Abstract: Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion with an interior cavity, an upper back wall portion, a lower back wall portion, a ledge portion extending from the upper back wall portion to the lower back wall portion, an upper back wall portion thickness, and a lower back wall portion thickness. The golf club head may further include a first mass portion below the ledge portion, a second mass portion above the ledge portion, a polymer material in the interior cavity, a first width of the interior cavity above the ledge portion, a second width of the interior cavity below the ledge portion and above the lower back wall portion thickness, and a third width of the interior cavity below the second width.

Abstract: A rechargeable energy storage system and a method of manufacturing includes a battery pack having a battery cell module assembly with an interconnect board disposed between and physically connecting the battery cells with the cell monitoring unit, and a module cover at least partially enclosing the battery cells, the cell monitoring unit, and the interconnect board. The battery pack has relatively high and relatively low loss regions for radio frequency signal communication. A radio frequency manager is wirelessly connectable to the cell monitoring unit by radio frequency signal communication. A signal directing component is operable for transmitting and/or receiving a radio frequency signal between the cell monitoring unit and the radio frequency manager, is configured to direct the radio frequency signal to the relatively low loss region, and is integrated in one of the module cover, the interconnect board, or the radio frequency manager.

Abstract: A method of preventing bone blowout may include forming a hole in a bone, the hole having a bone hole diameter, and inserting a bone fastener into the hole. The bone fastener may include a shaft having a minor diameter and a helical thread. The helical thread may be disposed about the shaft and may include a first undercut surface and a second undercut surface. The first undercut surface may be angled toward one of the proximal end and the distal end of the shaft, and the second undercut surface may be angled toward the other one of the proximal end and the distal end of the shaft. The minor diameter of the shaft may not be greater than 5% larger the bone hole diameter.

Abstract: In a plasma compression fusion device, two electrical grids used to ionize the Deuterium gas (or other fusion fuel in gaseous form). The two grids are kept at different oppositely charged voltages so as to electrostatically accelerate either electrons or ions into the plasma core, depending on desired physical effect. Each of the grids are driven by an electrical signal—one positive and one negative. The two signals are controlled by a spread spectrum modulator that outputs the desired electrical signal, which is modulated by the spread spectrum modulator under the control of a pseudo random (PN) sequence. To achieve the desired electrical effect, the two signals must be matched exactly in phase and amplitude. One signal, e.g., the positive signal, is controlled by a PN sequence from outside the device, whereas the opposite signal is controlled by a PN sequence built into the device.

Abstract: A transfer case pump includes an oil pump, a cover assembly, and a torque transfer mechanism. The oil pump has a pump shaft, and is configured to pressurize a lubricant in response to a rotation of the pump shaft. The pump shaft rotates around a pump axis. The pump axis is parallel to a rear axis of a rear shaft. The pump axis is offset from the rear axis. The cover assembly has a channel configured to transfer the lubricant from the oil pump to the rear shaft. The cover assembly extends around the rear shaft and around the pump shaft. The torque transfer mechanism is configured to transfer a torque from the rear shaft to the pump shaft.

Abstract: Techniques and tools are described for decoding jointly coded information. For example, a decoder decodes a variable length code [“VLC”] signaled at macroblock level that jointly represents a transform type signal level, transform type, and subblock pattern. The decoder decodes one or more VLCs signaled at block level, each jointly representing a transform type and subblock pattern. The decoder may select between multiple VLC tables for the VLCs signaled macroblock level and/or block level.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a pharmaceutical formulation intended for oral delivery of synthetic or natural poorly permeable calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) inhibitors or salts/solvates thereof having a therapeutic activity. The pharmaceutical formulation can include a synthetic or natural poorly permeable CGRP inhibitors or salt or solvate thereof in an amount 0.01-10 wt. % of the total weight of the formulation; a lipophilic phase comprising triglycerides of fatty acids in an amount of 50-80 wt. % of the total weight of the formulation; and at least one lipophilic surfactant comprising partial esters of polyol and fatty acids in an amount of about 10-50 wt. % of the total weight of the formulation.

