Abstract: A LIDAR system includes a laser source, a first lens, and a second lens. The laser source is configured to output a first beam. The first lens includes a planar portion and a convex portion. The first lens is configured to receive the first beam and output a second beam responsive to the first beam. The second lens includes a concave portion and a planar portion. The second lens is configured to receive the second beam and output a third beam responsive to the second beam.

Abstract: Soy-based high temperature products, or thermoset resins, are produced by solvent free polymerization of soy polyols and polyisocyanates at room temperature. The ratio of isocyanate equivalents to polyol equivalent used in the synthesis is greater than or equal to 3. The invented soy-based products are polyisocyanurate solid materials with excellent stability at high temperature. Heat resistance of the material is influenced by ratio of soy polyol and polyisocyanate.

Abstract: A sensor assembly includes a housing defining a chamber. The sensor assembly includes a sensor supported by the housing. The sensor assembly includes a duct extending from a first end to a second end, the first end of the duct being open to an environment external to the chamber and the second end being fluidly connected to the chamber. The duct includes a first portion at the first end, a second portion at the second end, and a middle portion between the first portion and the second portion. The middle portion extends downward from the first portion, and the second portion extends upward to the second end.

Abstract: A hair extension comprising plurality of bands having hair wefts secured thereto with micro loops adhered between the plurality of bands for attachment to the wearer's native hair. A first band has a front side and a back side and an extension weft is attached to either the front side or the backside, or both. micro links are attached with adhesive. A second band has a front side and a back side and may also have an extension weft attached to either the front side or the back side or both. Micro links are secure to either the back side of the first band or the back side of the second band, or both. The back sides of the two bands are sandwiched together with the micro links therebetween and with the extension hair exposed either exteriorly or interiorly. Also provided is a micro link wrapped with a material on which extension hair is secured. The wearer's native hair is pulled through an inner annulus of the micro link, thus concealing the micro link from view.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems, media, and methods of generating test authorization for financial transactions. One or more computing devices generate an initial data set corresponding to a financial transaction. Alterations to one or more fields of information included in the initial data set are made responsive to instructions received via a user interface. Responsive to the alterations, the one or more computing devices: convert the test data set into a binary file, deserialize the binary file, and generate a transaction file for the financial transaction based on the deserialized test data set.

Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking locations of movable assets within a space are disclosed. The systems include at least one tag configured for attachment to at least one movable asset and a plurality of anchors configured for measuring location data of the tag within the space. The tag and the anchors each include a transceiver module operable to measure location using, for example, ultrawide band or the global positioning system (GPS). The systems further include a listener in wireless communication with a communications portal or a mobile application on a mobile device, the listener is configured to receive location data from the tag and anchors and to transmit the location data to the communications portal or the mobile application. The systems also allow a user to create barriers for each of the tags within the space and alert the user when a tag moves beyond a barrier.

Abstract: Monitoring systems and methods for use in security, safety, and business process applications utilizing a correlation engine are disclosed. Sensory data from one or more sensors are captured and analyzed to detect one or more events in the sensory data. The events are correlated by a correlation engine, optionally by weighing the events based on attributes of the sensors that were used to detect the primitive events. The events are then monitored for an occurrence of one or more correlations of interest, or one or more critical events of interest. Finally, one or more actions are triggered based on a detection of one or more correlations of interest, one or more anomalous events, or one or more critical events of interest. A hierarchical storage manager, having access to a hierarchy of two or more data storage devices, is provided to store data from the one or more sensors.

Abstract: Hats including hair ports are disclosed herein. One hat includes a first portion, a second portion, and a set of straps coupling the first portion and the second portion. Here, the set of straps, the first portion, and the second portion create a set of ports located at a rear portion of the hat that extends from a crown of the hat to a bottom of the hat. Further, at least one port in the set of ports includes a size that allows the hair of a person wearing the hat to be placed there through.

