Abstract: Examples discussed herein relate to automatically creating lambda functions in spreadsheet applications, e.g., Microsoft Excel®. In an implementation, a method of automatically creating lambda functions in spreadsheet applications using a lambda shorthand notation is disclosed. The method includes analyzing contents of a cell of a spreadsheet to identify a formulaic expression and determining that the formulaic expression can define a body of a lambda function without using explicit lambda function notation or parameter declarations. The method further includes automatically creating and invoking the lambda function responsive to the determination. As discussed herein, creating the lambda function includes registering the lambda function in a lambda registry using the formulaic expression as the body of the lambda function that evaluates into an output value.

Abstract: A system for enabling remote management of storage facilities has a videoconferencing system that allows a remote sales agent to communicate with customers at any of a plurality of storage facilities. When a customer enters a main office of a storage facility, the presence of the customer is sensed by one or more sensor nodes, and the remote sales agent is alerted to the customer's presence. In response, a videoconference call with the sales agent is established so that the customer sees an image of and may interact with the sales agent through the videoconferencing system. After the call, the sale agent may tend to other activities, such as communicating with other customers at the same facility or other storage facilities. If the customer desires to speak with the agent, the customer may provide a user input that automatically establishes a call with the same sales agent, if available.

Abstract: A portable alarm system has a base unit including a processor electrically connected to a wireless transceiver configured to communicate wireless signals to an external location. The base unit is further configured to receive wireless alarm signals from at least a first sensor and a second sensor, both of the first and second sensors being physically separated from the base unit. The processor is configured to be selectively programmed by a user to cause the base unit to communicate with a remote monitoring station in response to receiving an alarm signal from the first sensor, but not in response to receiving an alarm signal from the second sensor. Instead, when an alarm signal is received from the second sensor, the processor causes a different action, other than communicating with the monitoring station, to occur. Such action can include, for example, sending a wireless communication to a mobile electronic device.
Abstract: The present disclosed technology is a generally two-dimensional display and audible alarm to show notification and urgency information from multiple object detection radar sensors on a vehicle. When a particular sensor is reporting to the vehicle's operation and control center, the corresponding light(s) according to a top view of the vehicle in the array may light up, pulse or flash accordingly. In addition, an audible alarm may operate in concert and emphasis with the light(s) display.

The gas propellant chamber is disposed within the containment vessel and comprises a compressor, a nuclear fuel chamber, and a turbine assembly, wherein a drive shaft extending axially through the gas propellant chamber couples the compressor to the turbine assembly. The rotor of the rotor/stator assembly is disposed internally of the containment vessel and is in communication with the stator, the stator being disposed externally of the containment vessel. The apparatus thereby provides a simpler and safer design that is both scalable and adaptable. The apparatus is easily and safely transportable and can be designed to be highly nuclear-proliferation-resistant.
Abstract: A method and system for minimizing the control overhead in a multi-carrier wireless communication network that utilizes a time-frequency resource is disclosed. In some embodiments, one or more zones in the time-frequency resource are designated for particular applications, such as a zone dedicated for voice-over-IP (VoIP) applications. By grouping applications of a similar type together within a zone, a reduction in the number of bits necessary for mapping a packet stream to a portion of the time-frequency resource can be achieved. In some embodiments, modular coding schemes associated with the packet streams may be selected that further reduce the amount of necessary control information. In some embodiments, packets may be classified for transmission in accordance with application type, QoS parameters, and other properties. In some embodiments, improved control messages may be constructed to facilitate the control process and minimize associated overhead.
