Abstract: A method for rapidly evaluating inequality expressions for electromagnetic propagation includes obtaining a threshold loss value establishing a maximum electromagnetic (EM) path loss between a first geographical point and a second geographical point. The method also includes, for each of a plurality of EM paths between the first geographical point and the second geographical point, obtaining a minimum EM loss value for the corresponding EM path and a maximum EM loss value for the corresponding EM path and determining whether the maximum EM loss value for the corresponding EM path satisfies the threshold loss value. Additionally, the method includes, when the maximum EM loss value for the corresponding EM path satisfies the threshold loss value, determining that an actual EM path loss value for the corresponding EM path between the first geographical point and the second geographical point satisfies the threshold loss value.

Abstract: Technology for sensing non-volatile memory cells in which one or more sense nodes are charged to a sense voltage having a magnitude that improves sensing accuracy. One sense node may be charged to different sense voltages when sensing different memory cells at different times. Multiple sense nodes may be charged to a corresponding multiple different sense voltages when sensing different memory cells at the same time. The one or more sense nodes are allowed to discharge based on respective currents of memory cells for a pre-determined time while applying a reference voltage to the memory cells. The Vts of the selected memory cells are assessed based on respective voltages on the one or more of sense nodes after the pre-determined time. Different sensing voltages may be used based on bit line voltage, bit line resistance, distance of memory cells from the sense node, or other factors.

Abstract: Ultrasensitive, decoupled thermodynamic sensing platforms for the molecular-level detection of target analytes are disclosed, wherein the sensors have a heating resistor decoupled from a sensing resistor. Embodiments of the decoupled sensor comprise a metallic microheater resistor on one side of substrate, and a sensor resistor coupled to a catalyst on the other side of the substrate. A sensor array may be provided including a plurality of sensors each having a different catalyst that, when exposed to an analyte, each experience an endothermic reaction, an exothermic reaction, or no reaction. A comparison of the reaction results to data comprising previously obtained reaction results may be used to determine the presence and the identity of the analyte. Advantageously, the decoupled sensors utilize less power and provide greater sensitivity than other-known systems, and may be used to detect and identify a single molecule of an analyte.
