Patent number: 11616409Abstract: An electric machine rotor includes a plurality of plates stacked along an axis of rotation. Each of the plates defines a plurality of cavities. Each cavity defines a pole arc angle, has at least one permanent magnet pocket, and has magnetic field guide chambers extending outward from the at least one permanent magnet pocket. Offset angles between the magnetic field guide chambers and the at least one permanent magnet pockets vary between at least two of the cavities of the plurality of cavities within each plate such that each plate defines at least two different pole arc angles. The plates are stacked such that the at least one permanent magnet pockets between adjacent plates are axially aligned and such that the magnetic field guide chambers between adjacent plates are axially offset.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2021Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Chun Tang, Franco Leonardi, Michael W. Patent number: 11613895Abstract: A securing system for use with glass panels is provided. The securing system provides clamping and securing forces to a panel held within a base shoe system, e.g., of a frameless glass guard railing. The securing system includes a back plate with separately tapered portions, and a shim assembly including tapered shim members. Each tapered shim member overlays a separately tapered portion of the back plate and is laterally positionable thereupon. Downward forces applied to the shim members are translated into lateral forces causing the shim members to move laterally in relation to the back plate. These lateral translations cause the system's width to increase to secure the panel within the base shoe and/or decrease to release the panel from the base shoe. The system also includes tools to apply said downward forces.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2021Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: FRAMELESS HARDWARE COMPANY LLCInventor: Gary Sprague

Patent number: 11615410Abstract: Heartbeat consensus forming for the state of a digital ledger built upon a blockchain to provide users with the ability to securely, accurately, and verifiably share state information between distrustful parties is provided herein. The digital ledger is hosted in a networked environment, accessible by multiple parties. Heartbeat transactions allow clients, who are not in direct communication with one another and may distrust one another, to verify the integrity of the digital ledger via consensus. The consensus is readily verifiable by each client on its own machine and allows the ledger to be recovered to an agreed-to state in the event of a fault initiated by a client or the host of the ledger, whether malicious or otherwise. The digital ledger is freely movable to different hosts in the event of a fault.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2022Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Srinath Suresh Setty, Ramarathnam Venkatesan, Soumya Basu

Patent number: 11614854Abstract: Examples provide an accessibility manager enabling a persistent floating secondary stage for presentation of user-configurable content during a video conferencing meeting. A primary stage is provided during each video conferencing meeting. The primary stage includes a roster of meeting attendees and an area for displaying shared content. The user creates configurable settings which are used at every meeting to generate a customized secondary stage. The secondary stage is an overlay which persists on the user interface even if the primary stage is minimized as the user multi-tasks during the meeting. The secondary stage displays video feed for one or more selected meeting attendees, such as an interpreter. When an interpreter speaks on behalf of the user, the user receives the active speaker attribution. The configurable settings permit the user to control the secondary stage video feed quality, sizing, aspect ratio, display location, captioning, role designation and active speaker designation.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2022Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Toby Jonathan Fitch, Christopher Michael Sano

Patent number: 11615355Abstract: Aspects of the technology relate to providing service area maps for an autonomous vehicle transportation service having a fleet of vehicles. For instance, each vehicle of the fleet is associated with a polygon corresponding to a service area for that vehicle. A first location may be received from a client computing device, and a set of vehicles of the fleet of vehicles that are currently available to provide transportation services may be identified based on the first location. The polygons associated with each of the set of vehicles may be used to determine a first polygon having a geographic area. A first portion of map information corresponding to the geographic area of the first polygon may be identified, and the first portion may be provided to the client computing device for display to a user such that the portion represents a currently available service area for the user.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2019Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Waymo LLCInventors: David Margines, Tacettin Guney, Saksiri Tanphaichitr, Jeffrey Min, Laurens Feenstra, Peter Pawlowski, Dirk Haehnel

Patent number: 11615187Abstract: A TPM is implemented in an SOC for thwarting PIN state replay attacks. Programmable fuses are used as a counter and an on-die RAM stores a blown-fuse count and a TPM state that includes a PIN-failure count and a fuse count. TPM initialization includes incrementing the TPM state PIN-failure count if the blown-fuse count is greater than the TPM state fuse count. Once a PIN is received, if the TPM state PIN-failure count satisfies a PIN failure policy and the PIN is correct, the TPM state PIN-failure count is cleared, and if the PIN is incorrect, a fuse is blown and the blown-fuse count is incremented. If the fuse blow fails, TPM activity is halted. If the fuse blow succeeds, the TPM state PIN-failure count is incremented and the TPM state fuse count is set equal to the blown-fuse count. The TPM state is saved to off-die non-volatile memory.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2021Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Ling Tony Chen, Felix Domke, Ankur Choudhary, Bradley Joseph Litterell

Patent number: 11613712Abstract: For the shipping industry, these fuels provide solutions to long outstanding technical problems that heretofore hindered supply of low sulfur marine fuels in quantities needed to meet worldwide sulfur reduction goals. When ships on the open seas burn cheap low grade heavy bunker oils high in sulfur, nitrogen and metals, the SOx, NOx, and metal oxides go to the environment. This invention converts essentially all of each barrel of crude feed to a single ultraclean fuel versus conventional refining where crude feed is cut into many pieces, and each piece is sent down a separate market path meeting various different product specifications. When in port, ships can generate and sell electricity to land based electrical grids to offset fuel cost in an environment-friendly manner.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2022Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: Mawetal LLCInventors: Mohammed Wohaibi, Tom F.