Abstract: A latching system associated with a dipper door of a dipper includes a latch bar that engages with a body of the dipper. The latch bar defines a longitudinal axis. The latch bar includes a housing, one or more shims, and a wear member removably coupled to the housing. The wear member defines a wear surface and a wear axis extending parallel to the wear surface. An angle defined between the wear axis and the longitudinal axis is less than 45 degrees. The latching system also includes an arm member pivotally coupled to the dipper door such that the arm member is pivotable along a first pivot plane. The arm member contacts a portion of the latch bar for moving the latch bar along the longitudinal axis. The latching system includes a guide assembly having a guide pulley and an actuation member that causes pivoting of the arm member.

Abstract: A method includes determining a query for execution against a dataset that includes a plurality of records, where values of the plurality of records corresponding to a first subset of the plurality of fields are stored via a first storage mechanism, and values of the plurality of records corresponding to a second subset of the plurality of fields are stored via a second storage mechanism. Execution of the query is facilitated by accessing, via the first storage mechanism, values of at least one first field included in the first subset of the plurality of fields and accessing, via the second storage mechanism, values of at least one second field included in the second subset of the plurality of fields. A query resultant for the query is generated based on the values of the at least one first field and the values of the at least one second field.

Abstract: Neural networks and learning algorithms can use a variance of gradients to provide a heuristic understanding of the model. The variance of gradients can be used in active learning techniques to train a neural network. Techniques include receiving a dataset with a vector. The dataset can be annotated and a loss calculated. The loss value can be used to update the neural network through backpropagation. An updated dataset can be used to calculate additional losses. The loss values can be added to a pool of gradients. A variance of gradients can be calculated from the pool of gradient vectors. The variance of gradients can be used to update a neural network.

Abstract: An appetite suppressant composition may comprise at least one anorectic active ingredient; at least one of a nutritive substance, a cofactor; and optionally, an excipient. The anorectic active ingredient may comprise any one of phentermine, phendimetrazine, diethylpropion, naltrexone, and bupropion. The system may also include and one or more processors configured to execute the software instructions to detect a physical action performed on the mobile client device, and determine a first financial service function to perform based on the detected physical action, wherein the first financial service function is a function provided by the mobile financial service application. The one or more processors may also determine whether verification of a user is required, verify the user if verification of the user is required, and automatically initiate the first financial service function.

The method further includes determining, by the data processing hardware, whether the request authenticator satisfies the security credential. When the request authenticator satisfies the security credential, the method includes granting or denying, by the data processing hardware, access to the resource based on a request failure rate associated with the security credential.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an all-fiber, easy to use, wavelength tunable, ultrafast laser based on soliton self-frequency-shifting in an Er-doped polarization-maintaining very large mode area (PM VLMA) fiber. The ultrafast laser system may include an all polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber mode-locked seed laser with a pre-amplifier; a Raman laser including a cascaded Raman resonator and an ytterbium (Yb) fiber laser cavity; an amplifier core-pumped by the Raman laser, the amplifier including an erbium (Er) doped polarization maintaining very large mode area (PM Er VLMA) optical fiber and a passive PM VLMA fiber following the PM Er VLMA, the passive PM VLMA for supporting a spectral shift to a longer wavelength.

Abstract: Systems and methods for encrypted content management are provided and include generating a user private key, a user public key, and a symmetric encryption key. A group private key, a group public key, and a group symmetric encryption key are generated and the group private key is encrypted with the group symmetric encryption key. A first shared-secret key is generated based on the user public key and the group private key using a diffie-hellman exchange algorithm. The group symmetric encryption key is encrypted using the first shared-secret key to generate an escrow key. Plaintext data is encrypted using a content symmetric key. A second shared-secret key is generated based on an ephemeral private key and the group public key using a diffie-hellman exchange algorithm. The content symmetric key is encrypted using the second shared-secret key.

Abstract: A multimedia file and methods of generating, distributing and using the multimedia file are described. Multimedia files in accordance with embodiments of the present invention can contain multiple video tracks, multiple audio tracks, multiple subtitle tracks, data that can be used to generate a menu interface to access the contents of the file and ‘meta data’ concerning the contents of the file. Multimedia files in accordance with several embodiments of the present invention also include references to video tracks, audio tracks, subtitle tracks and ‘meta data’ external to the file. One embodiment of a multimedia file in accordance with the present invention includes a series of encoded video frames and encoded menu information.
