Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method for performing anti-malware scanning of data files that is data-centric rather than device-centric. In the example, a plurality of computing devices are connected via a network. An originating device creates or first receives data, and scans the data for malware. After scanning the data, the originating device creates and attaches to the data a metadata record including the results of the malware scan. The originating device may also scan the data for malware contextually-relevant to a second device.

Abstract: An apparatus includes processing circuitry, which determines a block vector that points to a reference block in a same picture as a current block in an intra block copy mode. The current block is one of a plurality of coding blocks in a coding tree block (CTB) with a right to left coding order being allowed within the CTB. The processing circuitry checks that two corner samples of the reference block have been reconstructed based on first outputs from a derivation process for block availability. The processing circuitry checks that a non corner sample of the reference block has been reconstructed based on a second output from the derivation process. The processing circuitry encodes the current block based on reconstructed samples of the reference block after a determination that the two corner samples of the reference block and the non corner sample of the reference block have been reconstructed.

Abstract: Examples described herein relate to standardizing content requests and responses in a content delivery network (CDN). An edge node receives a control object including sets of instructions each implementing portions of a customer's business logic. The edge node may receive, from a client, a content request identifying a content item, and may apply a set of the instructions which causes the edge node to (i) determine whether any changes are needed for the benefit of a cache server and whether any changes are need for the benefit of an origin server, and (ii) generate a processed client request identifying the content item and including, if needed, any changes for the benefit of the cache server and the origin server. The edge node transmits the processed client request to the cache server, receives a response from the cache server, and transmits a processed client response to the client.

Abstract: A node is operable to determine to send at least on data block to a destination node. A second relay node of an initial route that includes exactly a predefined number of relay nodes for relaying at least one data block from the node to a destination node is identified. A set of intermediate node options is identified by identifying nodes of the database system capable of receiving the at least one data block from the node and further capable of sending the at least one data block to the second relay node. Intermediate node selection data is generated by selecting one intermediate node from the set of intermediate node options. The at least one data block is transmitted from the node to the one intermediate node via the first direct connection to facilitate sending of the at least one data block from the node to the destination node.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to connectors for high density neural interfaces and methods of microfabricating the connectors. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a connector having a main body, a first plug extending from the main body, a flexible bridge extending from the main body or the first plug, and a second plug extending from the flexible bridge. This structure allows for the main body, the first plug, and the second plug to be arranged in tandem on a longitudinal axis of the main body, which enables the connector to be passed through a narrow diameter cannula. This structure also allows for the first plug and the second plug to be arranged in a spread out orientation, which enables the connector to be electrically connected with a neurostimulator.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a body positioning and support system having shoulder support surfaces (SSSs) and a lumbar support surface (LSS) offset downwards from a torso support surface (TSS). In an illustrative example, the TSS extends in a first plane along a longitudinal axis. An SSS may, for example, extend from each side of the TSS in opposite directions along a transverse axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis in the first plane. The LSS may, for example, be distal to the TSS. The SSSs may, for example, each be defined by a first offset from the first plane towards a base plane. The LSS may, for example, be displaced from the first plane towards the base plane by at least a second offset. A neck support surface may extend from a proximal end of the TSS. Various embodiments may advantageously automatically position and support (targeted) body anatomy.

Abstract: A method and system for minimizing the control overhead in a multi-carrier wireless communication network that utilizes a time-frequency resource is disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more zones in the time-frequency resource are designated for particular applications, such as a zone dedicated for voice-over-IP (VoIP) applications. By grouping applications of a similar type together within a zone, a reduction in the number of bits necessary for mapping a packet stream to a portion of the time-frequency resource can be achieved. In some embodiments, modular coding schemes associated with the packet streams may be selected that further reduce the amount of necessary control information. In some embodiments, packets may be classified for transmission in accordance with application type, QoS parameters, and other properties. In some embodiments, improved control messages may be constructed to facilitate the control process and minimize associated overhead.
