Abstract: A method and apparatus for the quantitative determination of an individual's risk for sudden cardiac death (SCD) is described. Risk determination is accomplished and may have a sensitivity and specificity of greater than 95%, by generating linear and nonlinear mathematical digital ECG-constructed models from digital ECG-type data of an individual's digital ECG, determining stability/instability of digital ECG-constructed control model systems corresponding to the digital ECG-constructed models by a plurality of techniques and transforming stability/instability values obtained by the determining stability/instability into a quantitative value reflecting an individual's risk for SCD.

Abstract: Examples are disclosed that relate to displaying a hologram via an HMD. One disclosed example provides a method comprising obtaining depth data from a direct-measurement depth sensor included in the case for the HMD, the depth data comprising a depth map of a real-world environment. The method further comprises determining a distance from the HMD to an object in the real-world environment using the depth map, obtaining holographic imagery for display based at least upon the distance, and outputting the holographic imagery for display on the HMD.

Abstract: A location indicator assembly has a support mechanism for undergoing movement between a retracted position and a deployed position, an indicator device mounted to the support mechanism, and a mechanism for deploying and retracting the support mechanism to place the indicator device between deployed and retracted states, respectively. A flotation device, such as a life jacket, is equipped with the location indicator assembly to provide high visibility for an individual floating in open water while using the flotation device.

Abstract: Packaging for individual strands of dental floss. The packaging may include a container defining a chamber having a dispensing portion. An insert is positioned in the chamber and includes a first panel defining a first edge and a second panel. The second panel defines a passage extending between its sides. The second panel also defines a second edge positioned on an opposite side of the passage as the first edge. The package also includes a serpentine floss guide path defined by the container, the first panel, and the second panel. The serpentine floss guide path extends from the dispensing portion, along one side of the first panel, around and over the first edge to one side of the second panel, through the passage, and around and over the second edge. Strands of floss extend along the serpentine floss path and may be removed from the container one at a time by grasping and pulling the end positioned at the dispensing portion.

Abstract: A system and method enabling the storage and retrieval of packetized digital content data in a manner which minimizes the detrimental effects of dropped data packets. The dropped packets, encoded in accordance with a first profile, are detected and corresponding data packets obtained from an alternate profile of the digital content are substituted for the missing packets when the data is retrieved. Upon retrieval, the stored data packets are decoded in accordance with protocols associated with the particular profile from which each stored packet was obtained.

The driver piston may be positioned within the interior volume, wherein the spring piston, the driver piston, and the reactor housing at least partially define a perimeter of a reaction chamber within the interior volume.

Abstract: A method for customizing an optical character recognition system is disclosed. The optical character recognition system includes a general-purpose decoder configured to convert character images, recognized in a digital image, into text based on a general-purpose text structure. An application-specific customization is received. The application-specific customization includes an application-specific text structure that differs from the general-purpose text structure. A customized model is generated based on the application-specific customization. An enhanced application-specific decoder is generated by modifying the general-purpose decoder to, during run-time execution of the optical character recognition system, leverage the customized model to convert character images demonstrating the application-specific text structure into text.

Abstract: Perception data based multipath identification and correction is based on recognition that sensors such as radar, LIDAR, and cameras can generate perception data indicative of locations and properties of terrestrial objects in an environment surrounding a satellite navigation device (e.g., a GNSS receiver), which data may then be used in training, or updating, a model for determining or correcting distances to satellites to account for multipath. Multipath identification includes identifying multipaths to train the model, e.g., by using perception data to perform ray tracing. Multipath correction includes using the model to correct distance errors due to the multipaths or, equivalently, using the model to determine distances to satellites in a manner that accounts for the multipaths.

The bin groups may be re-associated with remaining active threads. I/O jobs may be redistributed among the active threads re-assigning job bins to bin groups. One or more queued I/O jobs may be moved to the thread that now owns the I/O job.
