Abstract: Described is a system and method for accurate image and/or video scene classification. More specifically, described is a system that makes use of a specialized convolutional-neural network (hereafter CNN) based technique for the fusion of bottom-up whole-image features and top-down entity classification. When the two parallel and independent processing paths are fused, the system provides an accurate classification of the scene as depicted in the image or video.

Abstract: An artificial reality system is described that renders, presents, and controls user interface elements within an artificial reality environment, and performs actions in response to one or more detected gestures of the user. In one example, an artificial reality system comprises a head-mounted display configured to output artificial reality content; a stylus; a stylus action detector configured to detect movement of the stylus, detect a stylus selection action, and after detecting the stylus selection action, detect further movement of the stylus; a UI engine configured to generate stylus movement content in response to detecting movement of the stylus, and generate a UI input element in response to detecting the stylus selection action; and a rendering engine configured to render the stylus movement content and the UI input element as overlays to the artificial reality content, and update the stylus movement content based on the further movement of the stylus.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to implement a virtual private network with probe for network connectivity are disclosed. An example non-transitory computer readable storage medium is disclosed comprising instructions which, when executed, cause a machine to at least, in response to a first instruction from an operating system to establish a network tunnel, transmit a probe request to a server; and in response to not receiving, from the server, a probe response to the probe request, report that the network tunnel has been established to prevent the operating system from transmitting subsequent instructions to establish the network connection until a response to a probe request is received.
Abstract: Guidewires and methods for transmitting electrical stimuli to a heart and for guiding and supporting the delivery of elongate treatment devices within the heart are disclosed. A guidewire can comprise an elongate body, including first and second elongate conductors, and at least first and second electrodes. A distal end portion of the elongate body can include a preformed bias shape, such as a pigtail-shaped region, on which the first and second electrodes can be located. The preformed bias shape can optionally be non-coplanar relative to an intermediate portion of the elongate body. The first and second elongate conductors can be formed of a single structure or two or more electrically connected structures. The conductors can extend from proximal end portions to distal end portions that electrically connect to the first and second electrodes.

Abstract: In some implementations, a device may detect edges in an image, and may identify, based on the edges, a rectangle that bounds a document in the image. The device may detect lines in the image, and may identify edge candidate lines by discarding one or more of the lines. The device may identify intersection points where lines, included in the edge candidate lines, intersect with one another. The device may identify corner candidate points by discarding one or more points included in the intersection points, and may identify a corner point included in the corner candidate points. The corner point may be a point, included in the corner candidate points, that is closest to one corner of the bounding rectangle. The device may perform perspective correction on the image of the document based on identifying the corner point.

Abstract: Onboard engine control for vehicles is disclosed herein. An example method includes determining a moving average of duty cycle periods for a power component of a vehicle for recent power load events, each of the duty cycle periods having both on-time portions and off-time portions; and when the on-time portions of the moving average are above a predetermined percentage, an engine of the vehicle remains in an on-state condition, further wherein when a current off-time period of the power component exceeds a value equal to a predetermined multiplier applied to the off-time portions, the engine is placed in an off-state condition.
