrodes based on instructions from the microcontroller. The measurement modes include a conductivity measurement mode in which a resistance between the first and fourth electrodes is determined, and a fluid level measurement mode in which a resistance between the first and third electrodes is determined and compared to a resistance between the second and third electrodes.

  • Patent number: 11669763
Abstract: In this disclosure, example quantum algorithms for approximate optimization based on a sudden quench of a Hamiltonian. While the algorithm is general, it is analyzed in this disclosure in the specific context of MAX-EK-LIN2, for both even and odd K. It is to be understood, however, that the algorithm can be generalized to other contexts. A duality can be found: roughly, either the algorithm provides some nontrivial improvement over random or there exist many solutions which are significantly worse than random. A classical approximation algorithm is then analyzed and a similar duality is found, though the quantum algorithm provides additional guarantees in certain cases.

  • Patent number: 11667318
Abstract: Various implementations relate to an operator monitoring system (OMS). Certain implementations include an OMS coupled to a rotatable portion of a steering wheel assembly of a vehicle. For example, the OMS may include an imaging unit, such as a camera, that is coupled to a central hub portion of the steering wheel assembly. The imaging unit has a field of view directed toward one or more occupants in the vehicle and is configured to capture an image signal corresponding to an imaging area in the field of view. The imaging area can be configured to encapsulate an expected position of one or more vehicle occupants. The OMS also includes one or more processing units in electrical communication with the imaging unit that receives and processes the image signal from the imaging unit to determine an occupant state and, in some implementations, provide feedback based on the determined occupant state.

  • Patent number: 11671638
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of using video program viewer interaction data that has been loaded to a media measurement database as input to a measurement engine which then calculates Linear, DVR, and VOD asset viewing activity at three levels: (a) Video Program, (b) Video Program Airing, (c) Video Program Airing Segment, where each level provides summary metrics for groupings of Demographic, Geographic, and/or Device Characteristic, and also second-by-second viewing metrics, including counting advertising impressions, within the Demographic, Geographic, Device groupings. System also accounts for reduced value of ad viewing when viewer is using trick plays or when viewer delays viewing recorded content. Together these metrics provide detailed information on customer viewing behavior which can be used to drive business decisions for service providers, advertisers and content producers. Additionally, a viewing histogram analysis is produced.

  • Patent number: 11669943
Abstract: A computational photography system is described herein including a guidance system and a detail enhancement system. The guidance system uses a first neural network that maps an original image provided by an image sensor to a guidance image, which represents a color-corrected and lighting-corrected version of the original image. A combination unit combines the original image and the guidance image to produce a combined image. A detail-enhancement system then uses a second neural network to map the combined image to a predicted image. The predicted image supplements the guidance provided by the first neural network by sharpening details in the original image. A training system is also described herein for training the first and second neural networks. The training system alternates in the data it feeds the second neural network, first using a guidance image as input to the second neural network, and then using a corresponding ground-truth image.

  • Patent number: 11672019
Abstract: Described are embodiments for selecting a preamble for a random access procedure. In an embodiment, a wireless device receives one or more configuration parameters of physical random access channel (PRACH) occasions for the random access procedure. One or more PRACH occasions of the PRACH occasions correspond to a respective RS of a plurality of RSs. The wireless device determines a RS, from the plurality of RSs, based on a reference signal received power (RSRP) value of the RS, and a transmission power reduction value associated with the RS. The wireless device determines a PRACH occasion, associated with the RS, from the PRACH occasions. Then, the wireless device transmits, via the PRACH occasion, a preamble for the random access procedure.

  • Patent number: 11669159
Abstract: In a see-through waveguide-based HMD device configured to display holographic virtual images within a field of view (FOV) of the device user, a single pixel or group of pixels are lit to supply illumination at known locations on the display that is reflected from the user's eyes and captured by one or more sensors in an eye tracker. The eye tracker may apply real-time image analysis to the captured reflected light, called “glints,” to extract features of the user's eyes to determine where the HMD device user is looking—the gaze point—and calculate eye movement, location, and orientation. A negative lens functionality utilized in the HMD device to provide a fixed focal depth for the virtual images enables the lit pixels to function as virtual glint sources for the eye tracker sensor that are located at the fixed focal depth and from multiple illumination positions within the user's FOV.

  • Patent number: 11670293
Abstract: Techniques described herein are directed to arbitrating between multiple potentially-responsive, automated-assistant capable electronic devices to determine which should respond to the user's utterance, and/or which should defer to other electronic device(s). In various implementations, a spoken utterance of a user may be detected at a microphone of a first electronic device, a spoken utterance provided by a user. Sound(s) emitted by additional electronic device(s) may also be detected at the microphone. Each of the sound(s) may encode a timestamp corresponding to detection of the spoken utterance at a respective electronic device. Timestamp(s) may be extracted from the sound(s) and compared to a local timestamp corresponding to detection of the spoken utterance at the first electronic device. Based on the comparison, the first electronic device may either invoke an automated assistant locally or defer to one of the additional electronic devices.
