Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to grounded multimodal agent interactions, where a user input is processed using a multimodal machine learning model to generate model output. The model output may then be processed to affect the behavior of an application, for example to enable a user to control the application and/or to facilitate user interactions with a conversational agent, among other examples. In some instances, at least a part of the model output may be executed or parsed, for example to call an application programming interface or function of the application. Thus, use of a multimodal machine learning model according to aspects described herein may enable the use of user-provided natural language input to affect the behavior of an application accordingly.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for language models using domain-specific model components. In some implementations, context data for an utterance is obtained. A domain-specific model component is selected from among multiple domain-specific model components of a language model based on the non-linguistic context of the utterance. A score for a candidate transcription for the utterance is generated using the selected domain-specific model component and a baseline model component of the language model that is domain-independent. A transcription for the utterance is determined using the score the transcription is provided as output of an automated speech recognition system.

Abstract: A battery and cooling device system comprising a thermal battery and a cooling device including a boiler, a condenser, a vapor tube, a reaction container, and a siphon. The boiler boils a solvent via heat drawn from the battery. The condenser condenses the vaporized solvent. The vapor tube connects the boiler to the reaction container so that the vaporized solvent travels through the vapor tube from the boiler into the condenser. The reaction container receives the liquidated solvent from the condenser so that the liquidated solvent interacts with a solute in the reaction container to effect an endothermic reaction to further draw heat from the battery. The siphon connects the reaction container to the boiler and drains the liquid solvent from the reaction container into the boiler once a predetermined amount of liquid solvent fills the reaction container.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus, system, and method for a microelectromechanical (MEM) device formed on a transparent, insulating substrate. The MEM device may take the form of an electrostatic comb actuator. The fabrication process employs three-dimensional structuring of the substrate to form the actuator combs, biasing elements, and linkages. The combs and other elements of the actuator may be rendered electrically conducting by a conformal conductive coating. The conductive coating may be segmented into a plurality of electrodes without the use of standard lithography techniques. A linear-rotational actuator is provided, which may comprise two perpendicularly-arranged, linear actuators that utilize moveable linkage beams in two orthogonal dimensions. A linear or torsional ratcheting actuator is also provided by using comb actuators in conjunction with a ratcheting wheel or cog.
