Abstract: The disclosure provides for a method of calibrating a detection system that is mounted on a vehicle. The method includes detecting characteristics of the mirror and characteristics of a vehicle portion using the detection system. The mirror reflects the vehicle portion to be detected using the detection system. The method also includes determining a first transform based on the detected one or more of mirror characteristics, determining a second transform based on the one or more vehicle portion characteristics, and determining a third transform based on a known position of the vehicle portion in relation to the vehicle. Further, the method includes determining a position of the detection system relative to the vehicle based on the first, second, and third transforms and then calibrating the detection system using the determined position of the detection system relative to the vehicle.

The load control system may include different control devices, such as load control devices, input devices, or other devices capable of communicating with each other to perform load control. These control devices may be capable of providing feedback to a user that indicates different network information that may be used for network diagnostics and/or configuration. For example, a lighting control device may be capable of providing feedback via a corresponding lighting load that indicates network information that may be used in network diagnostics and/or configuration.

Abstract: A method of unlocking a vehicle of a user having a handheld device based on visual domain and radio frequency (RF) domain technologies is provided. The method comprises activating an on-board apparatus of the vehicle when the handheld device of the user is within a threshold distance from the vehicle. The method further comprises comparing a visual domain position of the user based on visual domain data with an RF domain position of the user based on RF domain data by a first equation, |dvisualti(X)?dRFti(X)|<?d and a second equation, |?visualti(X)??RFti(X)|<??. The method further comprises validating the user when the first and second equations are true and unlocking the vehicle after the user is validated.

The incident visualization panel has an incidents area displaying an incident graphic visually representative of the incident information of the grouped incidents during an incident display period, an incident display period user control allowing the user to change the incident display period, an incident tag user control enabling the user to select the group incident tag to be a visible incident tag or to be a hidden incident tag, and a group timeline panel having a timeline sequence graphic representing a sequence of the grouped incidents and a display period graphic highlighting a portion of the timeline sequence graphic corresponding to the incident display period.

Abstract: A method for management of a land base includes interfacing a machine or equipment to a computer running a geographical information system (GIS) application such that the computer is configured to monitor the operations performed by the equipment or machine on the land base and store the operations as map points, lines, or polygons on at least one data layer within the GIS application. The method further includes displaying the GIS application to the operator at the point and time of performing the operations.

Abstract: An electric machine rotor includes a plurality of plates stacked along an axis of rotation. Each of the plates defines a plurality of cavities. Each cavity defines a pole arc angle, has at least one permanent magnet pocket, and has magnetic field guide chambers extending outward from the at least one permanent magnet pocket. Offset angles between the magnetic field guide chambers and the at least one permanent magnet pockets vary between at least two of the cavities of the plurality of cavities within each plate such that each plate defines at least two different pole arc angles. The plates are stacked such that the at least one permanent magnet pockets between adjacent plates are axially aligned and such that the magnetic field guide chambers between adjacent plates are axially offset.

Abstract: The invention comprises a mobile device with two circuit boards and certain shared resources, in order to provide the security of physically separate devices, yet do so in a single device using shared resources that do not affect security. Specifically, the invention has two boards connected via input/output switch, each having its own System-on-a-Chip (SoC), Memory (RAM), Storage and Radio Module (SIM(s)/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi), and may include one or more SIM cards. Touchscreen, battery, physical buttons and other peripherals are shared between boards. Each shared peripheral hardware module will be used by a single board only (the active in-use board being the “Foreground Board”); another board (the inactive “Background Board”) uses an emulated version of the same hardware module. At any moment, a user can switch between Boards and the Background Board becomes the active Foreground Board and vice versa.

A social networking application may display a third party initiated current status request notification to a content contributor user at a time not determined by the content contributor user, such as at a time determined by the social networking application or another user. The content contributor user can respond by submitting a third party initiated current status post, qualified based on at least the post having been created in response to the third party initiated current status request notification, and the post containing photo or video content recorded after the third party initiated current status request notification. The third party initiated current status post is then displayed to one or more other users in a manner that distinguished the third party initiated current status post from other content posts.

Abstract: A method of positioning a bottom hole assembly in a wellbore includes lowering the bottom hole assembly into the wellbore. The bottom hole assembly has a whipstock, a downhole tool, and a cleaning tool having a cleaning element. The method also includes cleaning at least a portion of a wall of the wellbore using the cleaning tool, and activating the downhole tool to engage the cleaned portion of the wall.

Abstract: An axe head is attached to a handle in a manner that utilizes the inertia of the axe head to bear against a structure that resists separation of the axe head from the handle. In one example, that structure is a key that fits within the handle after the axe head is slid onto the handle, resisting passage of the axe head past the key. In another example, at least one end piece is joined to a narrowed, toothed section of the handle, forming an assembly with a friction fitted portion and an end portion with a diameter that exceeds the diameter of the hole in the axe head, retaining the axe head on the friction fitted portion of the handle assembly.

Abstract: A wheeled conveyance straddles and squeezes a parapet or similar vertical wall from both the inside and outside vertical faces. Side wheels may be adjusted to be closer together or farther apart to accommodate the thickness of the wall being straddled. The conveyance traverses the parapet along the top edge, and at least one fastener driver suspended from the carriage faces one or both of the inside and outside vertical faces at some preferably adjustable distance below the top edge of the parapet. While the conveyance traverses the parapet, an actuator selectively and repeatedly actuates the fastener driver(s). Various sensors and controls are provided that permit the speed, fastener spacing, and travel distance to be adjusted. Position awareness and visual, auditory, and radio communications may optionally be employed.
