Abstract: The present disclosure provides an experimentation framework for a computational environment in a distributed system. A machine-learning model may be created that predicts at least one output produced by the computational environment based on at least one input provided to the computational environment. During an evaluation time period that is subsequent to at least one modification being made to the computational environment, at least one modified output produced by the computational environment may be determined. The machine-learning model may be used to calculate at least one predicted output that would have been produced by the computational environment during the evaluation time period if the at least one modification had not been made. A determination may also be made about how the at least one modification affected the computational environment based on a comparison of the at least one modified output and the at least one predicted output.

Abstract: Described are colonoscopy systems and methods of using such systems. The colonoscopy systems may include an optical scanning system having at least one illuminator configured to produce spatially patterned light and solid light in at least one frame to illuminate tissue within the colon, and at least one camera configured to capture the at least one image of the illuminated tissue within the colon. Additionally, the optical scanning system may include at least one control system configured to construct at least one three dimensional point cloud representations of the tissue within the colon.
Abstract: A nanofiber nonwoven product is disclosed which comprises a polyamide with a relative viscosity from 2 to 330, spun into nanofibers with an average diameter of less than 1000 nanometers (1 micron). In general, the inventive products are prepared by: (a) providing a polyamide composition, wherein the polyamide has a relative viscosity from 2 to 330; (b) melt spinning the polyamide composition into a plurality of nanofibers having an average fiber diameter of less than 1 micron, followed by (c) forming the nanofibers into the product.
Abstract: Embodiments include a heating blanket. The heating blanket may include a heating element and a shell covering the heating element. The heating element has elastic properties and is disposed in the shape of a sheet. The shell may have one or more sheets of polymeric material bonded together adjacent a perimeter of the heating element. One or more wires having malleable properties are secured within the shell. The wires allow the heating blanket to be secured to a patient.
Abstract: Disclosed are latexes, suspensions, and colloids having a cationic antimicrobial compound complexed with an anionic surfactant. The surfactant may have greater affinity for the antimicrobial compound than other anionic surfactants and other anions in the latex, suspension, or colloid that contribute to disperse phase stability to prevent disrupting the dispersions. Dispersions containing the antimicrobial compound may therefore have a shelf life comparable to dispersions that are otherwise identical but lack the cationic antimicrobial compound and its complexed anionic surfactant. Coatings made with the complexes can exhibit essentially undiminished antimicrobial activity.
Abstract: A technique for an AMR-based sensing circuit allows current measurements over a wide frequency range. This is accomplished by folding the current carrying trace around the AMR sensor to concentrate and normalize the magnetic field generated by the current over a wide frequency range. Experimental results show that the sensor, when implemented with the proposed method, has an improved bandwidth of >10 MHz and enhanced sensitivity to high frequency currents evinced by the sensor output at DC or lower frequencies. The method is applicable for example in high frequency power converters where inductor current is used to control the ripple and transient response.
Abstract: Database objects are retrieved from a database and parsed into normalized cached data objects. The database objects are stored in the normalized cached data objects in a cache store, and tenant data requests are serviced from the normalized cached data objects. The normalized cached data objects include references to shared objects in a shared object pool that can be shared across different rows of the normalized cached data objects and across different tenant cache systems.
Abstract: A position transfer device is configured for use on a control valve. These configurations may convert a linear position of a closure member on the control valve to an angular position of magnets. A sensor in proximity to the magnets can generate a signal in response to the angular position. In one implementation, a valve positioner or controller can process the signal to identify the position of the closure member relative to a seat.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for generating electricity comprising a gas propellant chamber, a containment vessel, and a rotor/stator assembly partially integrated within the containment vessel. The gas propellant chamber is disposed within the containment vessel and comprises a compressor, a nuclear fuel chamber, and a turbine assembly, wherein a drive shaft extending axially through the gas propellant chamber couples the compressor to the turbine assembly. The rotor of the rotor/stator assembly is disposed internally of the containment vessel and is in communication with the stator, the stator being disposed externally of the containment vessel. The apparatus thereby provides a simpler and safer design that is both scalable and adaptable. The apparatus is easily and safely transportable and can be designed to be highly nuclear-proliferation-resistant.
Abstract: A system may receive application data in a client-incompatible format and convert at least a portion of the application data into an alternate client-compatible format. In one example, the incompatible format may comprise Enhanced Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) while a client-compatible format may include a web format such as JavaScript, XML or HTML. Interactions (e.g., commands and user input) associated with the application may be received and converted. The interactions may then be processed using the application.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for increasing a catalyst temperature prior to entering a vehicle mode where combustion is temporarily discontinued. In one example, a method for increasing a temperature of an emission control device before a transient fuel shut-off (TFSO) event of an engine via a spark timing adjustment and an exhaust valve opening timing adjustments. Adjustments of the spark timing and the exhaust valve opening timing may change depending on whether a transient fuel shut off event of an auto-stop event occurs.
Abstract: A sink includes a bottom surface forming an opening for drainage therein, a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a third sidewall, and a fourth sidewall, each of which is extended from the bottom surface, and a ledge fixedly attached to top ends of the first, second, third, and fourth sidewalls. The bottom surface and the first, second, third, and fourth sidewalls have a same thickness, and a thickness of the ledge is different from the thickness of the bottom surface.
Abstract: An automotive battery cable includes an electrical wire, a terminal crimped onto a distal end of the electrical wire, and a sleeve positioned on the electrical wire and extending over an attachment point between the terminal and the electrical wire, the sleeve including a first portion including a body and a neck, the body including an inner surface having contour features adapted to allow the body to deform and compress against the attachment point and matching the shape of the attachment point to sealingly encapsulate the attachment point, and the neck extending from the body around and along the electrical wire, and a second portion encircling and compressing the body onto the attachment point to seal the attachment point within the first portion and to provide a positive stop to limit relative motion of the electrical wire and the terminal at the attachment point.
Abstract: A computer-readable non-transitory physical storage medium having stored thereon machine-executable code for electronically facilitating contact between mutually interested entities, said machine-executable code to be executed by a microprocessor, said machine executable code which when executed by said microprocessor causes the microprocessor to perform operations including suggesting to a first user other users that first user may be interested in, where the suggested other users are filtered based on their location, causing a device to display a graphical user interface (GUI) for the first user to input a rating of the first user's level of interest in one or more respects in at least one other user, accepting the first user's level of interest rating via the GUI while not displaying the first user's rating to the at least one other user, and electronically notifying a pair of users that have rated each other above a threshold level.
