Patent number: 11519990Abstract: A method for producing an image of an object with a MRI system includes providing a Shear In Readout Encoding Imaging (SIREN) gradient pulse in a phase gradient signal waveform. The phase gradient signal waveform is applied to a phase gradient coil of the MRI system. The application of the SIREN gradient pulse provides a SIREN k-space of the object which has SIREN k-space lines with a shear angle. A MR image space data from the SIREN k-space is then obtained by applying a reconstruction technique. Finally, the image of the object is generated by transforming SIREN MR image space data into regular image space data using a decoding algorithm based on the shear angle.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2022Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: GE Precision Healthcare LLCInventor: Hao Shen

Patent number: 11517327Abstract: Multi-directional drilling of a bone to create a perforation of bone cortex. The disclosure presents methods of using a drill having a measurement system to advance a drill bit through a bone with detection of penetration or eruption of the leading edge of the drill bit through the exterior of the cortex layer of the bone. In this regard, operation of the drill may be controlled to limit soft tissue damage adjacent to the distal side of the bone. The drill bit may be at least partially retracted through a first bore, repositioned, and one or more additional bores may be created, all while monitoring for penetration of the leading edge of the drill bit relative to the cortical layer. In turn, a perforated distal side of the cortical layer of the bone may be created that creates a desired weakness in the bone, which may be useful in various operations including when performing a corticotomy or the like.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2021Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: McGinley Engineered Solutions, LLCInventors: Joseph McGinley, Adam M. Patent number: 11518136Abstract: A marine deck member and the process for forming the same. The marine deck member comprises a sandwich-type composite panel made by a compression molding process. In such a process, the panel is made by subjecting a heated stack of layers of material to cold-pressing in a mold. The cellular core has a 2-D array of cells, with end faces open to the respective layers or skins. The surface traction of this type of composite panel can be enhanced for marine deck applications by controlled debossing, or embossing, of the first skin while it cools in the compression mold. The debossing effect can be affected by applying pressurized gas, e.g., pressurized air, onto the outer surface of the first skin while in the compression mold. The embossing can be affected by applying vacuum pressure on the outer surface of the first skin while in the compression mold.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2017Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: Global IP Holdings, LLCInventor: Darius J. Patent number: 11519997Abstract: A laser-strike detection system includes an imaging sensor mounted on a platform, and a computing device. The imaging sensor outputs image frames that are each representative of a portion of the platform at a different time, during which a laser may be striking the platform. The computing device receives the image frames, and computes a delay map that indicates time-of-arrival delays of the laser beam at points on the portion of the platform. The computing device converts the delay map to a path-length variation map by multiplying the delay map by the propagation speed of light. The computing device fits a plane to the path-length variation map constrained by a topological model of the platform. The computing device computes angular deflections in x- and y-directions based upon the fit, which angular deflections define a direction from the platform to an emitter of the laser beam.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2021Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLCInventor: John Sandusky
