Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for estimation of a volume of liquid diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) contained within a DEF tank. In one example, a method for the estimation of the volume of liquid DEF in a DEF tank during DEF freezing conditions may include activating a heater contained within the DEF tank, and then switching estimation of the volume of liquid DEF via a first transfer function to estimation of the volume of liquid DEF via a second transfer function.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a switched-mode power supply is provided. The switched-mode power supply includes at least two output stages. Each output stage has a converter. A frequency of at least one of the output stages is modulated by way of a modulation unit configured to provide a modulation signal that is combined with a switching signal for driving a switching element of the converter of the at least one output stage.
Abstract: Website assets are optimized for vulnerability scanning using node centrality techniques. A digital footprint of network nodes associated with a domain is determined. A similarity metric is defined using a weighted linear combination of features of a node. After determining a similarity metric for pairs of related nodes in the digital footprint of a domain, a set of centroids is determined. The reduced set of centroids is acted upon for vulnerability scanning.
Abstract: Battery management systems and methods for using the same to obtain battery shock and/or rollover data. An exemplary battery management system of the present disclosure comprises an accelerometer configured to obtain acceleration data, a microcontroller operably connected to the accelerometer and configured to receive the acceleration data from the accelerometer, and a data storage medium in communication with the microcontroller, the data storage medium configured to store the acceleration data therein, wherein when the battery management system is in communication with a battery, the accelerometer can obtain the acceleration data relating to the battery, and the microcontroller can operate to disconnect the battery from a load connected thereto should the acceleration data meet or exceed a threshold limit.

Abstract: In one aspect, a server computer is configured to facilitate operation of a movable barrier operator using voice commands. The server computer includes a processor configured to receive a request for a first rolling voice identifier from a communication apparatus in response to receipt of a voice command of a user requesting a state change of a movable barrier. The processor is configured to send the first rolling voice identifier to the communication apparatus causing the communication apparatus to provide a first physical stimulus to the user based at least in part on the first rolling voice identifier and user account information. The processor is configured to receive a communication indicative of a user voice response to the first physical stimulus and determine whether to instruct the movable barrier operator to change a state of the movable barrier based on the user voice response to the first physical stimulus.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for temperature sensing in a detector system. Dark current from pixels in a pixel array of the detector system can be filtered to remove noise and processed to determine a temperature of the pixel array from the filtered dark current. Calibration of the dark current for a range of temperatures can be performed. In embodiments, the pixels comprise photodiodes.
Abstract: For the shipping industry, these fuels provide solutions to long outstanding technical problems that heretofore hindered supply of low sulfur marine fuels in quantities needed to meet worldwide sulfur reduction goals. Marine shipping use of high sulfur bunker oils is reported as largest source of world-wide transportation SOx emissions. When ships on the open seas burn cheap low grade heavy bunker oils high in sulfur, nitrogen and metals, the SOx, NOx, and metal oxides go to the environment. This invention converts essentially all of each barrel of crude feed to a single ultraclean fuel versus conventional refining where crude feed is cut into many pieces, and each piece is sent down a separate market path meeting various different product specifications. When in port, ships can use these fuels to generate and sell electricity to land based electrical grids to offset fuel cost in an environment-friendly manner.
Abstract: A robotic system and method for aligning a target to an equipped vehicle for calibration of a sensor on the equipped vehicle includes a vehicle support stand upon which an equipped vehicle is disposed in an established known position for calibration of the sensor, and a robotic manipulator having a multi-axis robotic arm configured to moveably hold a target. The robotic manipulator is configured to position the target into a calibration position relative to the sensor on the equipped vehicle by longitudinal movement of the robotic manipulator relative to the vehicle support stand and by movement of the robotic arm based on the established known position of the equipped vehicle on the vehicle support stand whereby the sensor is able to be calibrated using the target.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a secure, user-transparent, and highly efficient content provider-specific identifier (“CPSID”), sometimes referred to as a “read-only cookie” (“ROC”). These content provider-specific identifiers may be generated by the client device and encrypted with a public key of the content provider, preventing third parties from indirectly identifying matches, and obviating the need for provider-side cookie matching tables and resource-intensive tracking communications. The generation of content provider-specific identifiers may be controlled by user policies, such that identifiers are only created for content providers with compliant terms of service (ToS), e.g. retrievable from a predetermined address within the domain; content providers that are on a whitelist (e.g. for which the user has explicitly provided consent); and/or content providers that are not on a blacklist (e.g. for which the user has explicitly refused consent).
Abstract: An approach to parallel access of data from a distributed filesystem provides parallel access to one or more named units (e.g., files) in the filesystem by creating multiple parallel data streams such that all the data of the desired units is partitioned over the multiple streams. In some examples, the multiple streams form multiple inputs to a parallel implementation of a computation system, such as a graph-based computation system, dataflow-based system, and/or a (e.g., relational) database system.

Abstract: Various systems described herein may allow a user's personal information, such as their medical history, to be automatically delivered to appropriate emergency personnel in response to a reported emergency, such as a 911 call, activation of a smoke alarm or security system, or other emergency. Various items of personal and confidential information may be stored in a secure location, and the user may provide advanced approval to have the information automatically delivered to emergency responders in response to a request for emergency assistance. For example, after the user initiates a request for emergency assistance, a computing device may determine whether the user has granted approval for emergency delivery of the user's confidential information, and if such approval has been granted, the computing device may request the delivery of the user's confidential information to the emergency responders.

Abstract: Intelligent illumination device are disclosed that use components in an LED light to perform one or more of a wide variety of desirable lighting functions for very low cost. The LEDs that produce light can be periodically turned off momentarily, for example, for a duration that the human eye cannot perceive, in order for the light to receive commands optically. The optically transmitted commands can be sent to the light, for example, using a remove control device. The illumination device can use the LEDs that are currently off to receive the data and then configure the light accordingly, or to measure light. Such light can be ambient light for a photosensor function, or light from other LEDs in the illumination device to adjust the color mix.