Abstract: An inflatable device for lifting a patient includes an inflatable body having a top sheet and a bottom sheet attached along opposing side edges and forming at least one cavity there between, and a plurality of connecting members extending outwardly from the opposing side edges of the inflatable device. The inflatable device is configured to be inflated while being lifted by the hoist.

Abstract: An electrical resistance of a lamp in communication with a computer is determined. A respective classification for each of the electrical resistance, a vehicle length, and a trailer length is determined. Each classification is associated to a respective range of values of one of the electrical resistance, the vehicle length, or the trailer length. Based on the classifications a trailer that is attached to a vehicle is detected. One or more components of the vehicle are actuated to move the trailer.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a body positioning and support system having shoulder support surfaces (SSSs) and a lumbar support surface (LSS) offset downwards from a torso support surface (TSS). In an illustrative example, the TSS extends in a first plane along a longitudinal axis. An SSS may, for example, extend from each side of the TSS in opposite directions along a transverse axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis in the first plane. The LSS may, for example, be distal to the TSS. The SSSs may, for example, each be defined by a first offset from the first plane towards a base plane. The LSS may, for example, be displaced from the first plane towards the base plane by at least a second offset. A neck support surface may extend from a proximal end of the TSS. Various embodiments may advantageously automatically position and support (targeted) body anatomy.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to connectors for high density neural interfaces and methods of microfabricating the connectors. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a connector having a main body, a first plug extending from the main body, a flexible bridge extending from the main body or the first plug, and a second plug extending from the flexible bridge. This structure allows for the main body, the first plug, and the second plug to be arranged in tandem on a longitudinal axis of the main body, which enables the connector to be passed through a narrow diameter cannula. This structure also allows for the first plug and the second plug to be arranged in a spread out orientation, which enables the connector to be electrically connected with a neurostimulator.

Abstract: A pulse analysis system or method includes a frequency filter that receives an ultrafast pulse under test and disperses the pulse under test over a frequency range. The frequency filter separates the pulse under test into component frequency slices and provides the frequency slices to a detector coupled to a digitizer, which processes the digitized signal and collects a sonogram characteristic of the pulse under test. The frequency slices are arranged to overlap. Ptychography is performed on the sonogram to obtain characteristics of the pulse under test.

An apparatus, for example, can include a device that includes an interface through which the device is to be connected to an asset. The asset can include one or more asset sensors. The device can include one or more device sensors, a network module, and a controller that executes instructions that cause the device to perform operations. In particular, the controller can execute instructions to cause the device to receive a device policy that instructs the device to collect device data from the device sensor(s) in accordance with a device ruleset. The device also can receive an asset policy that instructs the device to collect asset data from the asset sensor(s) in accordance with an asset ruleset. The device can collect the device data and the asset data in accordance with the device/asset policies.

Abstract: Disclosed is an inclined mobile screen for processing road building materials which provides for easy reconfiguration of the screen from operation configuration to a transport configuration and to a maintenance configuration, which allows for increased clearance between the screen and a feed conveyor without requiring a hydraulic actuator disposed therebetween. Nested telescopic supports are selectively coupled together in an offset connection to allow changes in the orientation of the screen to result in changes in the separation between the screen and the conveyor so as to allow for more clearance therebetween during time of maintenance.

Abstract: A mobile device includes a camera unit, a location unit, a transmitting unit, a self-defense mechanism, and a panic button. The camera unit location unit obtains at least one of image data and audio data, and the location unit obtains location data. The transmitting unit transmits at least one of the image data, the audio data, the location data, and specific information including owner identification information. The panic button is adapted to activate the camera, the location unit, the transmitting unit, and the self-defense mechanism.

Abstract: A flexible self-adhesive label comprising a radiation-sensitive indicator for a syringe, the syringe comprising a barrel part with a front part and a rear part, having a tip at the front part, a piston at the rear part, and an exterior surface with a marking thereon. The label is attached to at least one part of the syringe and does not overlap with the marking. Also disclosed is a labeling method, kit and dispenser featuring such labels.
