Abstract: Systems, devices and methods enable generation and monitoring of support platform structural conditions in a manner that overcomes drawbacks associated with conventional approaches (e.g., load cells) for generating and monitoring similar operating condition information. In preferred embodiments, such systems, devices and methods utilize fiber optic strain gauges (i.e., fiber optic sensors) in place of (e.g., retrofit/data replacement) or in combination with conventional load cells. The fiber optic sensors are strategically placed at a plurality of locations on one or more support bodies of a support platform. In preferred embodiments, the fiber optic strain gauges are placed in positions within a hull and/or one or more pontoons of an offshore platform. Such positions are selected whereby resulting operating condition data generated by the fiber optic strain gauges suitably replaces data received by conventionally constructed and located load cells of an offshore platform (e.g., a TLP).

Abstract: A holster, for a pistol that has a top portion and that has a bottom portion including a trigger guard, includes a holster body having a top portion and a bottom portion fixed in position relative to the top portion. The holster body defines a chamber in the holster body for receiving a portion of the pistol. The holster body is made of two holster body pieces that are joined together to form the holster body defining the chamber. The holster also includes a plurality of different pistol retention devices each of which is configured to be mounted inside the chamber of the holster body between the at least two holster body pieces. Each one of the plurality of devices has a mounting portion for securing the device in the chamber of the holster body and having a trigger guard engagement portion for releasably engaging the trigger guard of the pistol.

Abstract: A temperature control device (e.g., a thermostat) may be configured to control an internal heat-generating electrical load so as to accurately measure a present temperature in a space around the temperature control device. The temperature control device may comprise a temperature sensing circuit configured to generate a temperature control signal indicating the present temperature in the space, and a control circuit configured to receive the temperature control signal and to control the internal electrical load. The control circuit may be configured to energize the internal electrical load in an awake state and to cause the internal electrical load to consume less power in an idle state. The control circuit may be configured to control the internal electrical load to a first energy level (e.g., a first intensity) during the awake state and to a second energy level (e.g., second intensity) that is less than the first during the idle state.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for a transfer model learning for relevance models are described herein. In an example, a system for member relevance prediction is adapted to collect a first data set of member interactions with the online service that occur on a first platform and train a first model using the first data set. The system for member relevance prediction may collect a second data set of member interactions with the online service that occur on a second platform. The system for member relevance prediction may predict a third data set related to member interactions using the first model and aggregate the first data set, the second data set, and the third data set. The system for member relevance prediction may train a second model for the second platform using the aggregated platform data and predict for the second platform, using the second model, online service items for the member.

Abstract: Implementations of the subject matter described herein relate to conversational data analysis. After a data analysis request is received from a user, heuristic information may be determined based on the data analysis request. The heuristic information mentioned here is not a result for the data analysis request but information which may be used for leading the conversation to proceed. Based on such heuristic information, the user may provide supplementary information associated with the data analysis request, for example, clarify meaning of the data analysis request, submit a relevant further analysis request, and so on. A really desired and meaningful data analysis result can be provided to the user according to the supplementary information provided by the user. Thus, data analysis will become more accurate and effective. While obtaining really helpful information, the user also gains good user experience.

Abstract: A transaction information aggregation system includes raw transaction and enriched transaction databases. The raw transaction database comprises transaction information for a plurality of transactions, including for each transaction an account holder identifier and at least one transaction parameter. The enriched transaction database comprises an indexed transaction record for each of the plurality of transactions, each record including a plurality of search terms associated with each of the at least one transaction parameter.

Abstract: In an Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), a radio frequency identification (RFID) subsystem of an EAS system, can detect a presence of an RFID tag in an RFID interrogation zone associated with a boundary of a controlled area. The EAS system can first determine that the RFID tag is not authorized to leave the controlled area across the boundary. A radar subsystem of the EAS system can second determine, within a first window of time around the first detecting, whether an object in motion is associated with the boundary. The EAS system can alarm based upon both determining that the RFID tag is not authorized to leave the controlled area and determining that the object in motion is associated with the boundary.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for improvements in cloud services by sharing estimated and actual usage data of cloud services recipients with the cloud services provider. The sharing of this data allows the cloud services provider to better apportion cloud resources between multiple cloud services recipients. By analyzing information included in the shared data (e.g., information about one or more applications that use the cloud resources), the cloud services provider may categorize the applications and/or the functions of those applications into authorized and unauthorized uses, the determination of which, is used to further efficiently apportion the cloud services resources.

Abstract: A computing unit is disclosed, comprising a first memory bank for storing input activations and a second memory bank for storing parameters used in performing computations. The computing unit includes at least one cell comprising at least one multiply accumulate (“MAC”) operator that receives parameters from the second memory bank and performs computations. The computing unit further includes a first traversal unit that provides a control signal to the first memory bank to cause an input activation to be provided to a data bus accessible by the MAC operator. The computing unit performs one or more computations associated with at least one element of a data array, the one or more computations being performed by the MAC operator and comprising, in part, a multiply operation of the input activation received from the data bus and a parameter received from the second memory bank.

The device may identify corner candidate points by discarding one or more points included in the intersection points, and may identify a corner point included in the corner candidate points. The corner point may be a point, included in the corner candidate points, that is closest to one corner of the bounding rectangle. The device may perform perspective correction on the image of the document based on identifying the corner point.

Abstract: A method includes detecting, for each of a plurality of images, a plurality of key points, where each of the plurality of images represents an object of an assembly system. The method includes generating, for each of the plurality of images, a correspondence between the plurality of key points, and generating, for each of the plurality of images, a reference region based on the correspondence between the plurality of key points. The method includes identifying, for each of the plurality of images, a reference key point among the plurality of key points based on the reference region, and determining a pose of the object based on the reference key point of each of the plurality of images and a reference pose of the object.

Abstract: The invention features combinations of dopaminergic agents and analgesic agents useful for treating pain. In particular, the combinations feature a low ratio of dopaminergic agent to analgesic agent. The dopaminergic agent can be an agonist of the dopamine receptor D1-like family or the dopamine receptor D2-like family. Such combinations potentiate analgesia to 1) alleviate acute pain, 2) prevent the transition from acute pain to chronic pain, and 3) manage chronic pain.

The permit may be used by the content server in order to enforce a concurrency restriction, or a number of concurrent playbacks of one or more content assets desired or permitted by the playback device. Metallic liners including a second metal can be formed on the physically exposed surfaces of the metal bonding pads without depositing the second metal on the nucleation suppression layer. The first semiconductor die is bonded to a second semiconductor die by inducing metal-to-metal bonding between mating pairs of the first metal bonding pads and second metal bonding pads of the second semiconductor die.
