Patent number: 11518110Abstract: There is provided an adhesive application apparatus capable of efficiently applying an adhesive without inhibiting curing of the adhesive. An adhesive application apparatus of the present invention includes a mounting table 10, an adhesive dosing unit 20, and an ultraviolet irradiation unit 30, and it applies a delayed-ultraviolet-curable adhesive 200 to a surface of a panel 100. The panel 100 is mounted on a mounting surface S10 of the mounting table 10. The adhesive dosing unit 20 applies the adhesive 200 to the surface of the panel 100 mounted on the mounting table 10 by discharging the adhesive 200 from an adhesive dosing port H20. The ultraviolet irradiation unit 30 irradiates the adhesive 200 dosed from the adhesive dosing port H20 with ultraviolet light L. Here, the ultraviolet irradiation unit 30 irradiates the adhesive 200 with the ultraviolet light L along the mounting surface S10 before the adhesive 200 dosed from the adhesive dosing port H20 is applied to the surface of the panel 100.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2021Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: MOMENTIVE PERFORMANCE MATERIALS JAPAN LLCInventors: Makoto Sakakibara, Hiroyuki Ueno

Patent number: 11522740Abstract: In 5G and 6G, each message element of a message is transmitted with a constant amplitude level. Disclosed herein is a more resource-efficient modulation scheme in which each message element is modulated to two of the amplitude levels, with a first amplitude level in the first half of a message element, and a second amplitude level in the second half. The information density of the message is thereby doubled, saving time and resources. The transition between the first and second amplitude levels can be abrupt, as in a square wave, or ramped, as in a linear ramp function. The changing amplitude may cause a frequency shift; however the transmitter can calculate that shift and apply a frequency correction to each message element to compensate. The changing amplitude can also deposit energy in adjacent subcarriers; however the receiver can calculate that energy and subtract it from the adjacent subcarriers before demodulating.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2022Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: ULTRALOGIC 6G, LLCInventors: David E. Patent number: 11519997Abstract: A laser-strike detection system includes an imaging sensor mounted on a platform, and a computing device. The imaging sensor outputs image frames that are each representative of a portion of the platform at a different time, during which a laser may be striking the platform. The computing device receives the image frames, and computes a delay map that indicates time-of-arrival delays of the laser beam at points on the portion of the platform. The computing device converts the delay map to a path-length variation map by multiplying the delay map by the propagation speed of light. The computing device fits a plane to the path-length variation map constrained by a topological model of the platform. The computing device computes angular deflections in x- and y-directions based upon the fit, which angular deflections define a direction from the platform to an emitter of the laser beam.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2021Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLCInventor: John Sandusky

Patent number: 11520308Abstract: An improved method for configuring progressive ophthalmic lenses is disclosed. The method includes computing an improved merit function that modulates reduction of peripheral values of the mean sphere according to the prescription sphere. According to the method the amount of reduction of mean sphere of the lens peripheral regions is dependent on the prescription resulting from a modified merit function. As such, the reduction of peripheral mean sphere varies based on the prescription. According to the modified merit function and resulting improved merit function, the greater the hyperopia and/or presbyopia defined in a prescription, the smaller the reduction of the peripheral value of mean sphere. Accordingly, when the peripheral mean sphere reduction is relaxed, a near region is made wider.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2020Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: Indizen Optical Technologies of America, LLCInventors: José Alonso, Eva Chamorro, Eduardo Pascual, José Miguel Cleva

Patent number: 11519381Abstract: A progressing cavity device operates as a motor to impart torque to a bit. A stator of the device defines an internal profile having uphole stages with a first dimension being less than a second dimension of downhole stage. A rotor has an external profile with a constant outer dimension along its length. Disposed in the stator, the rotor defines cavities with the stator and is rotatable with pumped fluid progressing in the cavities from the uphole to downhole to transfer torque to the drive toward the downhole end. Although the rotor is subjected at the downhole end to a reactive torque from the bit, the interference fit of the rotor's constant dimension with the stator's downhole stages is less than with the uphole stages, which can mitigate issues with heat buildup in the downhole stages. The device can also operates as a progressing cavity pump.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2020Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: WEATHERFORD TECHNOLOGY HOLDINGS, LLCInventors: Harjinder Singh Parhar, Travis Lee Chometsky, Michael W.
