Publication number: 20220391243Abstract: A thread may be de-activated (terminated or hibernated) or activated (e.g., re-activated or create anew if allowed) on a processing node, in response to which it may be desirable to redistribute the I/O jobs among the now active threads. Redistributing the I/O jobs may involve re-associating one or more active threads resulting from the activation or de-activation with one or more of the bin groups and/or re-assigning one or more job bins with one or more bin groups, for example, as will now be described. The bin groups may be re-associated with remaining active threads. I/O jobs may be redistributed among the active threads re-assigning job bins to bin groups. One or more queued I/O jobs may be moved to the thread that now owns the I/O job.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2021Publication date: December 8, 2022Applicant: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Varsha Shetty, Manickavasaham M. Publication number: 20220392556Abstract: Non-volatile memory systems and method for managing P/E cycling is disclosed. Memory systems include multi-plane (e.g., 2-plane or 4-plane) programming operations in which new blocks within a plane replace faulty/bad blocks. Existing blocks, having undergone several P/E cycles more than the new block(s), require a lower programming voltage and are programmed using an adaptive (reduced) programming voltage. New block(s) require an additional voltage, and a delta voltage is added to the programming voltage to increase the gate-to-channel voltage. To prevent the delta voltage from over-programming the existing blocks, a voltage equal to the delta voltage is applied bit lines of the existing blocks, thereby reducing the effective gate-to-channel voltage on the existing blocks.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2021Publication date: December 8, 2022Applicant: SanDisk Technologies LLCInventor: Xiang Yang

Publication number: 20220393906Abstract: A system for automatically assigning sequential identification values to networked nodes, such as accessory modules within a storage and dispensing enclosure. The system includes a host controller communicating with client controllers via both a shared, multi-drop communications bus and an initial segment of a daisy-chained, point-to-point communications bus. The host controller issues a token to a first client controller via the point-to-point bus, then queries the client controllers, receives a reply from the client controller having the token (associating that controller with a sequential identification value), and commands passing of the token, each via the multi-drop bus. The client controllers receive the token and query via the respective busses and, if that controller has the token, reply to the query via the multi-drop bus, as well as receive the command and, if that controller has the token, pass the token via the point-to-point bus to a subsequent controller.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2022Publication date: December 8, 2022Applicant: APEX INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGIES LLCInventors: Timothy P. Publication number: 20220391266Abstract: A method for function call invocation is described. A function call that is implemented in a first programming language and corresponds to a function implemented in a second programming language is received by an application bridge interface implemented in the first programming language. The first programming language is different from the second programming language. A common data structure is generated by a bridge module based at least in part on the function call received by the application bridge interface. The common data structure is sent by the bridge module to a native bridge interface implemented in the second programming language. The common data structure is converted by the native bridge interface to a native data structure implemented in the second programming language. The function is called by the native bridge interface using the native data structure implemented in the second programming language.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2021Publication date: December 8, 2022Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventor: David Arthur EATOUGH

Publication number: 20220394307Abstract: Techniques and tools for reducing latency in video encoding and decoding by constraining latency due to reordering of video frames, and by indicating the constraint on frame reordering latency with one or more syntax elements that accompany encoded data for the video frames. For example, a real-time communication tool with a video encoder sets a syntax element that indicates a constraint on frame reordering latency, which is consistent with inter-frame dependencies between multiple frames of a video sequence, then outputs the syntax element. A corresponding real-time communication tool with a video decoder receives the syntax element that indicates the constraint on frame reordering latency, determines the constraint on frame reordering latency based on the syntax element, and uses the constraint on frame reordering latency to determine when a reconstructed frame is ready for output (in terms of output order).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 18, 2022Publication date: December 8, 2022Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventor: Gary J.
