Abstract: Spinal implants that are configured for a minimally invasive approach to a patient's intervertebral disc space, optimized to avoid blood vessels and nervous tissue, maximizing endplate coverage and promoting sagittal balance, are provided. Insertion and fixation can be accomplished through a narrow access window, thereby allowing better access to more spinal levels while being less invasive than other approaches. The spinal implants may facilitate fusion, and include visualization features to assist in the implantation and verify proper placement and vary segmental angle of lordosis. Methods of implanting the spinal implants to treat a patient's spine are also disclosed.

Abstract: Techniques are described for a materials test controller that includes a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The FPGA is configured for acquiring sensor data from sensor device(s) that measure the current state of sample material(s) on which the materials testing is performed. For controlling the actuator device, the FPGA generates a waveform of setpoints; each setpoint represents a desired state of the materials testing. Based on the sensor data, the FPGA calculates process variable(s) for input to a control logic of the FPGA. Using multiple iterations to generate output signals for the actuator device, the control logic receives the process variable(s) and a setpoint of, and based at least on these received inputs, generates an output signal. The output signal of the FPGA causes the actuator device to transition from the current state to a new state that is closer to the desired state as measured by the sensor devices.

Abstract: In accordance with one or more embodiments of the invention, nut restrainers and methods of use are presented, particularly as they apply to high-strength bolted connections for steel structures. Nut restrainers may define a cavity that accepts insertion of a nut, and may include deformable or removable centering elements that allow the nut to move laterally to accept a bolt that is inserted non-concentrically with the nut restrainer, and may comprise a mobile central portion and a rigid outer portion; A method of positioning a nut restrainer concentric with a bolt hole accurate to within the radial tolerance of the bolt hole.
Abstract: A gripless, non-lethal, self-protection weapon comprises a clamshell with top and bottom shells pivotally coupled together about a rear hinge and defining a cavity therein. The clamshell has a forward opening and the top shell has a top opening. A panel is slidably carried by the top shell and selectively covers the top opening. A nozzle is carried by the clamshell at the forward opening. A cartridge is removably positioned in the cavity. The cartridge comprises a barrel with an outlet positioned at the forward opening of the clamshell; a compressed gas vessel; and a diverter to redirect compressed gas from the compressed gas vessel in a rearward direction towards an inlet of the barrel in a forward direction.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods to determine which specific message elements, of a 5G or 6G message, are faulted. By comparing the amplitude or phase modulation of each message element to a predetermined modulation level, and comparing the difference to a threshold, the faulted message elements can be identified and, potentially, corrected. For example, the modulation scheme may provide two superposed orthogonal signals, thereby providing two amplitude-modulated signals per message element, and a modulation quality can be derived according to the differences between those two amplitudes and the closest predetermined amplitude levels of the modulation scheme. The SNR or SINR of each message element can also be measured and included in the modulation quality determination. Artificial intelligence may enable improved or faster determination of the faulted message elements by including additional input factors.
Abstract: An object interface for quick access to object(s) of a communication platform is described. Server(s) of the communication platform can receive, in association with a user interface of the communication platform, a request to associate an object with an object interface associated with a virtual space of the communication platform. The server(s) can cause one or more objects to be presented via the user interface and can receive a selection of a particular object from the one or more objects. The server(s) can cause, in response to the selection, a user interface element representative of the particular object to be associated with the object interface, wherein the user interface element is associated with an actuation mechanism that, when actuated, causes the particular object to be presented via the user interface. Notifications associated with the particular object can be indicated by annotation(s) to the user interface.
