  • Patent number: 11524209
Abstract: A system and method for brainwave entrainment using virtual objects and gamification, in which brainwave entrainment is applied using some combination of gaming elements, and brainwave activity is enhanced by virtue of the user's active participation. Long-term use is encouraged by virtue of the entertaining nature of the gamification. Depending on configuration, the system and method may comprise a display comprising virtual objects, a light-producing device (other than the display), an audio-producing device such as speakers or headphones, a haptic feedback device such as a vibratory motor, and various devices for monitoring the user's attention. A software application induces brainwave entrainment via one or more of the devices of the system.

  • Patent number: 11524524
Abstract: Methods and devices and clamps for separating a hub from a rotor of a rotor/hub assembly, including a platform having a top portion to receive the rotor and an opening to allow a pusher from a jack or press to pass through the opening, and a set of clamps configured to hold the rotor in a fixed position with respect to the platform while the pusher pushes through the opening to contact the hub to separate the hub from the rotor. The clamps are generally C-shaped and devoid of moving parts and slip inwardly upon the platform to hold the rotor while the pusher pushes upward to release the hub from the rotor, and the clamps have a slot to allow the clamps to rotate and store out of position in a non-use mode.

  • Patent number: 11528481
Abstract: Techniques and tools for encoding enhancement layer video with quantization that varies spatially and/or between color channels are presented, along with corresponding decoding techniques and tools. For example, an encoding tool determines whether quantization varies spatially over a picture, and the tool also determines whether quantization varies between color channels in the picture. The tool signals quantization parameters for macroblocks in the picture in an encoded bit stream. In some implementations, to signal the quantization parameters, the tool predicts the quantization parameters, and the quantization parameters are signaled with reference to the predicted quantization parameters. A decoding tool receives the encoded bit stream, predicts the quantization parameters, and uses the signaled information to determine the quantization parameters for the macroblocks of the enhancement layer video. The decoding tool performs inverse quantization that can vary spatially and/or between color channels.

  • Patent number: 11524672
Abstract: An electric motor drive retrofit system (EMDRS) comprises a power system, an energy storage system (ESS), a cooling system, a vehicle control unit (VCU), and a user interface device (UID). A non-hybrid combustion engine drive vehicle with tight space constraints is retrofittable with the EMDRS to provide hybrid drive functionality. EMDRS includes a motor generator unit (MGU) coupled to a motor control unit that transfers charge between MGU and ESS. During retrofit, the MGU is coupled between a transmission and an internal combustion engine (ICE) of the vehicle without extending a powertrain length by more than five inches. VCU does not interfere with any pre-existing vehicle electronics. The VCU controls the EMDRS to add torque (discharging ESS) or to remove torque (charging the ESS) based on a selected operating mode and vehicle sensor information (for example, brake and throttle pressure). Operating modes are selected by driver via the UID.
