Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for facilitating data integrity processes using measures of statistical dispersion (e.g., gini impurities) of dataset features. The described mechanism may be also be used for selection and dimensionality reduction. Dimensionality reduction may enable storing the dataset using less storage space or performing other operations on the dataset using less resources. In some embodiments, the above described mechanism may be used for supervised categorial clustering and/or categorical classification.

Abstract: A non-water-activatable cast has one or more layers of sheet-like material which create a combined flexibility, stiffness, or rigidity so that the cast may be manually positioned in substantial contact with a lower extremity to be received within the cast. As such, the cast is not only readily deployable by a patient, but has predetermined flexibility located and selected to control ankle movement within a therapeutically appropriate range, whether used by itself or in association with a related orthosis, such as a CAM walker. In certain applications, the cast likewise offloads or otherwise redistributes force by virtue of the rigidity of the plantar impact surface on such cast and the rigidity of other cast portions.

Abstract: Reusable coasters with absorptive properties and liquid-activated designs are described herein. In some embodiments, the coaster includes a cover layer with bonded fibers and a liquid absorption layer. An adhesive may bond the first layer and second layer around a perimeter such that a portion is not bonded to prevent the adhesive from obstructing liquid passing from the bonded fibers of the first layer to the absorptive material included in the second layer. The opening in the portion may further prevent obstructing the view of liquid-activated images, which may be printed on the liquid absorption layer. The cover layer may protect the liquid absorption layer from direct contact with solid objects and help maintain the shape of the absorptive material when wet.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to a system and method for proactively generating an intervening message for a remote client device in response to an anticipated user action. A computing system receives one or more streams of user activity. The one or more streams of user activity include interaction with a server of an organization via an application executing on the remote client device. The computing system inputs the one or more streams of user activity into a prediction model. The computing system identifies an anticipated user action based on a prediction output from the prediction model. The computing system determines, based on a solution model, a proposed solution to the anticipated user action. The computing system generates an anticipated message to be transmitted to the remote client device of the user. The computing system transmits the anticipated message to the remote client device of the user.

Abstract: Virtual site inspections to support clinical trials is disclosed. A frame and glasses subsystem has at least a global positioning system (GPS) and is associated with a first computing device at a physical site where an inspection is conducted. A session is opened in a web-based application on a second communication device that is in communication with, but that is physically remote from, the first computing device. Location tracking using GPS allows for a location of the frame and glasses subsystem to be continuously tracked. A script from the web-based application to the first computing device enables association with a video stream and locations within the physical site. The script enables responses to be provided from the first computing device at the locations. The locations, time stamps, video stream, the responses from the script, and a device identifier is provided immutably to the web-based application.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is provided a virus purification and formulation process for purifying a flavivirus represented by one of a Yellow Fever Virus, Japanese Encephalitis virus, Dengue virus, and West Nile virus. The highly purified flavivirus virus product is characterized as having a low level of sucrose without significant virus loss such as that which is typically encountered by prior art virus purification processes. The disclosed process captures and purifies the virus, separating it from the host cell proteins and DNA, and leaving the host cell proteins and DNA behind. The process also can be used to inactivate and/or concentrate the virus sufficiently for use in formulations.

Abstract: A desolidification process enables the isolation and extraction of solid additives from an unreacted petroleum residue stream. In a hydrocracking process that mixes a solid additive with a petroleum residue feedstock to convert the petroleum residue to higher-value distillates, the desolidification process enables the recovery of the unreacted petroleum residue for conversion to a saleable product. The desolidification process involves the mixture of one or more solvents with a slurry in which solids are integrated in the petroleum residue to generate a mixture having a decreased density and viscosity as compared to the slurry, which facilitates removal of the solids.
